Reading And Reflecting On Texts Short Notes In English - Reading And Reflecting On Text Practical File Notes PDF For B.Ed 1st and 2nd Year in English Medium

What is literacy.

Literacy in its simplest form means the skill of reading and writing.

Definition of Literacy:

Oxford dictionary explains it as 'ability to read and write' or competence or knowledge in a specified area.

But in the educational aspect, literacy is more functional in its application.

Therefore, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) defines literacy as the "ability to identify, understand, interpret, create, communicate and compute, using printed and written materials associated with varying contexts.

  • Literacy in its meaning includes broader aspects than just reading and writing ability.
  • Literacy is the tool to make the true meaning of your environment.
  • Literacy, as defined in Census operations, is the ability to read and write with understanding in any language.
  • A person who can merely read and not able to write would not be considered to be literate.

Basic Braille Literacy

Literacy is the tool for equality and inclusion . Braille Literacy has a whole new meaning in India as half of the world population with blindness lives here.

Therefore, Braille literacy is of utmost importance in education.

  • Learning Braille would require a fundamental development of tactile movement and also the child must have exposure to the concept of reading and text.
  • Teaching and learning Braille is a skill-based activity that must be done under supervision.
  • Teachers must remember that it is a highly individualized process as the life experience of the learner varies greatly and affects his understanding.
  • Their skills and developmental levels vary radically.

There is a various institute which provides training for Braille learning.

  • Currently, the E-Braille transcript system on a computer made it user-friendly and more accessible.
  • With NGO and Govt. collaboration a greater number of institutes are able to provide e-Braille to the learner for their daily usage.

In education, Reflecting is the higher level of learning. Therefore, to reflect upon a text, to achieve comprehension in reading learner has to work hard on certain skills.

Practicing Responses to Text: Personal, Creative and Critical

Response to text.

  • Too often we have reduced reading into a phonics and grammar practice. But to be literate, one needs to read things critically. Proper reading is part of 'instrumental literacy'.
  • Instrumental literacy is made up of all those proficiencies one needs in order to be able to access a text and understand what it is doing to readers.

1. Personal Response

A personal response to a text involves almost the same format as any other response but the difference is in the element of response. Here subjectivity is much more appreciated.

The main concept is what the text tells us personally? For that past experience of the individual is the most influencing factor.

  • One same text can mean various different things to the reader as the experience involving the general area will be different.
  • While responding to the text the reader must remain personal as you are responding to something of your choice.

Forms of Personal Response Texts

Personal responses can be made using any of the forms like :

  • Short Stories
  • Screen Play
  • Diary Entry
  • Commentary Etc.

2. Creative Response

Being able to respond creatively is one of the highest achievements in learning but it requires a free and spontaneous environment. To respond creatively to a text student, need to practice main to skills thinking and responding on that thinking creatively.

For a creative response, the reader must have a good grasp of the text.

After that reader has a choice to follow the writer’s way of thinking and add something or can present an argument against it.

Keys to Creative Response

The key to a creative response is

  • Asking in-depth questions to find new answers.
  • Choosing the right character or idea to emphasize is very important.
  • In fiction, the reader may go beyond the time frame of the text to be creative.
  • Getting your thinking cap on.
  • Text can be analyzed as a whole or in parts that make sense to you.
  • The response may be practiced verbally or non-verbally.

3. Critical Responses

To be able to make a critical response requires a heist of abilities and practice. World-renowned teachers help built various models to aid students in this style.

While analyzing the Critical Response Process Deborah Lee Luskin mentioned workshop is one of the best techniques to develop critical responses.

In a workshop on responses on text (ideally in presence of creator or writer, the teacher being the facilitator) the below-mentioned steps can be followed:

  • Statements of meaning on the basis of the text.
  • Thinking like the creator/writer of the text.
  • Questions from reader
  • Interaction with follow up questions

In another view Bartholomew Brinkman gives away three secrets to respond critically:

  • Manipulation
  • Interpretation

For beginners, it is advised to start practicing critically respond to a text by following criticisms already present on the text, if any. This reception is the primary step for responding critically later.

Metacognition can be defined as "thinking about thinking."

Good readers use metacognitive strategies to think about and have control over their reading.

