The Teacher I like The Most

Teachers are highly respected not only in India but everywhere in the world. However all teachers are not alike, some are highly intelligent, some are mediocre, some are respected, while some are feared by the students.

There are around sixty teachers in my school. But I like Mrs. Vandana Gupta the most. I like and respect her very much. She is an ideal teacher and is highly qualified also. She teaches us English. English is also my favourite subject and she teaches it very well. She teaches Eighth, Ninth and Tenth grades. She is very soft spoken but keeps her dignity in all the circumstances.

She treats all students alike and is very devoted and hard working teacher. She has quite knowledge of her subject. She understands the student’s problems and also gives extra time to the weak students.

She is very dignified and although she expects discipline from her class, at the same time she cracks jokes with the students too and acts as their friend. She is very popular among the students because she listens to their problems not as a teacher but as their friend.

She encourages students to read a lot to improve their English pronunciation and grammar. She also motivates student to take part in extracurricular activities, so that they can be all-rounder.

For me, she is not only an ideal teacher but also my friend, guide and philosopher.

As children, we all are forever indebted to the teachers who made us into great positions where today we are. From pre-school onwards, I have had the opportunity to learn from numerous teachers, but there is one teacher who stands out among them all. Undoubtedly it is my English teacher whom I met through my primary-level studies. My English teacher's impact on my studies and personal development has been truly profound throughout my study period. Let's have a journey through my personal experiences to describe in detail why she becomes the teacher I like the most.

So the following are the reasons for being her the best teacher that I have ever met.

She always created a nurturing environment for all the students to learn.
She had the kindness that sets her apart from others.
She could transform English lessons into joyful journeys where we weren't bored.

Still, I can remember my first day at school when I met my English teacher. From the moment I first stepped into the classroom for English lessons, I was greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. That environment made my studying an enjoyable and exciting activity that I engaged with determination and enthusiasm. My English teacher, who has been with me since grade 6, always captivates my attention with her vibrant personality and expertise. Her nature of being kind and compassionate to others encouraged us to be such persons while getting her character as an example for us. Further, she showed us that being kind and compassionate to others has the possibility to make a positive difference in others and we can lead a happy life as a whole.

Throughout the study period, my English teacher shared with us not only knowledge but also valuable life lessons. She worked with enough determination to make us rich with both knowledge and attitudes since she had identified the need for these both. She emphasized the practicality of learning a second language for a person. As she highlighted the doors that it can open for us in the future, we studied hard to achieve those. We were encouraged to find and study a wide range of subjects that we should know other than the English language. Further, she fostered a well-shaped education rich with both knowledge and skills. Then she showed the need of having the enthusiasm to learn further and broaden the horizons of our lives.

Even though I have met many teachers in my life, I would like to conclude that my English teacher holds a significant place in my life since she provided unwavering support in my studies and to be a great person with both knowledge and skills. I should say that the teaching style, creativity, kindness, and courage of my English teacher undoubtedly could make my learning journey a joyous experience. If she wasn't there I wouldn't have achieved the success that I have today with me. How to Ace Your First Year of Teaching

When I began this essay in May, there were only 22 days left in the school year. Some were calling it the end of the year, but I called it 22 opportunities to grow as an educator.

Just kidding. I am not that teacher, and this is not that essay.

I am a teacher, though, and now I’ve finished my 10 th year in an 8 th grade classroom in the Philadelphia school district. Back in 2013, I completed my delightful-suburban student teaching and received a delightful-suburban wooden plaque that said “Student Teacher of the Year.” I was convinced I was the next big thing in education. I fantasized about my own TV show: a “Nanny 911”-style show, except with teaching, where I go into struggling classrooms and transform them into education showplaces.

Three months later, I started my actual career in Philadelphia. If I deserved an award, it would have been a yearbook superlative simply saying “worst.” Everything from my classroom culture to my instruction spiraled out of control my first few months, and the reality of having my own classroom in an underresourced community hit me hard. I crashed and burned because I thought I could waltz in from a suburban high school, where entire teams of seemingly well-rested staff members dedicated their resources to ensure every child attends college, and deliver that exact type of lecture-style instruction to 8 th grade children in a school that didn’t even have enough desks.

But now it’s 10 years later, and I’m still here. I’ve turned it around and I want to help you do the same. I’ve worked closely with many student-teachers, graduate students in yearlong mentorship programs, and first-year teachers. All these teachers have used at least some of the practices I’m going to share, and I’ve personally witnessed shifts take place within a month.

