How I Spent My Summer Vacation Essay for Students and Children

100 Words Essay On How I spent My Summer Vacation

The ideal time to have true fun is when on a summer vacation. My vacation this time gave me the right opportunity to try new things and learn new skills. I enrolled in a summer camp during my break. I took part in camp activities including karate, yoga, painting, singing, and dancing. On the fifteenth day of the training, my trainers organised a trip to the nearby park. We all had a terrific time despite the bad weather. I had my first experience with animals up close. I had a lot of memories from camp. I made some new friends and participated in all the activities.

200 Words Essay On How I spent My Summer Vacation

All of the kids who have struggled all academic year with tests and homework look forward to summer break. During this time, kids are unconstrained and free from parental or academic pressure to spend their days doing whatever they like. Most students choose to take a relaxing trip to a hill station, a hamlet, or another location with their parents or friends. However, vacations can also be enjoyed when they are spent at home.

My Summer Vacation

I made the choice this year to remain home for the summer instead of taking a trip. To use my free time productively, I enrolled in programmes where I studied canvas painting and concurrently began learning table tennis. In the afternoons, I aided my mother in the kitchen and my father with a few accounting-related jobs. I felt the most connected to and engaged with my family during this period. I then went out with pals for the remainder of the evening. Additionally, I watched a few movies and web series. These TV episodes and films not only entertained me, but also gave me some valuable life lessons.

I used my summer break to spend more time with my family and myself than I could have during the school year. I came to see how productive and fulfilling spending vacations at home truly was.

500 Words Essay on How I spent My Summer Vacation

Since there is no academic pressure or mental stress over the summer, it is thought that this is the perfect time for kids to learn more about themselves and their environment. Additionally, this provides them with much-needed relief from the sweltering heat. Summer vacations provide a terrific opportunity for kids to take a stress-relieving excursion and be outside, something they can't do with their busy schedules during the year.

My Visit to a Hill Station

This year, our family decided to take a summer vacation to a hill station. The visual splendour of several attractive locations in India is well-known, including Mussoorie, Ooty, Wilson Hills, Kufri, Nainital, Manali, Kerala, and Rishikesh. We debated which hill station to visit for a while before deciding on Shimla.

Our Trip to Shimla

My family and I drove to Shimla in our car and arrived early in the morning. We then proceeded right away to the hotel that we had reserved. Shimla has everything to entice travellers, from opulent hotels to gorgeous settings, and mall lanes to retail streets teeming with people from many cultures.

The tour was scheduled to last five days. We visited Mall Road and Jhaku Hills, two of the city's most popular tourist destinations, on the evening of our first day of travel. There are several events taking place there in the evening. Experiencing Shimla's nightlife was also incredible. We went to the Footloose Discotheque, which was packed with lively people and humming with wonderful music.

We rode the toy train the next day. This miniature train travels between Kalka and Shimla. Only 3 such trains operate in our country, and this one is one of them. Even though they move slowly, passing through them is fun. Skiing and bungee jumping were among the winter sports we engaged in that evening.

The next days were spent travelling to towns close to Shimla including Chail, Kufri, and Chitkul. Along with admiring their stunning natural beauty, these locations may be visited for some snowy adventure.

For foodies like myself, Shimla is also a nice treat. Shimla's cuisine is peculiar in that there is no middle ground, with little eateries serving just quick food, fine restaurants serving costly booze, and cafés serving a range of teas and cold beverages. Indulgent salami burgers were what we enjoyed on weekdays on our evening stroll.

We used to become exhausted in the evening after all these days full of activity, but the nightlife there or just gazing up at the stars made us feel really happy and re-energized. Curvy roads force one to see those beautiful hills from all directions, big trees that are standing erect, and that brisk air that exalts one's spirit and emotions.

After five days in Shimla, full of enjoyment, we returned to Delhi. This trip's memories are still fresh in my mind and I have taken many pictures to show to my friends. Shimla is unquestionably the queen of the hill towns. I’m definitely looking forward to the next time we visit.

One of the main benefits of attending a summer camp is the opportunity to participate in new and exciting activities. Children can try their hand at new sports, explore their creative side through arts and crafts, and participate in educational programs that can help to develop new skills and interests. Summer camps also provide a safe and supervised environment for children to socialize and make new friends, helping to boost their confidence and self-esteem.

