Honors Geometry

These assignments are for any student taking the Honors Geometry course during the 2024/2025 school year.

Students choosing to enroll in Geometry Honors are required to have an understanding of the skills addressed in the summer Edia assignments. It is expected for each skill assignment to be 100% complete by the end of last school day of their first week of class (fall semester due date is Aug. 30 @ 10:30 am; spring semester due date is Jan. 31 @ 2:30 pm). This will allow time during the first week of class to ask for help on any skills that were incomplete.

Purpose :  The purpose of these Edia assignments is to help students and their parents determine whether or not they are prepared for Geometry Honors.

Outcome :  Grades from the Summer Assignments will go into gradebook in the Assignments category. (This category is worth 15% of a student’s quarter grade and will also include other homework and classwork assignments as the school year progresses).   Students who are unable to successfully complete these skill assignments by the due date may not be ready for the content and pace of the Geometry Honors program and may wish to consider changing their schedule to take Academic Geometry.

Help :  Students working on these assignments that require help can email Mr. Bateman at [email protected] .  Emails over the summer will be answered approximately once per week – but I will be out of the country from July 30 – Aug 16 and may have limited access to email.

Summer Reading List

The summer assignments are provided to prepare students for their upcoming mathematics course. It serves as a review of key concepts that will help lay the foundation for the next class. Students are encouraged, over the summer, to review these materials and be prepared in September.

You may be assessed on these concepts during the first week of school, so be sure to let your teacher know upon returning if you still need help understanding any of them.
