They learn basic survival instincts and flying from the grown-ups while living in the herd. Hence, it is very important to never capture or buy a young parrot.

Parrots can also experience emotions as they are sentient beings. One should give proper attention and care to the parrots if one is keeping them as a pet. Parrots are also known to bite if they get upset. They need to be properly trained with patience and love.

What Do Parrots Eat | Parrots are herbivores. They love to eat grains, but in the forest, they feast on ripe fruits such as mangoes and pears. They also eat mango leaves. They also eat seeds, pollen, buds, berries and nuts. While keeping a parrot as a pet, one should ensure that it is fed properly and with healthy food.

My Pet Parrot

Last year, in our backyard, we found an injured parrot. It was a green parrot with red beaks. It was very pretty. We immediately took him to a veterinary doctor. He treated his wounds which were from an eagle who was trying to hunt it. We kept the parrot in our home and fed him till he was healthy.After that, we took him to the garden. He flew for a distance but then came back to us. I was so happy. Since then, he has been with us. I have named him Dobby.

I feed him good food daily. He loves to munch on mangoes and guavas. I never kept him in a cage, and Dobby loves to live on the tall mango tree in our backyard. He mimics everyone in the house. He is very intelligent. I love my pet parrot very much.

Parrots are very popular birds, but this popularity is now creating an existential crisis for them. According to research, one-third of all parrot species are endangered. It is due to the growing rate of deforestation and capturing of these birds that they are now facing danger. Proper measures should be implemented by the government to safeguard these innocent creatures.

Parrots are considered the most charming species of birds on the earth also known as PSITTACINES scientifically. Usually, all the breeds of parrots are full of vibrant colours which make them quite attractive and colourful. However, black-red coloured parrots and African grey parrots are the exceptions of this species.

Parrots do vary in size but they have some characteristic features that are common to all the parrots such as their red-coloured curved beak, vivid-coloured feathers, four toes, and a straight posture. Earth has nearly 300 species of parrots which are found in different regions of the world. These birds are considered quite intelligent and active than other bird species as they have a god-gifted talent of mimicking the sounds they are exposed to. Also, they have a life span of 60 years or around.

Parrots usually eat insects, nuts, fruits and tiny seeds. They are provided with a piercing and curved beak to hold the nuts easily. These are very friendly birds and people love to keep them as pets in their houses. Most of the parrots are found in the tropical areas and places with a warm and humid climate such as in India. They are also loyal towards their mates and flatter them with their shining feathers and melodic jingles. Many circus groups use parrots to entertain the audience as they easily learn and imitate things.

Euro area international trade in goods surplus €24.1 bn.

The first estimates of euro area balance showed a €24.1 bn surplus in trade in goods with the rest of the world in March 2024, compared with +€19.1 bn in March 2023.

The euro area exports of goods to the rest of the world in March 2024 were €245.4 billion, a decrease of 9.2% compared with March 2023 (€270.4 bn). Imports from the rest of the world stood at €221.3 bn, a fall of 12.0% compared with March 2023 (€251.4 bn).

In March 2024 compared to February 2024, there was very little change in the composition of the trade balance by product. The only significant change was an increase in the surplus for ‘chemicals’ from €19.3bn in February to €23.3bn in March. As a result, the overall surplus increased.

In January to March 2024, the euro area recorded a surplus of €57.5 bn, compared with €-9.4 bn in January-March 2023. The euro area exports of goods to the rest of the world fell to €705.0 bn (a decrease of 3.2% compared with January-March 2023), and imports fell to €647.5 bn (a decrease of 12.3% compared with January-March 2023). Intra-euro area trade fell to €650.8 bn in January-March 2024, down by 8.4% compared with January-March 2023.

European Union

The EU balance showed a €21.7 bn surplus in trade in goods with the rest of the world in March 2024, compared with a €17.4 bn surplus in March 2023.

The extra-EU exports of goods in March 2024 was €219.6 billion, down by 9.5% compared with March 2023 (€242.6 bn).

Imports from the rest of the world stood at €197.9 bn, down by 12.1% compared with March 2023 (€225.2 bn).

When looking at the breakdown of the EU balance by product, the picture is similar to the graph of the euro area. I n March 2024, the surplus recorded in ‘chemicals’ increased compared with February 2024, while the surplus for  ‘machinery and vehicles’ decreased . Despite these fluctuations, the overall balance of the EU remained relatively stable in comparison to February 2024.