  • Before reading, they might clarify their purpose for reading and preview the text.
  • During reading , they might monitor their understanding, adjusting their reading speed to fit the difficulty of the text and "fixing" any comprehension problems they have.
  • After reading, they check their understanding of what they read.

Students can be asked to share the following:

  • Identify where the difficulty occurs?
  • Identify what the difficulty is?
  • Restate the difficult sentence or passage in their own words.
  • Look back through the text
  • Look forward to the text for information that might help them to resolve the difficulty.

There are various ways to help students develop good reading skills in Primary level students. Some of them are as follows:

1. Using Various Type Of Material:

Different format of material helps students of this standard to remain motivated and become curious to explore new.

2. Playing With Words:

It is very important to enrich students' word storage.

3. Reading Must Be Communicable:

Students must be encouraged to use reading in communication.

4. Reading In A Group:

Group activity is beneficial for so many reasons in the teaching-learning process.

5. Continuous Assessment:

It is not easy to measure reading skills if not done methodically and continuously. It must be documented from the very beginning and in detail.

Comprehending a text has various techniques. For a learner with a hearing impairment or learning disability, the question remains what more technique should we involve so that the student is able to comprehend the text.

For a hearing-impaired learner, the difficulty in comprehending a text is because of missing out on significant auditory information.

Also, in formal education more than often comprehension of text is compromised for time restraints, and the impact of this trend of hearing-impaired learner effects far more gravely as they do not only fail to learn the process but now have to adjust with artificial inactive learning.

  • Research summarized by Snow, Griffin, and Burns (2005) encourages conversations with peers and grown-ups before, during, and after read-aloud time to nurture literacy, as well as routine conversations with expert communicators such as teachers, peers, and parents to help children develop their background knowledge of the language.
  • They also encourage the development of phonemic awareness in meaningful contexts through wordplay activities, such as reading in character and using interactive books.

Forms of Learning Disability:

Learning disabilities are related to neurological processing problems and these interfere with learning abilities. Learning disabilities are of various forms like

  • Auditory Processing Disorder
  • Dyscalculia
  • Language Processing Disorder
  • Non-Verbal Learning Disability
  • Visual Perceptual / Visual Deficit And Many more.

All of these are related to specialized counseling. Therefore, the teacher has to go through proper training on how to help these learners. But the key approach is to enhance the ability of the environment so that differently-abled learners become as comfortable as any other.

The most fascinating part of learning is to achieve higher skills and the path to travel for that. In-text response skill development too, various type of text demands different skills be developed.

Reading comprehension is a much-required quality in education. Teachers need to understand all aspects of comprehension to help students develop them.

Comprehension can be achieved through various using different methods. There are conscious plans - sets of steps that good readers use to make sense of the text. These instructions help students become purposeful, active readers who are in control of their own reading comprehension.

Some of the comprehension skills to be taught and applied in the teaching-learning situation are:

  • Summarizing
  • Inferencing
  • Contrasting And
  • Ask Question

1. Retelling

Retelling is when a reader tells the story in his / her own words with great detail.

  • Retelling gives an opportunity to the reader to process what they have read, seen, heard, smelled, or touched by organizing it and explaining it to others.
  • Therefore, it involves good communication skills too.
  • Retelling would typically involve two processes, deconstruct and reconstruct.

2. Summarizing

Summarizing is a higher-level activity in reading text.

Summarizing requires students to apply the skill of determining importance in text and then express the important ideas in their own words.

Propose Of Summarizing

  • To identify and organize important information
  • To verify the meaning of the text
  • To get the core of the text and understand the main idea
  • To make whole sense of the text

3. Answering

The most used comprehension process in teaching-learning is answering. Answering question from a text is the basic and easiest process to evaluate the degree of comprehension.

For students, it is always advised to make themselves familiarize themselves with the type of question they can face. Questions give a direction on how the students need to study the text.

While preparing the answer one important step is to identify the main idea and then identify the supporting ideas. To the point, the answer is primarily finding out the main idea rightly.

4. Predicting

Predicting is a tool for attentive reading. Before or during reading we could train ourselves to predict the text and that would engage the mind to stop it from deflecting to anything else.

Basically predicting gives us purpose to read and it gets our mind ready to read.