Another advantage of summer camps is that they provide a break from the routine of school and homework, allowing children to relax and have fun. They also provide an opportunity for children to gain independence, as they are often away from their parents for an extended period of time. This can help to develop their decision-making and problem-solving skills.

Summer camps can also be beneficial for parents, as they provide a convenient and safe option for childcare during the summer months. Parents can be assured that their children are well looked after, and are participating in activities that are both fun and educational.

However, summer camps can also be expensive, and not all children have access to them. In addition, some summer camps may not be well-supervised, which can pose a safety risk to children. It is important to research the options available and choose a camp that is well-run, affordable, and meets the needs and interests of the child.

Summer camps are of extreme importance to for the children. Summer camps provide young children with a sense of independence when they spend several days without their parents. Kids learn to take care of themselves and their belongings and socialize with other kids in the camp.

There are various kinds of camps. One of these is a nature camp where kids are supposed to stay at a place disconnected from the hustle of city and technology. Camps disconnect kids from gadgets and internet and compel them to learn and adjust in a new environment amid nature. They learn to appreciate nature and indulge in various physical activities during the camp. In addition to all of this, they acquire problem solving skills and take responsibility for their actions. Essay on Summer Camp in My School – 3 (400 words)

Summer camp is an essential part of school life which should not be ignored among the hustle and bustle of academic life. Different schools have different methods of conducting summer camps. These camps include all kinds of activities such as camping, hiking, swimming, music, dance and anything and everything one can imagine. Parents these days are becoming more and more aware about the importance of summer camps for a child’s overall development.

Summer Camp in My School – A Great Learning Experience

Just like various other schools that give utmost care and attention to the overall development of their students, my school also conducts summer camps to further this. Various teachers from our school volunteer to help organize the summer camp to make it an extremely memorable experience for everyone. I have enrolled for many of these camps in the last few years.

During these camps, we are given a huge bunch of activities to choose from. Every year different themes are used for the summer camp activities. During one of these camps, the theme of the camp was ‘Culture’. We were taught about various cultures in depth and were also equipped with practical knowledge about those cultures such as their music, cuisine, lifestyle and endless such aspects.

We as students were made to brainstorm on the customs and traditions of various cultures. At the end of the camp we were asked to share what we learnt with everyone. This was a really interesting activity as we got to listen to everybody’s perspective about the importance of the camp. Our teachers also came up and shared their views on the importance of such camps and the positive impact they have on our young minds.

This camp was a memorable experience for all of us as at the end of it, we took home many important skills and lessons. This camp not only taught us about various cultures and their lifestyles but along with this we learnt to work efficiently as a part of a team. Along with this, we learnt to socialize with other people and develop better communication skills.

As a student, I’ve experienced the importance of summer camp in a child’s development. In addition to these skills, summer camps provide students with a much needed get away from everyday studies. We learn to make decisions and take calculated risks on our own and understand the importance of clear thinking and teamwork. Summer camps are the most beautiful memories of school life as they involve new activities which in turn fill the young minds with vigour and enthusiasm.

Essay on Summer Camp Experience – 4 (500 Words)

Summer camps are supervised camps conducted to entertain as well as equip students with various life skills such as teamwork, socializing, decision- making, independent and responsible living and more. It aids the overall development of a child and in addition to all these perks, children have fun during this process as they get to explore entirely new arenas and expand their reach. This is a widely accepted drill by the schools for the students.

My Summer Camp Experience

Here I’d like to share my own experience with a summer camp in grade 6. Our school organised a little 3 day camp to a nearby hill-station. Many of our regular teachers joined us along with hike counsellors and tour guides who were extremely experienced in camping activities. We were given special instructions about discipline and behaviour which has to be maintained while at a high altitude place.

We started the journey in a bus where we played team games to socialize with students from other classes. Upon reaching our destination, we were informed about various aspects of camping and about everything we should pay attention to it. It was a first multi-day trip without our parents for most of us.

It was a challenge as we had to take care of ourselves and our belongings in the absence of our parents who usually complete most of these chores for us. This taught us about living independently and taking up responsibility. While on the campsite, all the students were divided into groups and were given various tasks such as helping to set up tents, gathering firewood and arranging food.

These tasks gave us a chance to work in teams and know each other well. After the hard work, we were served delicious but simple food.

Once done with the dinner, every student helped tirelessly to clean up the surrounding areas and wash the dishes. These things develop helpful nature in the kids and inculcate a fine habit of completing their work themselves.

