Information Technology Personal Statement
Sample Information Technology Personal Statement
Ever since my childhood, computers have been a crucial aspect of my life. I have relished every opportunity that I have had to either study computing at school, or to learn more about IT through a hands-on approach of experimenting with computers myself. The IT world is an endlessly complex one that is continually changing, with each advance bringing with it countless new possibilities to benefit mankind and the societies that we live in. My home country has undergone rapid changes for the better in recent years, and many of these have been a direct result of advances in information technology. I am an ardent patriot, and I believe that my passion for computers and IT could be put to use not just for my own personal fulfilment, but for the benefit of my country. It is for this reason that I wish to study for an advanced degree in the field of information technology in the United Kingdom, a country whose universities occupy a leading role in the educational world and whose IT sector is amongst the most dynamic in the world.
Through studying information technology at university, I hope to build on the skills and knowledge that I have already gained from my previous educational experiences and my own self-study. My goal is nothing less than to gain a thorough knowledge of all the critical aspects of information technology, such as programming languages, software engineering, networks, information systems and hardware development. Having immersed myself in the world of computers for quite some time now, I am fully aware of the complexities of all these areas, and as a consequence I believe that it is essential for anyone who aspires to work in IT to have undertaken the sort of rigorous studies that only an advanced degree can offer.
Recently I had the opportunity to learn more about the professional applications of information technology and put into practice the knowledge that I have gained in this area so far by completing a summer internship in the information technology department of a large company based in Hong Kong. The experience fired my interest in the world of information technology, and it was a real pleasure to find out about the challenges that face IT professionals in their daily lives. I enjoyed working on a wide variety of assignments during the internship, and valued the opportunities that the placement gave me to develop both my technical skills and personal attributes such as problem-solving and working as part of a team.
I lead an active and busy life outside of college. In addition to spending much of my spare time developing my IT skills through reading about the subject and programming, I am also a keen footballer. I was captain of my school’s football team, a role that I was honoured to hold. I relished the challenge of leading by example on the football pitch, and I also enjoyed the wide range of additional responsibilities that came with the position, such as organising training and managing things such as transport to and from matches and the team’s kit. I felt particularly privileged to be awarded the second prize for performance in my college’s football league. I also enjoy singing, both individually and as part of a group, and I was recently awarded third prize in my college’s singing competition.
I am wholeheartedly looking forward to the opportunity to study computers and information technology at a British university. The United Kingdom is a world-leader in this sector, and I feel that by learning from the world experts who work in the computing departments of Britain’s universities and by studying alongside bright and eager minds who share my love of computers, I will be granting myself the best possible chance to prepare myself for a future career as an information technology professional. I hope that I will be able to put the knowledge that I gain and my career aspirations to use for the good of serving my country in the future.
This sample Information Technology personal statement should be used as a guide to write an individual personal statement of your own that makes you stand out from the crowd.

Information Technology Management Personal Statement Example
I am interested in learning about information technology, data management, data security and fair use of information technology. I hope that you accept my information technology management personal statement to study for your degree programme.
People create many different machines, and it is by utilising the good ones and improving the bad that we have had many technological advances. It is for this reason of being at the forefront of new technology, not just in this country, that I am applying for a course in Information Technology Management.
I have visited the UK on many occasions, mainly in towns in the Northeast, such as Hull and Blackpool. During my time in Hull, as part of the German exchange with school, I stayed with a British family.
I learned information technology management at the firm where I worked part-time in the exchange programme. I am now in Germany, but I am interested in returning to the UK as I thoroughly enjoyed my holidays and trips there.
I also feel there are many lessons we, as a country, could learn from the UK. For example, paying a small compensation for recycled goods, or placing more emphasis on travelling by bike, instead of a car.
Outside School, I regularly work with computers and use them in my free time. I have experience working with many operating systems and software packages to enhance management productivity.
I enjoy working with computer management systems and am keen to learn more about how they work and their capabilities. I feel that as computers are becoming more a part of modern-day life, it is essential to understand them thoroughly.