Different aspects of predicting text :

  • The title of the text lets the reader predict the content of the text
  • A reader can think about the structure of the text beforehand too
  • Prior knowledge and experience of reader helps to predict too
  • Ask question within like who might be, what might happen etc
  • During reading prediction must be regularly updated and refined to a new understanding, this would keep the reader engaged

5. Commenting

To make a comment is based on judging.

  • Comments are not just arbitrary remarks but based on value judgment.
  • Linguist says that commenting involves the process of deconstructing the text to be able to make a comment.

6. Discussing:

  • Discussion holds a very important place in comprehending a text.
  • Discussion not only helps in understanding the text but also helps the learner to acquire the skill of presenting personal arguments properly.

Responding To Recreational Reading Material:

For the earliest of time, educators have incorporated recreational reading into classrooms to practice reading. Research studies show that students who read by choice read more than others (Aranha,1985).

In education, recreational study is not a standalone activity. It incorporates all the other activities in a literacy process involving learners.

  • Make RR one element of a balanced reading program
  • Incorporate teaching word identification and comprehension strategies to supplement RR
  • Introduce the material through book walks to increase children's interest
  • Schedule RR at the same time daily
  • Change the physical environment
  • Read daily for an appropriate time length
  • The teacher must start knowing about individual students liking and level of reading
  • Teachers must also guide students on their book selection and reading habits like bookmarking etc
  • Establish classroom libraries with a wide array of reading material
  • Rotate and add new material to the classroom library
  • Students should be given some goal, page number wise or any other way

School textbooks are mostly non-fictional and therefore at times fail to motivate a student to study.

It is of utmost importance to find a proper text for students. Otherwise, the way of responding is similar to narrative text.

Only the content varies and therefore while writing an answer it becomes a more formal affair than a liberal one.

To understand writing as a process, one has to think like a reader.

  • What do we like to read?
  • How the presentation affects our reading quality?
  • What makes a good read?
  • How much of that is latent in writing quality?

Even a good plot falls flat as a thriller because of bad writing. If each idea blurs into the next without serving any purpose, then the writing fails to impress.

A. The audience of a Content:

The first step of content writing is identifying the target audience to understand their demand. A detailed and accurate understanding of whom you are writing to is of much importance.

Type Of Information One Need To Understand About The Audience

The type of information one need to understand about the audience are as follows:

1. Demographics:

2. education:.

  • Education considers the audience's level of schooling.
  • If audience members have earned a doctorate degree, for example, you may need to elevate your style and use more formal language.
  • Or, if audience members are still in college, you could write in a more relaxed style.

3.Prior knowledge:

4. expectations:, b. organizing content:.

Content refers to all the written substance in a written document. Organizing content is done after selecting the purpose and audience. The main objective is to choose what kind of information will be given in that content.

Content may consist of:

  • Testimonies And
  • Observations

But no matter the type, the information must be appropriate and interesting for the audience and purpose.

Key To Develop A Good Content

The key to developing good content has the following rules:

  • Find the key concept
  • Review, research and start writing
  • Final edit to get the finished product

Process Of Content Writing

The process of content writing, in general, involves the following steps:

  • Final product

Editing is done after the draft text is ready and needs to be screened for a final copy. Editing can be done by the writer himself or herself and also by someone other than the writer.

Self Editing

Self-editing is the process that every writer goes through after they complete a draft of their written work.

Editing, in general, includes checking things like:

  • Typing Error
  • Missing Words
  • Clarity Etc.

Peer Editing

  • Peer editing adds to the knowledge of the writer and many types of research show that peer editing also affects motivation for a good write-up.

Peer editing helps students explore learning opportunities and build new knowledge by directing their limited and selective attention to problems of content and organization in their text.

Writing is primarily of two kinds,

  • FREEHAND OR

But to practice writing, there are different stimuli involved. A picture description, some idea to expand or to write an essay or story, are the perfect practices to develop writing skills.

Writing A Picture Description:

The primary purpose of any kind of descriptive writing is to write in a way that a picture is formed in the minds of the reader. It may be about some

The description writing can be practiced by using pictures and giving it a voice through words.

The main focus in describing a picture is to pay close attention to details. That can not be achieved through one single step. Therefore students must be guided through the following steps:

Steps of Writing A Picture Description

  • Selection of an appropriate picture
  • Discussing main issues in the picture
  • Let the student write the first draft description on the picture
  • Discussing and feedback for the final draft
  • An open discussion to evaluate each progress
  • Suggestion for further development

Expansion Of Idea

To explain an idea properly the writer must be clear on two things.

