Two formats depending on design application you have. There are several different flier templates in each. The pink color in the templates is an image placeholder. There shouldn't be pink in your final product.

Note: Please do not alter the logo or add any more logos. If you need to recognize a specific program, center or external partner, you can do that in the text at the top and/or in the signature at the bottom. If you need to add a second signature line, make sure to provide adequate distance between it and the logo.

Center logos have limited usage. They may be used on internal communication and swag; however, templates should be followed if they are available. This includes fliers, PowerPoint, posters, etc. On items for which there is no template, please try to add the college name to the piece whenever possible, but do not try to make the name look like it's part of the logo. When in doubt, please contact Kathryn .

The new fonts are a little trickier to use than in the past. BEFORE you download OSU fonts on URM’s page for typography , FIRST read these instructions .

Note: There are alternatives already on your machine.

• Verdana is the substitute for Kievit . To be used on body copy ONLY .
• Georgia is our serif font. It is best suited for headlines and subheads, and should NOT be used for body copy.
• Impact and Verdana are OK replacements for Stratum . This is for headlines 18 points or larger.

Personal pronouns in Zoom

Don't forget to add your personal pronouns. Open Zoom and click on your icon/photo in the top right corner. It will prompt you to log in/authenticate. On the page that opens, click on “edit” to the right of your name/photo/icon. For your first name, enter your full name. For the last name, enter your personal pronouns. Save. That’s it!

Ecampus PowerPoint Template Use

Powerpoint template use in developing course content.

In online course development the production of narrated lectures that serve as course content if common. Often faculty turn to presentation software, such as PowerPoint, as the foundation of their presentation.  Using PowerPoint for narrated lectures means faculty must consider developing presentation slides that are accessible , attractive, and visually focused. This is not an easy task without some guidance in these areas of presentation design. This is where PowerPoint template use comes in handy.

The Ecampus design team at Oregon State University has produced a series of PowerPoint templates to assist faculty produce effective, accessible, and visually attractive presentations. The templates are available via the PowerPoint Guidelines and Templates website that provide not just the templates but also best practices in template use.

How Does This Work?

On the site Ecampus faculty can find templates developed with seven different designs. Each has an application for a given area of the university or function. To illustrate this point I have placed an image of a template title slide for the College of Forestry design.

Using this template faculty can edit the text and background image to create their own custom PowerPoint design. Below is the entire College of Forestry design series. In it you can see that there is good variety of slide types and design layouts.

Adapting Templates

Adapting the template for other course uses if fairly straight forward. Simply collect the images you wish to insert into the template and add the pertinent text. Below is an example of an adapted series of slides turning what looks like a forestry presentation into an organic agriculture presentations.

With seven different templates to choose from faculty have a wide range of design options for narrated lectures using PowerPoint. These designs are also accessible and are visually consistent. Slide types vary to allow faculty to focus presentation attention on the subject at hand. This can save faculty time and effort in narrated lecture production. If you are an Ecampus faculty and you would like to learn how to edit and utilize this templates resource, ask your instructional designer.

The Ecampus PowerPoint Guidelines and Templates website is another example of how faculty and students benefit from the dedicated team of designers and multimedia producers at the Oregon State University Ecampus.

Need some advice on how to start? 

Consider these points when designing your poster:

• We really would prefer to have your raw working document!  
• Only embed high quality images in your poster. Pictures can be scaled down, but they can't always be scaled up  
• Check for watermarks on your images! Don't just take the first thing you find on the internet  
• SPELLCHECK  
• Avoid lots of black or dark colors. Dark colors means more ink -- which can bleed into other colors; and is expensive  
• Consider only using 4 colors in your poster  
• Send in the poster as soon as you can -- especially during the busy spring term   
• Check your ONID e-mail. If there's a problem with your poster, we'll let you know immediately. This is also how you'll know your poster is ready for pickup

Accessibility for Microsoft 365

Microsoft 365 offers online versions including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and OneNote that are available in a web browser. This makes its accessibility features work a little differently than Office desktop programs. For example, keyboard shortcuts might not be the same and the page layouts are different. However, all the keyboard shortcuts and other accessibility features that you know from the browser work in Office Online. You can also use the browser controls to zoom, to change text size, and to control screen colors.

The online applications provides WAI-ARIA support for assistive technologies (WAI-ARIA stands for Web Accessibility Initiative-Accessible Rich Internet Applications). If you use an assistive technology such as a screen reader or speech recognition software, you will have the best experience in Office Online if the assistive technology that you use supports WAI-ARIA.

Note: VoiceOver users on the Mac OS X platform may experience mixed results in accessibility depending on the web browser being used. The Safari web browser is recommended for Office 365 Online.

I chose this school because it is close to home and has a good Marine Biology program. Costs AT OSU Finance At Oregon State the cost of one year of schooling is $35,000 There is also many options for finical aid and scholarships, you just need to apply. Scholarships at OSU There are lots of scholarships available at Oregon State. They can cover anything from living costs, tuition, or research. They are relatively easy to apply for and have different deadlines for each one. Scholarships Why is this a good fit? More Info This is a good fit for me because it is cheaper than other colleges I would go to. For example, Stanford has one year of tuition that is around $50,000. Another reason its good is because of the financial aid opportunities. Social Activities at OSU Social Oregon State has hundreds of clubs that you can join. They also have non-competitive and competitive intermerial sports programs that you can be involved in. Where is osu located? Location As previously stated, Oregon State is located in Corvallis, OR. From Redmond its about a three hour drive. I like this because I am somewhat far from family but close at the same time. I also have two sisters that live close to Corvallis. Marine Biology I want to go to OSU for Marine Biology, so it is important that know everything they offer. There are lots of fields in Marine Biology. You can be a Shark Biologist or somebody that studies shellfish. Oregon State requires that you spend at least four years or complete 31-34 credits. You also have to spend a term at Hatfield Science Center in Newport, OR. ACADEMICS Hatfield Science Center In Newport, there is a small place called Hatfield Science Center. They have a bunch of things involving the ocean there. They have tide pools with sea urchins, sea anemones, and sea cucumbers. They even have an octopus at the entrance. Oregon State University hosting in-person shark dissection at McMenamins

PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — Oregon State University’s Big Fish Lab is giving a “grand finale” presentation of its educational “Summer of the Shark” series — which includes an in-person shark dissection — at McMenamins Bagdad Theater and Pub in Southeast Portland on July 23.

The event includes lectures on the types of sharks found on Oregon’s Coast, the lives of mother sharks and the risk of shark attacks. The event also includes trivia, discussions with local shark experts, and, once again, a shark dissection performed live.

“Don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity to meet Oregon’s shark scientists and learn about the important work they do,” Mcmenamins announced. “And we’ll be projecting the dissection onto the theater screen, so you don’t miss out on any of the details. And just in case you’re wondering, don’t worry: the shark died of natural causes.”

Doors open for the event at 6 p.m. and the show will run from 7 to 9 p.m. Tickets for the event are $12 for adults and $8 kids 17 and younger.