I enjoy utilising new technology and am interested in creating new software to support management and board decisions.
My English communication skills are very good. I have improved them through my temporary summer jobs, such as working in an eBay auctioning shop in Blackpool. I have also, on many occasions, represented my School’s rugby team in Dusseldorf, even as the captain for a few years.
This has allowed me to learn about working as part of a team and taught me the importance of perseverance and audacity.
These activities have helped me develop my core skills, such as communication, independent problem solving and working with others, in a team environment.
I aim to pursue a career in ICT and management, working with programming and management software. I am also interested in finding a career in Germany or Uk after my studies.
I hope you will consider my application, this Information Technology Management personal statement and other supporting documents, for admission into your university.

The brand of having a degree from the UK is highly respected by employers in Bangladesh as they believe that UK education molds proper professionals and there is an expectation are high from applicants with such degrees. Though, the study environment in my country follows theoretical systems of education which are quite different and no soft skills gained. In recent years, all companies in Bangladesh are emphasizing hiring of Bangladeshi graduates with degrees from abroad, as they see the transferrable skills carried forward from the international education will play a key role in transforming their approach to the business and believe these graduates are capable of doing so. This has played a key part in my decision-making when choosing a study destination. A recent Survey of International Graduate Outcomes 2019 by Universities UK International produced by graduate’s shows that 82% of international graduates say that their UK degree is worth the financial investment and the same percentage say they are satisfied with their careers. 83% feel that a UK degree has helped them to get jobs that they would not get otherwise. So this is the reason to choose the UK over other education destinations. I can see myself thriving more in a world of knowledge and teaching methods I’m accustomed to.
My choice is the University of Bedfordshire as it is incredibly welcoming to international students. To support students the University have invested heavily in their facilities to shape the physical and intellectual environment of learning. With over 22,000 students, the University provides outstanding higher education to people from all backgrounds and from over 120 countries, with a significant proportion of mature students and a growing international postgraduate community. According to DLHE 2018, 91% of graduates in work and/or further study within six months of graduating. Moreover, the University has campuses with excellent facilities. Tutors are high- qualified academics and most of them have received National Teaching Fellowship Awards. By researching a lot I have come to know that, Beds provide tuition to their students that goes way beyond the classroom. Conversely, I will have the opportunity to gain real-world knowledge and transferable skills that employers look for in graduate recruits. Actually, the University supports their students from a dedicated team during their course to get career-ready. And it will be a great achievement for me if I get the opportunity to study at the University of Bedfordshire.

I believe that inquisitive and explorative attitude will lead to a continuous learning process. As an RF(Radio Frequency) Engineer. I look for graduate study to refine my knowledge and skills in my areas of interest. I believe it will also serve to give direction to my goal of a career.
Electronic Communications are an industry that has changed our lives. In a very short period, it has changed the way we have looked at things for centuries. It is one industry that is going to shape our future for centuries to come. Hence my desire to do masters in Electronics and communications Engineering. My interest in Electronics dates back the early days of my high school. My career objective is to pursue masters in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering. I am of the firm conviction that suitable opportunity to pursue graduate studies will help in my endeavour towards realizing my goal, paving the path for self-actualization. And as I said I have achieved my conviction and successfully completed my Masters in Electrical and Computer engineering.
The field of ECE has always fascinated me. My interest started developing in the early stage of my life, when I studied about the invention of computers, moreover about its large size. The transformation from the large size to small palmtops enticed me to know about the factors that are responsible for making computers, also the electronic gadgets so small. I was taken back after seeing a small chip for the first time in my school days, furthermore when it came to my knowledge that this single chip contains more than 1000 transistors, it really became impossible for me to believe, “integrated circuits” was the answer I received but wasn’t able to penetrate the fundamentals of it. Since then, every day I come across with small circuits and spent hours to solve the mystery and finally decided to enter the cave of electronics.