  • What constitutes that idea and
  • what the writers stand on it.

One has to be very clear about these before starting to write about them.

While writing, the topic must be stated clearly. Else readers won’t be able to follow the logical progression.

Writing an Essay

The main objective of writing an essay is to clearly and logically express an idea or theme. But essays are not mere paragraph writing, generally, more than four paragraphs are there in an essay and each paragraph stands on its own yet interwoven to uphold one theme or idea throughout the essay.

Basic Structure Of An Essay Is

  • Introduction
  • Body (2/3 or more paragraphs)

Writing a Story

Practicing writing stories would be considered the highest level of creative expression as far as practicing writing is involved. Like any other creative output, it would be completely wrong to give some methodical steps for story writing.

But students writing stories as creative expression involves multiple benefits and needs to be supported.

Application Writing:

Each application has specific agenda to present but overall the structure is formal and does not vary much.

In the body of an application, three things must be stated clearly.

  • What you are applying for,
  • why you are suited and
  • what you are looking for.

While writing we have to remember that applications should always remain formal and can never be written in a personal tone.

Agenda Or Minutes Writing:

Agenda and minute both are related to the meeting.

  • Agenda is the outline of what to be discussed in a meeting.
  • Minutes are the summarized proceeding in a meeting.

These are formal writing formats but vary from institute to institute.

Note Taking Practice:

In the classroom, one major challenge for students is how to balance between listening to what is going on in the classroom and also keep a note about it. Note-taking is a purely skill-based activity that involves more than one senses to be at their best skill at the same moment. Therefore one has to learn

  • What To Write And
  • What To Discard In A Note.

Graphical representation became a mandatory part of any representative format in this technical age. As technology made things easier to apply now there are various apps available for converting information into a meaning full presentation via graphics.

These representations include

  • Timelines And

In school education representation of mere data or information into graphics is very important in modern education. Graphics make information more meaningful and related to reality also easily related to life experiences.

How To Use Graphics?

  • Show the data
  • Induce the viewer to think about the substance rather than about methodology
  • Represent large data sets in a relatively small space
  • Make large data sets in a relatively small space
  • Encourage students to make comparisons between different pieces of data
  • Reveal the data at several levels of detail
  • Serve a reasonably clear purpose
  • Be integrated with the statistical and verbal descriptions of the data

The exam are happening at right time but the results declaration is so annoying and late but you can achieve good marks if z You are good at writing skill .

LLDIMS REVIEW

The fee structure at my college included tuition fees, service fees, and other compulsory charges. Tuition fee increases occur annually, typically at a rate of 3-5%. The complete cost of education encompassed these tuition fees, additional service fees, and various other compulsory charges, such as lab fees and library charges.

Highly effective and well qualified, their approach to teaching was student-centred, engaging, and encouraged critical skills, and real-world experiences. Course content was given to us. Faculty members are approachable and available, discuss academic interests, very polite.

Great environment and infrastructure facility along with excellent accedmic curriculum

Curriculum is designed to give 360 view to students all skills and knowledge required to be a teacher . And seminars and webinar organised to improve efficiency of students. All two years students are prepared well to handle the pressure of work in all conditions and readiness to participate in all events. Students can be encouraged or provided with more time to practice their skills. Exams are conducted internally and mid term and final examination. Level of examination is average to hard as it depends on students understanding and their engagement in classroom discussion

In a class of 60 students 1 teacher, not much impact on learning each students is paid equal attention in class by all teachers. Teachers are experienced and provide mentorship to students in all fields not only accedmic but in life too. Teachers are present till 5 pm and students can approach any teacher any time till college timings. After college each student is provided with a mentor teacher whom they can approach any time as they are available in campus for all issues students can call them and discuss.

An Honest Review of Tezpur Central University

The faculties are so good they are highly qualified and they have so many knowledge on various fields.. the faculties are from different backgrounds and we learnt multicultural aspects from them They are very supportive and helpful they treat students as their own children They called the students as bacche which is very positive

Internships Opportunities :

As we are B. Ed students so we have to go to a 4 months internship program and we have to go to local schools to teach the students Before the internship there is a pre internship program where we learn everything about the internship There are total 16 components that we have to complete in the internship

The best University and the the best experiences.