We were taken into the woods to hike and explore nature and its elements. There we were taught about the importance of various vegetation and we also learnt about the local wildlife. While hiking in the dense and endless woods we received a chance to explore the intricacy and wonders of nature.

The entire camping experience holds an overwhelming amount of life skill to learn and apply. I feel extremely lucky to have got the chance to experience this time as it taught me values of life. Every parent should ensure that their child spends enough time in understanding and exploring nature rather than indulging in technology all the time. Nature teaches us the concept of simple living and provides serenity to our minds in our fast moving lives.

Keeping in mind the vast difference this little endeavor creates in a child’s development schools across various countries have started organizing such camps. These are aimed at ensuring the overall development of a child along with academic excellence. Students as well as parents must encourage the students to participate in such camps.

A Long Essay  on “How I Spend My Summer Vacation”

Summer vacation is one of my favorite times of the year as almost every year me and my family make plans for long vacations. Summer is an ideal time for us to go on stress-free trips and get closer to nature, something we are unable to do throughout the rest of the year due to our hectic schedules.

We generally go to meet our grandparents or go on a trip with family and friends. This year, I went on a trip to the hill stations of Ooty along with my parents, grandparents and cousins. The most important thing about these vacations is the time spent with family during these vacations we make life-long memories.

We started the vacation by going to the native village of our grandparents, which is around 100 km away from the city in which we reside. My cousins and our extended family also joined us in our ancestral home. We then took a train to Ooty.

The train ride was filled with laughter and songs, and I greatly enjoyed the ride. We got to see the beautiful landscapes of India on our way to the destination. We reached our Ooty in the evening. It is a small hill station with beautiful natural scenery and vegetation.

I started the next day with an early morning walk with my grandparents and cousins. I then ate my breakfast after which the whole family traveled around the town. I learnt about the birds and trees of the hill stations. During nights I and my cousins would hear stories from my grandparents. I thoroughly enjoyed these stories. At the end of my trip, we went shopping to take some mementoes to my hometown.

Despite the fact that my summer vacation was longer, the trip was by far the most memorable experience I had at that time. I am very grateful for the time I spent with my family. During the vacation, I not only learnt new things about the natural and cultural heritage of the place but also had a great time with my family. I like summer vacations and have the satisfaction of knowing that I have utilized my time productively.

Short Essay On Summer Vacation

Long essay on summer vacation, what will your child learn while writing an essay on summer vacation.

Summer vacations are every student’s favourite time of the year. Children eagerly wait for months for their summer vacation to start and do all the fun things they have planned with their friends, siblings and families. It is the school term’s longest vacation of the year, so students enjoy a good break from their daily routine. They can sleep late, spend more time playing with their friends, go on holidays with their family or use the time to learn something new. While they get a break from the regular classes, students get homework from their teachers to be completed during the holidays. A commonly assigned holiday homework is to write an essay on summer vacation. While older kids may find it easy to write on this subject, younger children of classes 1, 2 and 3 may find it tricky to express themselves on pen and paper.

Here are some samples of summer vacation essays in English that will help young kids write this essay independently.

Summer vacations are the happiest time for all students. During this time, they get freedom from getting up early for school and doing homework. Summer vacation starts just after commencing a new grade or after the final exams, making it the perfect time for students to relax after loads of studying. And some kids get to do all of these things during their summer vacations.

My Summer Vacation

I am one such lucky kid as my parents take me to visit my grandparents’ house in the village every summer vacation. There, I get to meet my cousins, uncles and aunts. Together we all spend a few days enjoying relaxed village life.

We water the plants and learn to plant new saplings. At night, my grandmother tells us interesting stories. She is also an excellent cook. We all get to enjoy her delicious dishes daily. My aunt is a good painter. Every year, she teaches drawing and painting to all of us kids. We also go to a nearby dance school to learn dancing.

After spending a few days with my grandparents and cousins, my parents take me on holiday. Every year, we visit different tourist places, and this year, we plan to go to Goa and spend a few days enjoying the sun, sand and the sea . We plan on exploring the lush waters while trying out some fun new water sports and activities. We also want to walk around old Goa, taking in the architecture and natural beauty and shop from street vendors. We usually return home a few days before the summer vacation ends. I use that tim e to complete my school work and prepare my books for the school reopening. I also spend time playing with my neighbourhood friends in the evening. We all enjoy playing cricket in the colony playground.

