Resume Genius takes you step-by-step through the process, prompting you with questions about your education and work experience to help you fill out the applicable sections. Resume Genius is particularly helpful because you can search for a job and see prewritten text for the description that you can add or edit. When finished, you can easily toggle between different templates to see what looks best for the final product. You also have the option to directly share your resume with Indeed or Resume Library. 

The site can also help you build cover letters and curriculum vitae. After you input all your information, you can choose different layout styles and colors. It's easy to move through, but you have to do it in order and fill in all the information before continuing. Resume Genius also offers examples of resumes, CVs and cover letters for specific jobs, as well as recommended jobs near you. You can download the resume you create for $3 (which starts a 14-day trial for Resume Genius Pro), or $8 (which kicks off a monthly subscription plan). If you fail to cancel your trial before the 14 days are up, you'll be billed $24 every four weeks, according to the site. 

On Trustpilot at the time of this publication, the site has 4.6 out of 5 stars based on more than 38,000 reviews. Note that if you register on the site, Resume Genius does collect personally identifiable information and may share it with third parties for advertising and other purposes, according to its privacy policy. Resume Star 2 isn't the most visually stunning resume design app for iOS, but it gets the job done. To use, tap each section of the resume, fill in your information and it will fill in a traditional template (you only get one layout). The app offers some example resumes you can start with and edit as needed, including job-specific ones for a: cashier, dental hygienist, receptionist, waitress, mechanic and senior manager.

The app's interface doesn't offer as much guidance about how to write your resume or what types of information to include. It also includes a job search feature. 

The app collects payment via donations after you use the service -- you don’t have to pay if you don’t want to. The app connects to iCloud, and you can export your resume as a PDF to any location on your device(s). In the past year, people in industries around the world have adopted Copilot for Microsoft 365, testing how it can revolutionize the way they work. The early results show Copilot users spend less time on mundane, energy-sapping tasks and more time on high-level, high-value work, allowing leaders to reimagine their business models and pursue once-impossible bold opportunities. One company even used AI to help develop a product that boosts crop yields. y now it’s clear: AI will transform work for everyone. But some business leaders have moved to the front of the pack. In the past year, people in industries around the world have adopted Copilot for Microsoft 365, testing how it can revolutionize the way they work. The early results show Copilot users spend less time on mundane, energy-sapping tasks and more time on high-level, high-value work, allowing leaders to reimagine their business models and pursue once-impossible bold opportunities. One company even used AI to help develop a product that boosts crop yields.

We asked six early adopters—from advertising executives to accounting experts—how their companies are using Copilot for Microsoft 365 today.

Julie Sweet, Chair & CEO, Accenture

What Accenture Does: Accenture is a global professional services company that creates tangible value at speed and scale by helping businesses, governments, and other organizations build their digital core, optimize their operations, accelerate revenue growth, and enhance citizen services. Sweet’s Role: In just nine years, she rose from a general counsel role to become the first female CEO in the firm’s 35-year history.

Her Experience With Copilot: Sweet made it her mission for Accenture to become one of the first companies to adopt Copilot; this year, she says, Accenture is set to train 250,000 of its 700,000 workers on AI. “We first of all wanted to unlock the personal productivity for our own people. But every minute of productivity they get they’re using to enable our clients.”

Sweet’s big push has already paid off. “The first users told us they saved at least 30 minutes a day, and sometimes up to three hours,” she says. And, while some companies might just dip a toe in the water with a small pilot program, Accenture dove straight in. “We didn’t start with our most junior people,” she says. “We started with our most senior leaders in the first cohort, including me. Now that’s sometimes counterintuitive. But the real power of AI is reinvention, and in order to reinvent, you have to have leaders who understand the power of it themselves.”