Before we get to the good stuff, it must be stated that there’s no monolithic urban classroom. However, most schools that enroll predominantly children of color from low-income families struggle with the same core problem—a lack of adequate resources for students, families, teachers, administrators, and even the building you’ll be walking into. Behavior concerns and lower academic achievement are not the root of the problem. Instead, those are the symptoms of a school’s lack of resources. Once you accept this, you can begin adding to the resources by improving the culture and performance of your classroom.

I’ve turned it around, and I want to help you do the same.

Be prepared to have just four walls, 28 desks, and 34 students all with different strengths and needs. If you’re struggling with classroom management, there won’t be a magical “office” where kids can be sent—just a secretary and a principal trying to figure out how to resolve an overflowing toilet when the school’s only custodian is out sick. There aren’t “assistant principals” running around to break up an escalating argument in your classroom. And there’s probably not even a well-stocked “supply closet.”

The only resource you can truly count on is yourself, and my goal is to help you personally create a welcoming, safe, and educational environment for your first year. Here’s what I’ve learned:

1. Teach with kindness. Teach with kindness and you’re more likely to receive it in return. Treat your students like rational adults, and that’s what they’ll eventually become. A simple “Can you have a seat real quick so I can go over this? Thank you!” is significantly more effective and better for everyone’s mental health (including yours) than barking “Sit down, NOW!”

2. Avoid getting into power struggles . When you “demand” a child do something, they’re either going to ignore you, hate you, start arguing, or most likely, all the above. Give each child a choice. “I need you to sit down or else I won’t be able to give you credit for this assignment.” This shows the truth: “Our teacher technically can’t force us to do anything, but there are consequences, and we get to make a choice about those.”

3. Communicate with families . If you’re anxious about calling, just text them. No matter how “tough” a kid might seem or no matter what you think you know about their home life, almost all of them have someone in their life that they want to make proud.

4. Establish rules and consequences . To this day, I still have three rules: Stay in your seat, keep your hands to yourself, and don’t talk across the classroom. If a rule is broken, have a clear and immediate consequence (incorporating the tip above is easy).

5. Stop yelling. Yelling is just exhausting yourself. I’ve never had a “good scream” in my life nor have I ever thought while being screamed at: “I’m going to work harder now to please this person.”

6. Face your classroom at all times . Whether you’re answering your classroom phone, taking attendance, or helping a student, turn your body to get a clear view of all children at all times.

7. It’s OK to ask your students to wait. If a student needs help, has a concern about their grade, or wants to tell you about their birthday, make sure that your classroom is completely safe and calm before giving students individualized attention. You’ll learn early on that it helps teach students patience and it’s not a human-rights violation to tell your frequent flier students “Ask me again in 10 minutes” when they ask to use the restroom.

8. Don’t stress about your administrators. It’s OK if your administrators don’t always like what you’re doing. You don’t need to wow them—this isn’t a corporate job, and you won’t get fired, especially if you’re in a union. Instead, your relationship with your administrator should be collaborative. Ask their opinion, hear it out, then do what’s best for you.

9. Enjoy yourself. There’s a teaching adage that says “Don’t smile until December.” Smile on the first day of school, and if you can, smile the next day, too. If a kid says something funny, you’re allowed to laugh. Students will match your energy and your mood, and if you create a positive classroom, you’ll feel the impact when you go home and so will they.

Every teacher, child, class, and school is different, but I believe these are universal tips that can help any teacher, even the ones who won’t crash and burn at the start of the year the way I once did. I wish you luck in your journey!

He has always a smiling face. He greets the students when he enters the class. He says there is divinity in all. We bow down to this divinity in a man. The students all greet him with respect in return. He has great love for all the students – even the naughty ones. His amiable nature has won over even the most unruly boys in the class. He explains everything so lucidly that even the uninteresting subject like English grammar proves to be interesting. We all admit that we are much benefited by his teaching. We hope we shall not fail in English in our final examination.

Why he is my ideal Already I have said that Barun Babu can teach his subject very well. We cannot but admire his mode of teaching. I have also said that he has an amiable nature and a smiling face which naturally draw us to him. He is a very simple man. His dress is simple but neat and clean. There is a firmness in his character. He has dedicated his life to the cause of teaching. He is unmarried. He does not care so much for money. His wants are few. An intricate interplay

By highlighting hundreds of so-called "marker words" that became significantly more common in the post-LLM era, the telltale signs of LLM use can sometimes be easy to pick out. Take this example abstract line called out by the researchers, with the marker words highlighted: "A comprehensive grasp of the intricate interplay between [...] and [...] is pivotal for effective therapeutic strategies."