Campus life :.

The university have 3-4 places where regularly meet ups are held among all the students on the current affairs and different aspects of their academic courses. Technology provisions are available in all the departments and centres classrooms, ICT digital blackboard are found in 2-3 classroom of each department and centers. Also their is a big auditorium in the university which facilitates live international conferences in the university campus. Also their is the conduction of high level professional and academic events, meetings with knowledgeable resource persons from time to time. Which gives many unlimited scope for smooth connection with the global world. Recently in March 2024 a 3 days International Literature Festival had been conducted in the university which facilitated the coming of more than 50 national, international and local writers, poets and authors from all over the country and world. These experts shared their experiences and their achievements to the students for 3

The courses offered in the university are very professional. Professional in terms of application and way of dealing. I particularly chose the b.ed course in the university considering its varied syllabus and curriculum patterns; the course offered a robust amount of both academic as well as nonacademic practical knowledge and wisdom which will help everyone to face life with utmost courage, sincerity, discipline, and flexibility. The university follows a semester examination system which means final semester exams are conducted twice a year. The best part is that apart from the final examination the departments and centers conduct sessional examinations, seminars, presentations, viva, and home assignments. Because of this I personally chose this University.

A Educational Life in Central University of Jharkhand

Tuition fee for 2 years around 70000 (seventy thousand) Extra cost of living and basic requirements can increase to 200000 (2lakh) Scholarship facilities of different states available like jharkhand scholarship program, odisha Scholarship program, West Bengal scholarship program . Bihar govt Don't give scholarship to students Studying in other states.

Every year all state festival celebrated like sarhul (jharkhand main festival) Library have books for study but it has less books. Since library is made few months ago. Annual sports organised each year. But this year no annual sports organised . Need improvement in all round development of students in terms of physical, social, cultural and values

Best and affordable college for students doing B.ed

The fees structure of my course is 27000 pet year as I am studying bsc bed integrated course so I have 4 years course which is 27000 per year for the 4 years The university provides scholarship for lower castes and economic weaker classes and refund complete money

The faculty members of my college which is affiliated to MLSU is graduated to the field which I am studying and average faculty The interaction between teacher and student is very good They solve our problem in effective way Overall experience is good

A Vibrant Institution for learning and growing!!

UP B.Ed scholarship (for residents of UP) - Amount13000 per year NSP (National Scholarship Pragramme) - amount as you paid to the college on receipt UP scholarship for Other courses - Amount based on the expenditure of the course Classwise scholarship for 2 candidate of the class , who belonged to the weakest economic status. - Amount -2000 My complete expenditure for this course in college was 32000. Apart from this I used to pay 5500 for my monthly hostel charges. College hostel was so expensive that I couldn't afford to stay there. (89000 for 2 semesters) Hence I opted for a hostel outside. I got to attend a Teaching Internship through B.Ed programme as a part of the curriculum but it was unpaid and so rigorous , required lots of efforts.

Annual Day is Held in April Soprts Day is celebrated in March Apart from these , the important days like National Youth Day, Mother Tongue Day, International Yoga Day, Constitution Day etc. are celebrated. Cultural Festivals like Dandiya, Bihu etc are organized. Library is equipped with computers with good internet connection. Our campus has wifi connection. Daily Journal and Newspapers and found easily on the ground floor of the library. The Hindustan Times The Economic Times Hindustan (Hindi) And Local newspapers are hung on the entrance where every student can easily read and get the knowledge of the world around.

Interesting feedback

Internship opportunities are very good. All students go to the government school for 1 to 2 months for teaching students in rular areas . This type of Internship is conducted by college every year and this type of initiatives is very good for both college and students.

All faculty are highly rated and very hardworking . They keeps their eyes on all students very carefully. They provoke students to do well in each field either on sports or educations. They are good in behavior and nature.

Teachers in training at Adamas University

The faculties are great no doubt but mostly it is seen that the good profs leave the uni this is happening so often that now a days every new week we get to see a new prof it becomes hard to catch up on topics done previously as everyone has their own teaching style . We do get all the presentations well explained and also suggestions by our esteemed teachers . Experiencial learning is given atudents are taken to field visits and industrial visits which gives us a better picture of what we are going to do next . We are also taken on excursion this time we went to Sundarbans which was an excellent relief from all the academic stress and also got to learn a lot many things . A lot of weekly activities are there special assembly is held for B.Ed students along with regular assembly .