Florian HĂ€se, Research Scientist, Bayer

What Bayer Does: Best known as the creator of aspirin, today it’s one of the largest companies in the world, with core competencies in the life science fields of healthcare and nutrition. HĂ€se’s Role: Working in the company’s Computational Life Science department, HĂ€se combs through reams of research to support the search for that one molecule that could lead to a new crop protection product to enable plants to thrive and boost yields. His Experience With Copilot : Bayer Crop Science is focused on finding new ways for farmers to produce more food for the growing world population. To do that, HĂ€se has been using Microsoft Copilot to help pick through research data the company has gathered over the years and even decades. “Not only does it assist me in finding that information, but it also shows how to extract that information from unstructured data sources, whether they’re reports or slide decks,” he says. Copilot also helps him keep up with the latest research, which is essential in a fast-moving field. “It can be quite a challenge to figure out who knows what at which point in time, and getting that contact you need to solve the task at hand,” he says. Before Copilot, he used to spend days and weeks finding that information. “The process has certainly sped up,” he says. “Now you don’t miss out on opportunities to connect with the colleagues you should be talking to.”

James Thomas, Global Head of Technology, Dentsu Creative

What dentsu Does: Global ad agency dentsu connects brand, content, commerce, and experience for some of the world’s largest brands, including Kraft Heinz, Netflix, and T-Mobile.

Thomas’ Role: Thomas is focused on growing dentsu’s Global AI Centre of Excellence (CoE) to help the company harness technology to create innovative, award-winning content for clients. His work used to involve getting input from clients, researching, brainstorming, and “maybe days, weeks, even months later, we’d come back with creative illustrations of the client’s ideas.”

His Experience With Copilot: He says that the process of transforming ideas into images has been reduced from weeks and months to minutes. “We can be ideating, we can have someone in the corner prompting, and by the end of that session, we’ve already got visuals,” Thomas says.

Those visuals lead to quicker, more effective communication with clients—a critical step to keeping clients excited and ensuring that the best new ideas prevail. “The more creative the idea, the harder it is to translate,” he says. “Being able to visualize a lot of these ideas really helps you know if you’re going down the wrong route or the right one. It really gets us where we need to go a lot faster.”

Vicki Holman, Collaboration Platform Owner, Hargreaves Lansdown

What Hargreaves Lansdown Does: The UK-based financial services powerhouse helps 1.6 million customers save, invest, and retire. Holman’s Role: She’s the point person helping Hargreaves Lansdown with its cloud transformation and ensuring that teams get the most from it.

Her Experience With Copilot: Early users have been discovering new ways to cut hours of drudgery out of their workweeks, from generating first drafts of a PowerPoint presentation by pulling material from an existing Word doc to crafting smarter, clearer emails when the words just won’t come. “The average respondents are saving two to three hours a week,” Holman says. “And 90 percent of them felt they would save even more time over the coming months as the product matures and they get a better understanding of how to use it.”

One of the unexpected advantages of Copilot, Holman says, is the positive impact it’s had on the company’s neurodivergent workers. “I hadn’t anticipated it, but the impact we’ve seen on people who have workplace accessibility needs has been incredible,” she says. Workers who can’t maintain focus through hour-long meetings, she says, can record meetings and listen to them later, or get summaries of what they’ve missed. “There’s the reduction of stress, making it more enjoyable to be at work when you’re not struggling to do your tasks and find the information you need.”

Coskun Cavusoglu, Financial Services Tax AI Go-to-Market Leader, EY Americas

What EY Does: This “Big Four” professional services organization provides assurance, consulting, law, strategy, tax, and transaction services to clients in more than 150 countries.

Cavusoglu’s Role: Utilizing leading-edge technology, he collaborates with clients to boost operational efficiency and help manage risks. He is dedicated to transforming the tax function into a crucial element that helps drive value and foster business growth.

His Experience With Copilot: The EY Global Tax team collaborated with our team at Microsoft to build a Copilot plugin proof of concept on a developer tenant, which Microsoft provided. With it, they can directly ask questions of EY sample data, expediting analyses and report creation. The plugin is intended to redefine the report creation experience for EY Global Tax senior executives.