After doing some statistical measures of marker word appearance across individual papers, the researchers estimate that at least 10 percent of the post-2022 papers in the PubMed corpus were written with at least some LLM assistance. The number could be even higher, the researchers say, because their set could be missing LLM-assisted abstracts that don't include any of the marker words they identified.

Before 2023, it took a major world event like the coronavirus pandemic to see large jumps in word usage like this.

Those measured percentages can vary a lot across different subsets of papers, too. The researchers found that papers authored in countries like China, South Korea, and Taiwan showed LLM marker words 15 percent of the time, suggesting "LLMs might... help non-natives with editing English texts, which could justify their extensive use." On the other hand, the researchers offer that native English speakers "may [just] be better at noticing and actively removing unnatural style words from LLM outputs," thus hiding their LLM usage from this kind of analysis.

Detecting LLM use is important, the researchers note, because "LLMs are infamous for making up references, providing inaccurate summaries, and making false claims that sound authoritative and convincing." But as knowledge of LLMs' telltale marker words starts to spread, human editors may get better at taking those words out of generated text before it's shared with the world.

Who knows, maybe future large language models will do this kind of frequency analysis themselves, lowering the weight of marker words to better mask their outputs as human-like. Before long, we may need to call in some Blade Runners to pick out the generative AI text hiding in our midst.

My favourite teacher is my History teacher. She is an elderly lady with immense knowledge. Her class is my favourite thirty minutes of the day. She has been teaching in our school for a long time and is a well known face in our school. With a calm demeanor and a knack for historical wars, she makes learning history a fun-filled affair.

In her class, almost every student pays attention to what she says. She uses the help of diagrams and charts to make us understand even better. She never reacts harshly with anyone. She makes sure that her students are comfortable with her and are not threatened by her.

Education | superintendent speaks out on tiktok attack on teachers by middle schoolers: ‘we are all upset by this.’.

And, apparently, it has a problem with social media among some of its middle school students.

This week district Superintendent Daniel F. Goffredo responded to reports that several Great Valley Middle School students had created fictitious TikTok accounts that impersonated teachers and posted inappropriate material that was attributed to them.

About one-quarter of the school’s faculty were targeted by fake accounts that posted “pedophilia innuendo, racist memes, homophobia and made-up sexual hookups among teachers,” according to a report in The New York Times . The fake accounts are the first known group TikTok attack of its kind by middle schoolers on their teachers in the United States, the report claimed.

“I reiterate my disappointment and sadness that our students’ behavior has caused such duress for our staff,” Goffredo said in a statement posted on the district website. “Seeing GVSD in such a prominent place in the news for behavior like this is also disheartening.”

“I think we are all upset by this,” Goffredo said Monday. “To me it is a universal issue. We are all concerned.”

Goffredo, who has been Great Valley superintendent since 2020, said the district had communicated with local law enforcement about the issue and that some of the students had been disciplined for their actions. There have been no arrests. Charges that the students could conceivably have faced include harassment or stalking, both misdemeanors.

A spokeswoman for East Whiteland Police Chief Chris Yeager deferred questions from MediaNews Group about the matter to the District Attorney’s Office.

District Attorney Chris deBarrena-Sarobe on Monday declined to address specifics about the TikTok accounts but said that he “is continuing to offer our assistance to the East Whiteland Police Department as they monitor the situation.”

He did note, however, that his office has a process in deciding whether to charge a juvenile.

“Generally speaking,” said de Barrena-Sarobe, a resident of the district with school-aged children, “when deciding whether to charge children with a crime, we work on a case-by-case basis and evaluate a number of factors.”

Those include the law; the seriousness of the offense; the strength of the case and available evidence; whether there are administrative remedies available by an institution, such as a school; and the age of the offender. Those 16 and older are more likely to be brought into the juvenile justice system than younger offenders, he said.

“The Chester County DA’s Office is committed to protecting our teachers,” he said. “Beyond that, we decline to comment further about this investigation at this time.”

Some of the fake TikTok accounts used staff members’ names as their handles. Students made memes that ranged from benign to sexualized by using images from the school’s website or family photos the teachers posted online or in their classrooms, according to reports.

During the school year, Great Valley officials took steps to address the TikTok attack. Principal Edward Souders sent emails to parents in March. The school held an eighth-grade assembly on responsible technology use, and several students were briefly suspended. School officials met with the impacted teachers and removed their photos from the online directory. Accounts that were flagged on TikTok as impersonating were deleted when ID information could not be validated.

