Introduction

The BS (CS) program is offered by the Department of Computer Science, AIOU. It is a four years degree program, covering the recent trends in hardware, software and communication technologies. The program provides an understanding of the field through concepts, theory and techniques. The Allama Iqbal Open University was established in May, 1974, with the main objectives of providing educational opportunities to masses and to those who cannot leave their homes and jobs. During all these past years, the University has more than fulfilled this promise.

Regional Offices

The university has established 48 Regional Campuses with associated setup of 7 Model Study Centers working across the country. The Regional Campuses provides the tutorial and academic support to the students by hiring the services of qualified tutors and resource persons. Each group of students is allocated an e-tutor within his/her Tehsil by using an automated tutor allocation system. AAGHI Learning Management System (LMS) is used as a digital platform for providing tutorial and academic support. The students upload their assignments on LMS which are evaluated by the e-Tutors with comments. The semester workshops are also conducted in an online mode using the LMS. The Regional Campuses also arranges Examinations at Tehsils and provide admission offering services to the students at their door step.