“When implemented, our senior leaders will be able to query all these databases by effortlessly asking questions in natural language and then generating reports,” Cavusoglu says. “We’re going to be able to have not only productivity gains but insights that are going to be served to us in near real time.”

Anup Purohit, Group CIO, Wipro Limited

What Wipro Does: A leading technology services and consulting company with 245,000 employees across 65 countries, Wipro builds innovative solutions that address clients’ most complex digital transformation needs.

Purohit’s Role: He helms Wipro’s digital transformation journey with an AI-first approach.

His Experience With Copilot: In consulting, people are your business. Purohit says that Copilot has already transformed every aspect of his workday, freeing up time to deliver great results for his clients. “I use it when I wake up to check my calendar—it’s totally reinventing the way I look at my daily schedule,” he says. “I use it to summarize emails, especially if there is a long thread with multiple interactions. It helps me to focus on key actions discussed in calls, and I use it to create follow-on actions for my team within 10 minutes of the call completion. It even helps me plan my business trips and personal holidays.”

Update on the Recall preview feature for Copilot+ PCs

Update: June 13, 2024: Today, we are communicating an additional update on the Recall (preview) feature for Copilot+ PCs. Recall will now shift from a preview experience broadly available for Copilot+ PCs on June 18, 2024, to a preview available first in the Windows Insider Program (WIP) in the coming weeks. Following receiving feedback on Recall from our Windows Insider Community, as we typically do, we plan to make Recall (preview) available for all Copilot+ PCs coming soon.  

We are adjusting the release model for Recall to leverage the expertise of the Windows Insider community to ensure the experience meets our high standards for quality and security. This decision is rooted in our commitment to providing a trusted, secure and robust experience for all customers and to seek additional feedback prior to making the feature available to all Copilot+ PC users. Additionally, as we shared in our May 3 blog , security is our top priority at Microsoft, in line with our Secure Future Initiative (SFI) . This is reflected in additional security protections we are providing for Recall content, including “just in time” decryption protected by Windows Hello Enhanced Sign-in Security (ESS) , so Recall snapshots will only be decrypted and accessible when the user authenticates. The development of Copilot+ PCs, Recall and Windows will continue to be guided by SFI. 

When Recall (preview) becomes available in the Windows Insider Program, we will publish a blog post with details on how to get the preview. To try Recall (preview) WIP customers will need a Copilot+ PC due to our hardware requirements . We look forward to hearing Windows Insider feedback.   

Today, we are sharing an update on the Recall (preview) feature for Copilot+ PCs, including more information on the set-up experience, privacy controls and additional details on our approach to security.

On May 20, we introduced Copilot+ PCs , our fastest, most intelligent Windows PCs ever. Copilot+ PCs have been reimagined from the inside out to deliver better performance and all new AI experiences to help you be more productive, creative and communicate more effectively. One of the new experiences exclusive to Copilot+ PCs is Recall, a new way to instantly find something you’ve previously seen on your PC. To create an explorable visual timeline, Recall periodically takes a snapshot of what appears on your screen. These images are encrypted, stored and analyzed locally, using on-device AI capabilities to understand their context. When logged into your Copilot+ PC, you can easily retrace your steps visually using Recall to find things from apps, websites, images and documents that you’ve seen, operating like your own virtual and completely private “photographic memory.” You are always in control of what’s saved. You can disable saving snapshots, pause temporarily, filter applications and delete your snapshots at any time.

As AI becomes more prevalent, we are rearchitecting Windows to give customers and developers more choice to leverage both the cloud and the power of local processing on the device made possible by the neural processing unit (NPU). This distributed computing model offers choice for both privacy and security. All of this work will continue to be guided by our Secure Future Initiative (SFI) .