Two female students posted an apology video in June through a TikTok handle that used the name of a seventh-grade teacher, according to the Times . They claimed in the video that they planned to post new videos but would make them private at the beginning of the school year, “’cause then they can’t do anything.”

On Friday, the students deleted the apology video and removed the teacher’s name from their account after a reporter asked the district to notify parents about the impending publication of the Times story. The students also added a disclaimer that they’d no longer be impersonating their teachers.

In his statement and in subsequent interviews, Goffredo indicated that his administration, including principals, teachers and staff, continue to work on the problems.

“Over the summer, district administrators are working to identify clear and actionable ways that our already established focus on digital citizenship might be strengthened in our curriculum,” he said. “We are also planning how to reestablish a culture of trust and caring districtwide, but especially in our middle school where the behavior of our students has had a profound impact on our staff.

“While it may be easy to react in a way that suggests that students should have been more heavily disciplined in school, some, but not all, of their behavior is protected by the right of free speech and expression. After consulting with our legal counsel, and based on each unique posting, the district enacted whatever discipline it could, communicated with families, and implemented measures in an effort to prevent future behavior like this.”

Goffredo urged district families to work with its staff.

“Your partnership is critical,” he said. “As a school district, our greatest asset is our collaboration between home and school. As we plan for the next school year, I implore you also to use the summer to have conversations with your children about the responsible use of technology, especially social media. What seemingly feels like a joke has deep and long-lasting impacts, not just for the targeted person but for the students themselves. Our best defense is a collaborative one.”

“I have always valued your partnership and will continue to do so as we move ahead,” the superintendent said.

Hillary Clinton: I’ve Debated Trump and Biden. Here’s What I’m Watching For.

Last week I had the time of my life at the Tony Awards introducing a song from “Suffs,” the Broadway musical I co-produced about the suffragists who won women the right to vote. I was thrilled when the show took home the awards for best original score and best book.

From “Suffs” to “Hamilton,” I love theater about politics. But not the other way around. Too often we approach pivotal moments like this week’s debate between President Biden and Donald Trump like drama critics. We’re picking a president, not the best actor.

I am the only person to have debated both men (Mr. Trump in 2016 and, in the 2008 Democratic presidential primary race, Mr. Biden). I know the excruciating pressure of walking onto that stage and that it is nearly impossible to focus on substance when Mr. Trump is involved. In our three debates in 2016, he unleashed a blizzard of interruptions, insults and lies that overwhelmed the moderators and did a disservice to the voters who tuned in to learn about our visions for the country — including a record 84 million viewers for our first debate.

It is a waste of time to try to refute Mr. Trump’s arguments like in a normal debate. It’s nearly impossible to identify what his arguments even are. He starts with nonsense and then digresses into blather. This has gotten only worse in the years since we debated. I was not surprised that after a recent meeting, several chief executives said that Mr. Trump, as one journalist described it, “could not keep a straight thought” and was “all over the map.” Yet expectations for him are so low that if he doesn’t literally light himself on fire on Thursday evening, some will say he was downright presidential.

Mr. Trump may rant and rave in part because he wants to avoid giving straight answers about his unpopular positions, like restrictions on abortion, giving tax breaks to billionaires and selling out our planet to big oil companies in return for campaign donations. He interrupts and bullies — he even stalked me around the stage at one point — because he wants to appear dominant and throw his opponent off balance.

These ploys will fall flat if Mr. Biden is as direct and forceful as he was when engaging Republican hecklers at the State of the Union address in March. The president also has facts and truth on his side. He led America’s comeback from a historic health and economic crisis, with more than 15 million jobs created so far, incomes for working families rising, inflation slowing and investments in clean energy and advanced manufacturing soaring. He’ll win if that story comes through.

But it was Pickford 's new appearance that dominated the reaction from supporters.

Just one simple change had many fans doubting it was really the Three Lions' quarter-final shootout hero in the photo.

Gone was the Everton keeper's slicked-back hair, in came a tidy, even old-fashioned, look.

One fan posted: "Seeing Pickford without his hair slicked back is like seeing your teacher outside of school..."

And just a day after Pickford produced the only spot-kick save needed to KO Switzerland, his fresh-faced look was compared to the difference between docile character Kent and heroic alternative self, Superman.

Well, the 66-cap ace between the posts is almost like kryptonite to opponents in shootouts at major tournament.

Pickford has now saved four out of 14 such penalties - compared to just two being kept out by all other England stoppers from 1990 to 2012.