Firstly there are good placement facility provided by University . Internship opportunities are really a grab for we get international internship opportunities too as Adamas has signed MOU with several countries . The overall curriculum gives a holistic development to students and real world applications becomes easier as we are taken on field trips and insdustrial visits also scholl visits are there . CCA exams are taken every week mostly which does not gives us last minute load on us for End Term exams . The only issues is the university timings 9 to 5 if we are there in university then we really dont get much time to study back at home .

College which improves my Personality

Specific aspect of the curriculum is that i want to become teacher and i had decided to do this course. The curriculum prepares me for real world applications in great manner because of this course i am able to become government senior teacher.

The infrastructure of the college is literally very good , the building of college is very neat and clean and thier is also greenery avilable in college. And many social things like rallys and other activities are their is in college.

Join to understand

Tution fee was normaly high. We know that in the pandemic time tution were our only option. My complete course amount was nearly 200000. There were many types of scholarship. One of college and others were state and central government level.

the student to teacher ratio is 60:1 That impacted me but education was a great experience in my thoughts. that you take from anyone. I liked many faculty of this university they taught me and changed me a lot and it benefited me.

Average DU college experience.

Overall college life is very engaging especially during fest seasons, we get to witness live concerts of famous artists and participate in many different competitions that pique our interests. we get to network during such periods aswell and find new opportunities. College infrastructure is alright but can be better. College clubs also make up much of your college life and these clubs are of many fields like photography sports music, etc.

different papers have different sorts of professors some are amazing and love what they do genuinely and it shows but many others are very inefficient, they may show up to class 40 mins late and not complete the syllabus even by the end of the semester and wont provide notes. we end up having to do everything on our own last minute.

College life at GIAST

The curriculum of Bachelor of Education is very vast. In every semister you have to do internship in best schools provided by the college. There are subjects like Gender, Socity and School organisation, Guidance and Counselling, Environment Studies and so on.

The Guru Gobind Singh Indraprasth Univeristy provides financial assistance to the EWS, SC and St category. This will help to lower the college fee. So the students with low financial budget can also persue the course without any hindrance

Very nice university

There are many program organised as the farewell party fresher party annual first illuminai function and availability of books are good. There are some good materials in the classroom also available sport and track activities offered in the campus also there is no any students and social groups.

Tution fees for this course is very good and this is the one of the best fees in the whole India which is 33000 only is very good amount for the poor student scholarship is also available in this college and also reservation are allowed for the scholarship.

Genuine Review of IES COLLEGE

I am happy to chose this college because this college provides overall devlopement of students and they also arrange expert lecture in order that we have any doubt. Our college arranges regular chargable tour to diffrent places in order to get some extra knowledge. In areas of devlopement we can have a proper smart class in order to enhance learning. Ever 4 month our exams happens so we have to be prepared accordingly. The exams are not that have if you study daily 1 hour then also you can get good marks

For every 10 students here is one staff so the staff gives us proper attention in our studies because there are only 50-55 students in a class so they are albe to give us proper guidance to every students. The faculty here is very supportive and they never hesitate to support us anytime weather in studies or in cocurricular activities. There are TG(Technical Gurdian) assigned for every 5 group of members there is 1 TG so in case we have any doubt you can contact them without hesitating.

My college from my eyes

The teachers there were very sincere and did there job professionally that drew my attention. It helped me in clarity regarding my academic pursuits and career. The teaching methods can be improved by using the digital methods of teaching video lectures, graphics, picture, videos related to topic and showing how the concept is applicable in our daily lives. The exam happened semester wise so not so much burden on students

As it was a government college so the fee structure was minimal and affordable. And there was no extra charges in btw except the examination fee. This course costed me around 4500 per semester. The scholarship is also there for the students. However the campus placement criteria in not effective. No focus on campus placement.

College life

The most famous sinhgad karandak which takes almost one-month to Finnish in which various activities held at national level nd various colleges takes part in it ... As fer as many different types of clubs belonging to rocketry , space robotics , Google developer nd many more held there activities. Every event here executes in well and good manner.

Placement Experience :

Here placement opportunities get each every student of our college depending on there cgpa nd curriculum activities nd many gud companies offer on campus placement nd for that college prepare there students capable and after getting degree I will have experience of one nd half year of job and then I will apply for higher education.