The interest and fascination have evolved into a determination to study the subject deeply. The subjects that I was very much interested was Embedded Systems, Wireless Communications & Networks, Cellular & VLSI, which arouses my curiosity, in fact, all the subjects of electronics are very interesting.
As a student member of various forums in my College, I have been actively associated with various workshops and seminars. Having done a rigorous groundwork in both theoretical and applied electronics & Comm.. , now I am in a position to peep into the realm of higher studies. I am an ambitious person with immense will power. It has been my long cherished dream to complete a masters and eventually comes out as a good engineer, equipped enough to contribute to the larger community. But to gain more expertise, I wish to undertake my graduate study at your prestigious University, which has the best of facilities. I think yours is a right place that would suit my interests and aspirations the best. If you give me a chance to prove myself as a good student, it would be a fine opportunity to realize my dreams and to give a proper fulfillment in my otherwise brilliant academic career.
As I have completed my Bachelor’s in India. I came to the USA to pursue Master’s degree. As I have completed the degree I worked in IT for a while and then I moved back to my core competence field i.e RF Engineering which is a part of the Wireless Communication. I a short span of my Professional career I have gained enormous knowledge and few certifications and planning on to do more. Apart from engineering there is an important interest that I have is in entrepreneurship and planning on to open a startup in the coming years which Is why I want to an another Master’s degree in Managing Information Technology which will help me in understanding and learn the key skills that every entrepreneur needs like software, business, technology, security, legal issues, and leadership.
And I couldn’t find a better university than Sullivan University with busy schedule and work I was very much interested in this flexible curriculum and class schedule will help me develop the skills that I need for the development of my company and also for my startup along with focusing my current Job. I am very much looking forward to starting the class at Sullivan University.
Thank you, for considering my candidature as a prospective graduate student.

Multimedia and Arts Technology Personal Statement
I believe that computers can now be considered the centre of all knowledge – with so much information readily available by simply conducting a single search on a web browser. I have been interested in the vast world of technology ever since my earliest memory of experiencing video games and being fascinated that the combination of a screen, a gaming platform and a controller could allow you to experience an entirely different, virtual environment. I am intrigued by contemporary technology and the way it is influencing new generations.
Studying ICT has allowed me to advance my knowledge of computers from research of computer systems and how components work together. It has also led to me learning the basics of web architecture when creating a website. I improved my own website using my programming skills of HTML and CSS via the platform of Bootstrap that I learnt from the online resources of CodeAcademy, this produced a better functioning website as opposed to the template of Adobe Dreamweaver that was suggested. By challenging myself to improve my ability, I have enhanced my learning experience and reinforced my passion for technology. From studying A-Level Mathematics, I have developed the logical thinking I require when solving complex problems and deciphering the processes required to find a solution. This skill can be applied to the creation of interactive applications as I am aware of the strong connection between maths and computing; I observed that possessing a knowledge of mathematical methods helps to explain programming languages such as the use of booleans in Python. This combines with my understanding of the effects of inventions in societies that I have perceived from my studies in English Literature which helps me to interpret how my creations will impact an audience.
I was able to gain some industry experience by investing a week at the children’s technology development company Dubit Limited where I undertook roles in creative , research and quality assurance departments. Working within these departments allowed me to explore different occupations, such as Graphic Design and QA Testing, that in the future I may want to pursue. During my time with the company, I benefitted from the opportunity to build on my key communication and organisational skills, whilst I was also able to gain an understanding of Adobe Flash and therefore develop my artistic capabilities by experimenting with the software. I also learnt the importance of issue tracking and management software such as Jira which allows each department to know what to improve when co-operating on a project and gave me an experience of the debugging process when creating an interactive application. Through combining these varied skills, it reinforced my desire to work both creatively and technically within a future role.