Places To Visit During Summer Vacation

Here are some of my favourite places to visit during summer vacation:

  • Goa: Known for its beautiful beaches, water sports, and vibrant culture, Goa is an ideal destination to enjoy the summer sun.
  • Mysore: Mysore is a city in Karnataka famous for its palaces, temples, and wildlife sanctuaries.

What our campers say:.

“This experience helped me grow because I was in a supportive community of writers. It was amazing to hear so many different perspectives.”

Cameron Hunt, 14

“Having another perspective on one’s work can be a very enlightening experience and it doesn’t have to be scary. My mentor was able to point me to new possibilities for my writing and my characters, and I’m very grateful for it. It’s really fun to give people reviews on their work.”

Minna Chow, 16

“I have grasped a better understanding of myself as a writer. I have learned the importance of balancing plot and description and dialogue, as well as integrating them in a more seamless manner. It’s a very positive and safe community to share and improve your work.”

Virtual Writing Camp is an excellent way for teens ages 13-19 to explore a variety of writing genres within a supportive community of educators, authors, and peers. Whether your teen is an avid author or penning their first piece, we welcome their participation and will provide personalized feedback to accommodate different skill levels and strengths.

Yes. For camps that entail writing in a group on our website, the dedicated team of Write the World (WtW) trained site moderators will monitor young writers’ content following established guidelines. WtW is committed to maintaining a supportive writing community for its members.

Campers will work in small cohorts of about 20-25 teens to maintain cohesion and support community building.

WtW Virtual Writing Camps are led by members of the WtW team, trained authors and educators who work with our global community of young writers year-round. You can learn more about your teen’s teacher(s) on the product page of your chosen Write the World camp.

We will host 90-minute synchronous camp sessions, involving interactive writing activities, through video conferencing via Zoom each day. (Note: in most cases, these will take place from 11a.m.-12:30p.m. ET, but we will attempt to accommodate different time zones; if necessary, sessions will be recorded for those individuals who cannot make the live meetings). Then, in most cases, your teen will have a specific set of prompts and/or peer reviews to complete each day. This self-guided writing should consume approximately 2 hours each day, depending on your teen’s pace and approach, for a total of approximately 4 hours of camp engagement each day.

Yes! We are pleased to offer 15% off when you purchase two workshops or more.

Participants may cancel their registration for the camp at any time up to 10 days prior to the first day of the camp, and they will be entitled to a refund of the fees paid, less a $50 cancellation fee. Any cancellations made within 10 days of the first day of the camp will not be eligible for a refund. The participant must notify the camp organizer of the cancellation by email, and the date of receipt of such notification will be considered the date of cancellation. The camp organizer reserves the right to cancel the camp in case of any unforeseen circumstances, in which case participants will be entitled to a full refund of the fees paid.

The Unique Burial of a Child of Early Scythian Time at the Cemetery of Saryg-Bulun (Tuva)

<< Previous page

Pages:  379-406

In 1988, the Tuvan Archaeological Expedition (led by M. E. Kilunovskaya and V. A. Semenov) discovered a unique burial of the early Iron Age at Saryg-Bulun in Central Tuva. There are two burial mounds of the Aldy-Bel culture dated by 7th century BC. Within the barrows, which adjoined one another, forming a figure-of-eight, there were discovered 7 burials, from which a representative collection of artifacts was recovered. Burial 5 was the most unique, it was found in a coffin made of a larch trunk, with a tightly closed lid. Due to the preservative properties of larch and lack of air access, the coffin contained a well-preserved mummy of a child with an accompanying set of grave goods. The interred individual retained the skin on his face and had a leather headdress painted with red pigment and a coat, sewn from jerboa fur. The coat was belted with a leather belt with bronze ornaments and buckles. Besides that, a leather quiver with arrows with the shafts decorated with painted ornaments, fully preserved battle pick and a bow were buried in the coffin. Unexpectedly, the full-genomic analysis, showed that the individual was female. This fact opens a new aspect in the study of the social history of the Scythian society and perhaps brings us back to the myth of the Amazons, discussed by Herodotus. Of course, this discovery is unique in its preservation for the Scythian culture of Tuva and requires careful study and conservation.

Keywords: Tuva, Early Iron Age, early Scythian period, Aldy-Bel culture, barrow, burial in the coffin, mummy, full genome sequencing, aDNA