College faculties are too good

Many festival event and annual event are also held in the college and the college library has many genralist and publishing books from which studens study moniter board are used in the class rooms off the college so that the students can understand any topic through 3D diagram many sports competitions orgnized in the college in which the students participate

Many course taught in the college and the teacher's off all the subjects are highly qualified and teach and explain all the subjects well and during the exams teachers prepare the students well and all the students prepare well and give exam and get good marks

Khalsa college review Indore

I want to become a teacher and for that I needed a b.ed degree so the college is very nearby from my location so I decided to choose that. B.ed course is a very orthodox course and you can't modify it the curriculum was according to the syllabus provided by University and at some point I find it related to real world. The course need so much improvement specially it needs to be reviewed because the time is changed now and the course is still same so the psychology of students have also changed so you can not teach them by your orthodox method you need some specialisation in your course. The University try hard to complete exam on time but failed miserably everytime. Because my course duration was suppose to be 2 years but actually it took 2.5 year for the completion.

B.ed course is regulated by state government so the fees structure remain same for the long time so I appreciate the government for this step. I have spent 64000 for the college fees for 2 years and I am not eligible for the scholarship so my total charges for the complete course was approximately 80000. And I think it's a genuine charge. For the students of sc st the tution fees was just 10000 or less than that rest fees was covered from their scholarships and for the obc it was 16000 per year. No campus placement was their still college approached me for the mentorship in their college but I denied.

One bed, two blankets: We put the Scandinavian sleep method to the test

If you sleep with a cover hog, this might be for you.

assignments of b.ed

There are plenty of Scandinavian exports worth embracing, including saunas , Lego , Dansk tableware , the Billy bookcase , Kransekake , Marimekko . So when the Scandinavian sleep method started popping up everywhere on social media , I took note.

The idea: Two people share a bed but use separate covers. The promise: a better night’s sleep. The bedding arrangement is popular in other European countries as well; on a trip to Paris a couple of years ago, our hotel room bed was outfitted with two sets of blankets and top sheets.

But does the method work? And how do you make a bed with two blankets? We put it to the test. We gave five couples two twin-size down alternative comforters each and asked them to try the method for a week. Here’s what they had to say.

Typical sleeping arrangement: Queen-size bed with a flat sheet, blanket and comforter.

Pain points: Tester 1’s husband accuses her of being a chronic sheet stealer, but she thinks the main issue is that they operate at different temperatures: “I am a nuclear furnace when I sleep, while my husband is a block of ice,” she says. Regardless, it seems like someone is always getting shortchanged on covers, or someone is tossing and turning.

How they carried out the test: They used the separate comforters, no flat sheet or blankets.

The experience: She likes to throw her foot or leg out from under the covers when she gets too hot, and the separate covers allowed her to do this on both sides, instead of just one. Another bonus: Lounging in bed on weekends was better with the extra covers. “It was absolutely luxuriant to take over the whole bed and both comforters and do the crossword puzzle,” she says. Her husband liked that he could roll over and move around in bed without affecting his wife.

The bed-making problem: They don’t typically make their bed, so this wasn’t an issue. “No shade on anyone who is put together enough in the morning to arrange their bedding, but we usually leave it in a chaotic state, and tend to reassemble the tangle of sheets into something more coherent as we’re going to bed, not when we wake up,” she says.

The verdict: The arrangement worked well for them, and they may implement it in the future. “The only hesitation is that we have so much bedding, buying more almost becomes a storage problem at this point,” she says. “But I think we slept better and more comfortably, so if I see twin comforters on sale anytime soon, there’s a good chance we will make the switch.”

Typical sleeping arrangement: Queen-size bed with a top sheet and a duvet.

Pain points: Tester 2 and her husband often go to bed at different times, and many nights one of them has to get up to tend to their toddler, which can be disruptive. There are also issues with sharing covers, she says: “One of us (a.k.a. me) is allegedly a cover hog, which means the other of us sleeps in a defensive crouch with respect to the shared covers as a way to maintain some blanket.”

How they carried out the test: They started with the two twin-size down alternative duvets provided, but her husband didn’t like the texture, so he swapped his out for a twin-size quilt they had. And she realized she preferred a bigger blanket, so she swapped in a queen-size quilt. They kept their queen-size flat sheet.