I have also had the opportunity to better my communication skills by assisting children in several subjects – ICT, mathematics and art. I volunteered to introduce the video game ‘Minecraft’ to some younger students, aged 12-14, to develop their understanding of how a game can lead to limitless creativity. It lead to the students creating simple houses to more intricate designs such as towers which presented to them the idea of having no limitations on their imagination. I recently aided primary school children in producing paintings of rivers for the Wharfe Valley Learning Partnership; I discussed various styles, provided background information on artistic movements and guided the children through the creative process. I currently support lower ability students, aged 12-13, with maths by working with them to complete tasks in problem topics to ensure that they are able to progress to improving their grades.
Outside of studies I enjoy reading, music, art, baking and playing video games; each of these interests incorporate technology. The digital portability of ebooks and mp3s allows me to enjoy reading and listening to music regardless of location, creative software enables me to produce art and the internet provides platforms in which I can easily find recipes in the various forms. My preferred platform for video games is a PC due to ease of access and preferred controls. To further my knowledge of programming, I read ‘Code: The Hidden Language of Computer Hardware and Software’ by Charles Petzold which taught me to fundamentals of computer science through the use of common objects. I also recently participated in a competition to celebrate Ada Lovelace Day that asked for my opinion on what would interest her in the 21st century; this improved my research skills as I researched her interests and chose to look at computer-generated music and art based on both my own and Ada’s love for the arts.
I believe that studying a creative technology course will allow me to develop the knowledge of interactivity in an advancing digital society which will increase my potential of progressing to a future career as a web designer or developer.

Business and it personal statement example 2.
What would life be without technology? In this world that we live in it is impossible to be fully efficient in a business society without having grasp knowledge of information and communications technology. Information technology ever changing in our business society and I desire to be a part of this changing process.
Through out years of studying Information Technology I have grown to like the subject. Although, part of the course is somewhat demanding, the further involvement in the course is what has drawn me most to the course.
My utmost belief is that a combination of both courses would enlighten and engage me through out my degree course. In my years of studying information and communication technology I have used softwares like Macromedia Flash and Macromedia Dreamweaver to create websites and also the use of Microsoft Access to arrange data bases for businesses as my coursework.
Both Business and Information and Communications Technology are subjects I am totally in love with and testimony to this fact is the AS Award for Information and Communications Technology I received in the recent past. I have also excelled greatly in Business Studies both in GCSE level and AS level and hope to excel further in years to come at your university.
The world has had a rapid grown in global markets through automation and e-commerce and this can be linked with Information Technology and the web with the ultimate goal of being more efficient in the rapidly growing global market. All these have provided me with inspiration to be involved in a world where new technology is being developed.
On a lighter note, I work in my school as a lunch time supervisor every lunch time for the past two years.
This job has taught me what commitment, hard work and time management is all about as I have managed to blend both my academics and my job together and still be prompt in submitting in work and preparing for exams and excelling in them.
I thrive in situations where I have to work under pressure as it makes me alert and spurs me in doing even greater things. My further sense of responsibility comes from my post as been Sanderson's events captain for my school. This has given me the opportunity to be in control and create events for the house as well as feel as part of a team.
Other aspects of life that interests me out of school are charitable works. I have seen first hand, the misfortune of people being born into the poverty trap and the human rights violations that ordinary people like us have to face because of the misfortune of being born into one of the poorest countries and continents on earth.
This has made me more aware than other teenagers of the less privileged and handicapped in every society I live and always eager to render my help and support in any way I can. This has led me to volunteer at the Little Monkey's Toddler group in Shaftesbury every week.
In addition to that every Friday, I go to a neighbouring disabled children's primary school to help the teachers out with their sporting activities. Furthermore I am a member of the global student forum in which our aim is to see changes in our society by using our initiative to make the world a better place.
Sometimes I see my self at the top floor of a business institution looking down at the works of my hands and I feel a sense of achievement, fulfilment, accomplishment and triumph all at the same time. In faith, this dream would be completed through hard work and commitment inside an Information technology and business degree for the next four years.
A wise man once told me that there are three types of people in this life, those that make it happen, those that watch it happen and those that ask: what happened? My aim is to be in the group of those who make it happen. I hope to be an asset to your university both academically and socially.