In January to March 2024, extra-EU exports of goods fell to €628.8 bn (a decrease of 3.3% compared with January-March 2023), and imports fell to €580.1 bn (a decrease of 13.4% compared with January-March 2023). As a result, the EU recorded a surplus of €48.7 bn, compared with a deficit of €19.2 bn in January-March 2023.

Intra-EU trade fell to €1 022.2 bn in January-March 2024, -6.9% compared with January-March 2023.

Annex - Seasonally adjusted data

In March 2024 compared with February 2024, euro area seasonally adjusted exports increased by 0.1%, while imports decreased by 0.1%. The seasonally adjusted balance was €17.3 bn, an increase compared with February (€16.7 bn).

In March 2024 compared with February 2024, EU seasonally adjusted exports increased by 0.1%, while imports also increased by 0.1%. The seasonally adjusted balance was €14.1 bn, unchanged when compared with February.        

In the first quarter of 2024, euro area seasonally adjusted exports increased by 0.5% while imports decreased by 2.4%, in comparison with the last quarter of 2023. Similarly, EU seasonally adjusted exports slightly increased by 0.3%, while imports decreased by 2.9% in comparison with the last quarter of 2023.

For each reference month, Member States must compile statistics covering their total extra- and intra-EU trade by using estimates, where necessary. These data are available within 40 days after the end of the reference month, enabling euro area and EU aggregates to be disseminated within around 46 days.

Member States provide Eurostat with raw data, which are adjusted for calendar and seasonal effects by Eurostat. The European aggregates are computed with the indirect approach (by Member States) for total imports and exports, which guarantees additivity between the aggregate and its respective components. The estimation of seasonally adjusted data is based on the Tramo-Seats procedure, which is available in the software JDemetra+.

Data are broken down by broad categories of products as defined by the one-digit codes of the Standard international trade classification (SITC).

Geographical information

The euro area (EA20) includes Belgium, Germany, Estonia, Ireland, Greece, Spain, France, Croatia, Italy, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Austria, Portugal, Slovenia, Slovakia and Finland.

The European Union (EU27) includes Belgium, Bulgaria, Czechia, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Ireland, Greece, Spain, France, Croatia, Italy, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Hungary, Malta, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Finland and Sweden.

The Hunter , by Tana French

This one, a sequel to “The Searcher,” once again sees the retired Chicago cop Cal Hooper, a perennial outsider in the Irish west-country hamlet of Ardnakelty, caught up in the crimes — seen and unseen — that eat at the seemingly picturesque village.

Wandering Stars , by Tommy Orange

This follow-up to Orange’s debut, “There There,” is part prequel and part sequel; it trails the young survivor of a 19th-century massacre of Native Americans, chronicling not just his harsh fate but those of his descendants. In its second half, the novel enters 21st-century Oakland, following the family in the aftermath of a shooting.

In 1970s Philadelphia, an alien girl sent to Earth before she’s born communicates with her fellow life-forms via fax as she helps gather intel about whether our planet is habitable. This funny-sad novel follows the girl and her single mother as they find the means to persevere.

Knife: Meditations After an Attempted Murder , by Salman Rushdie

In his candid, plain-spoken and gripping new memoir, Rushdie recalls the attempted assassination he survived in 2022 during a presentation about keeping the world’s writers safe from harm. His attacker had piranhic energy. He also had a knife. Rushdie lost an eye, but he has slowly recovered thanks to the attentive care of doctors and the wife he celebrates here.

Everyone Who Is Gone Is Here: The United States, Central America, and the Making of a Crisis , by Jonathan Blitzer

This urgent and propulsive account of Latin American politics and immigration makes a persuasive case for a direct line from U.S. foreign policy in Central America to the current migrant crisis.

The Wide Wide Sea: Imperial Ambition, First Contact and the Fateful Final Voyage of Captain James Cook , by Hampton Sides

By the time he made his third Pacific voyage, the British explorer James Cook had maybe begun to lose it a little. The scientific aims of his first two trips had shifted into something darker. Fi: A Memoir , by Alexandra Fuller

In her fifth memoir, Fuller describes the sudden death of her 21-year-old son. Devastating as this elegant and honest account may be — it’s certainly not for the faint of heart — it also leaves the reader with a sense of having known a lovely and lively young man.