Some of that that, however, might be down to his "secret weapons" - like inside tips on penalty takers written on his water bottle , as against the Swiss.

Yet despite his prominence, fans were still baffled by the effect of a simple new look.

He looked the most innocent of the foursome - smiling angelically at the back behind Kane, Luke Shaw and Three Lions' training keeper Tom Heaton.

One supporter said: "How has his whole face just changed just because his hair isn’t slicked back."

But with the Three Lions potentially just two games and a week from glory, Pickford will hope it's a case of new hair today, new gong tomorrow.

BUKAYO SAKA showed huge courage as he dug England out of a hole and through on penalties against Switzerland, writes Tom Barclay.

The Three Lions looked to be going out when Breel Embolo had put Swiss ahead on 75 minutes.

But Arsenal star Saka dragged England back into five minutes later with a stunning effort off the post.

To penalties it went - just like it did between these two sides five years ago in the Nations League.

And just like back then, Jordan Pickford made a save - repelling the Swiss’s first effort from Manuel Akanji.

England were perfect from then on, with Cole Palmer, Jude Bellignam, Saka, Ivan Toney and finally Trent Alexander-Arnold sending the Three Lions into the semi-final.

Jordan Pickford: 7

Had his heart in his mouth when Xherdan Shaqiri’s corner deep into extra-time hit the post and bar, but then pulled off a smart stop to take it to penalties.

Saved Manuel Akanji’s first spot-kick by diving low to his left.

Kyle Walker: 6

Spent most of the game on the right side of a three which meant he could not get forward. Embolo got in front of him for Switzerland’s opener. Won the toss so the penalties were taken in front of the England fans.

John Stones: 6

Crisper passing in the first half, much better than his sloppy Slovakia display, but his deflection on Dan Ndoye’s cross diverted it to Embolo.

Ezri Konsa: 6

Was decent in the first half of his maiden start at a major tournament but, like the rest of the team, went into his shell after the break.

Kieran Trippier: 6

Had been expected to play right wing-back but was once again on the left.

Solid defensively but, as has been the case throughout the tournament, offered little going forward on his unnatural side.

Declan Rice: 7

Anticipated, and subsequently, won a number of 50-50s at the base of England’s midfield.

It was his decoy run that opened up the space for Saka to find the corner, before his 25-yard wonderstrike was denied by a flying Yann Sommer save in extra-time.

Kobbie Mainoo: 6

Some decent drives forward from midfield. Looked as if he would fire home an opener just before the break after

Bukayo Saka’s nice cutback, but was denied by Granit Xhaka’s excellent block.

Bukayo Saka: 8 and STAR MAN

Did not play at left wing-back as expected, but was England’s most dangerous attacking player throughout - and none more so when he came to the rescue with his 80th-minute leveller which flew in off the post.

Showed huge courage in the shoot-out as he stroked home his penalty beautifully, three years on from missing in the last Euros final.

Jude Bellingham: 6

Produced a few graceful dribbles which showcased his quality in the first half but pretty quiet.

Looked knackered but showed big cojones with his low penalty.

Phil Foden: 6

Admitted before the game that his central role would suit him better and it seemed to in the first 20 minutes, but faded after that.

Harry Kane: 4

This system just does not suit him. He needs runners, but does not look like he is going to get them.

Just could not get into the game and was subbed out of it in extra-time, seconds after he was sent crashing into his manager on the touchline.

Cole Palmer (for Konsa, 78): 7

One of three players to come on in reaction to Switzerland’s opener - why did it take so long, Gareth? Dispatched England’s first spot-kick with aplomb.

Luke Shaw (for Trippier, 78): 6

First minutes of football since February, slotting in on the left side of back three as Southgate went for broke.

Eberechi Eze (for Mainoo, 78): 6

Carved out a nice bit of space for himself in the dying moments but fired wide.

Ivan Toney (For Kane, 109): 7

It was no surprise to see him come with the prospect of penalties on the horizon - what was more of a shock was that it was for spot-kick maestro Kane. Was knocked over in the box right at the end of extra-time, but nothing was given. Confident penalty.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (for Foden, 115): 7

Thrown on late into extra-time. Belted home his spot-kick to win it.

Gareth Southgate: 4

The adjusted back three system worked to a certain extent, but still the approach looked to be to keep it tight and rely on a moment of magic.

Saka provided that for the leveller, but given the talent at his disposal, it seemed very limited.

Took an age to make a change - prompted only by Switzerland going ahead. But got his subs right when it came to the penalty shoot-out.