The experience: The test went well for this couple. Even the difference of opinions on the blankets ended up working in their favor. “The idea that we could each seek out a blanket with our preferred texture and warmth level was an improvement on sharing one quilt,” she says. “It was great to each have our own quilt and made for more restful sleeping.”

The bed-making problem: They don’t make the bed daily but like to do it when time allows. Settling on one twin quilt for him and a queen-size quilt for her helped here. During the day, they made the bed with the queen-size cover and folded the twin cover across the bottom of the bed.

The verdict: They said the arrangement was a big improvement on their previous blanket-sharing situation and plan to continue to use it.

Typical sleeping arrangement: Queen-size bed with a top sheet and comforter.

Pain points: Tester 3 says her husband is an occasional cover-stealer, and she’s a light sleeper who wakes easily if he is tossing and turning.

How they carried out the test: They used the twin comforters and skipped the flat sheet.

The experience: Her husband tossed and turned a good bit one night, and got up to use the bathroom several times on another night, but it didn’t disturb her. She says, though, that she’s so used to his restlessness that she might not have been disturbed even while sharing covers. She liked being able to stick her leg out from under the covers on either side. But there were also drawbacks, including getting overheated. “I think during the night, the excess parts of our blankets would overlap on one person or the other,” she says.

The bed-making problem: They folded the twin comforters lengthwise and placed them side by side to give the bed a neat appearance.

The verdict: They plan to keep their original bedding configuration. “I don’t think we saw enough of a positive impact to switch to two blankets,” she says. She also likes having a neatly made bed, which was another strike against the Scandinavian method.

Typical sleeping arrangement: King-size bed with a flat sheet, blanket and duvet.

Pain points: Tester 4 likes to have covers tucked snugly around her, while her husband struggles to keep his side tucked. Sometimes that leads to an uneven distribution of blankets. She maintains that because his covers are untucked, they bunch up at the bottom, creating the impression that she’s stolen them when, in fact, she has not. He admits this possibility: “I think I kick covers off and then overcompensate when trying to recover (ha),” he says. “Then the groggy tug-of-war begins.”

How they carried out the test: They used the two twin duvets provided and dragged out old twin-size top sheets from when their kids were little, giving them completely separate covers.

The experience: The test took cover-stealing out of the equation, and she reports that she was less aware of when her husband got in and out of bed (he goes to bed later — and gets up earlier — than she does). “Something has to go pretty wrong for you to end up with the other person’s covers,” her husband says. “I don’t really see a downside to it. It’s the happy medium between the freedom of separate beds and the traditional way that just doesn’t work for many people.” It didn’t solve his issues with keeping his covers in order; sometimes he woke up with just the duvet and couldn’t find the top sheet. She liked the fact that he couldn’t blame her for this problem anymore. Overall, it improved their quality of sleep.

The bed-making problem: They typically don’t make their bed, so this wasn’t an issue.

The verdict: They have returned to their usual sleeping arrangements for now, but may switch at some point in the future if they find bedding they like.

Typical sleeping arrangement: A queen bed with a flat sheet, blanket and comforter.

Pain points: Tester 5 says she and her partner’s covers come untucked at times, but overall, they don’t have issues with sharing. She sleeps “warm,” so prefers a cool room with a fan pointing at her, and often wakes up under just the sheet.

How they carried out the test: They started with just the separate comforters but missed having a top sheet, so after a week, they brought back a shared queen-size sheet.

The experience: While they slept well during the test, they didn’t notice much of a difference between sharing a comforter or having separate ones. “We already have a comforter we like enough, and both of us prefer to have a flat sheet between the comforter and ourselves,” she says. After a few nights, they added a sheet and blanket for her partner, who sleeps cooler. And after a week, they brought back the queen-size top sheet. Overall, they didn’t notice much of a difference sleeping with two duvets, possibly because they don’t struggle with sharing covers.

The bed-making problem: It’s easier to make the bed with fewer covers, she says, but it definitely looked less tidy. When her parents came to visit, they tossed their regular comforter over the bed for a neater appearance.

The verdict: They felt pretty neutral about the test and have gone back to their regular sleeping arrangement. “I think this is fine when we travel … but isn’t a huge benefit at home,” she says.