Our team is driven by a relentless desire to empower people through the transformative potential of AI and we see great utility in Recall and the problem it can solve. We also know for people to get the full value out of experiences like Recall, they have to trust it. That’s why we are launching Recall in preview on Copilot+ PCs – to give customers a choice to engage with the feature early, or not, and to give us an opportunity to learn from the types of real world scenario s customers and the Windows community finds most useful.

Listening to and acting on customer feedback

Even before making Recall available to customers, we have heard a clear signal that we can make it easier for people to choose to enable Recall on their Copilot+ PC and improve privacy and security safeguards. With that in mind we are announcing updates that will go into effect before Recall (preview) ships to customers on June 18.

  • Third, we are adding additional layers of data protection including “just in time” decryption protected by Windows Hello Enhanced Sign-in Security (ESS) so Recall snapshots will only be decrypted and accessible when the user authenticates. In addition, we encrypted the search index database.

Secure by design and secure by default

In line with Microsoft’s SFI principles, before the preview release of Recall to customers, we are taking steps to increase data protection. Copilot+ PCs will launch with “just in time” decryption protected by Windows Hello Enhanced Sign-in Security (ESS), so Recall snapshots will only be decrypted and accessible when the user authenticates. This gives an additional layer of protection to Recall data in addition to other default enabled Window Security features like SmartScreen and Defender which use advanced AI techniques to help prevent malware from accessing data like Recall.

We also know the best way to secure information on a PC is to secure the whole PC itself. We want to reinforce what has previously been shared from David Weston, vice president of Enterprise and OS Security, about how Copilot+ PCs have been designed to be secure by default and share additional details about our security approach. Some notable examples of security enhancements include:

  • All Copilot+ PCs will be Secured-core PCs, bringing advanced security to both commercial and consumer devices. In addition to the layers of protection in Windows 11, Secured-core PCs provide advanced firmware safeguards and dynamic root-of-trust measurement to help protect from chip to cloud.
  • Microsoft Pluton security processor will be enabled by default on all Copilot+ PCs. Pluton is a chip-to-cloud security technology – designed by Microsoft and built by silicon partners – with  Zero Trust  principles at the core. This helps protect credentials, identities, personal data and encryption keys, making them significantly harder to remove from the device, even if a user is tricked into installing malware or an attacker has physical possession of the PC.
  • All Copilot+ PCs will ship with  Windows Hello Enhanced Sign-in Security (ESS) . This provides more secure biometric sign ins and eliminates the need for a password.

Protecting your privacy on Copilot+ PCs

In our early internal testing, we have seen different people use Recall in the way that works best for them. Some love the way it makes remembering what they’ve seen across the web so much easier to find than reviewing their browser history. Others like the way it allows them to better review an online course or find a PowerPoint. And people are taking advantage of the controls to exclude apps they don’t want captured in snapshots, from communication apps or Teams calls, or to delete some or all their snapshots. This is why we built Recall with fine-grained controls to allow each person to customize the experience to their comfort level, ensuring your information is protected and that you are in control of when, what and how it is captured.

  • Snapshots are stored locally. Copilot+ PCs have powerful AI that works on your device itself. No internet or cloud connections are used to store and process snapshots. Recall’s AI processing happens exclusively on your device, and your snapshots are kept safely on your local device only. Your snapshots are yours and they are not used to train the AI on Copilot+ PCs.
  • Snapshots are not shared. Recall does not send your snapshots to Microsoft. Snapshots are not shared with any other companies or applications. Recall doesn’t share snapshots with other users who are signed into the same device, and per-user encryption ensures even administrators cannot view other users’ snapshots.
  • You will know when Recall is saving snapshots. You’ll see Recall pinned to the taskbar when you reach your desktop. You’ll have a Recall snapshot icon on the system tray letting you know when Windows is saving snapshots.
  • Digital rights managed or InPrivate browsing snapshots are not saved. Recall does not save snapshots of digital rights managed content or InPrivate browsing in supported web browsers .
  • You can pause, filter and delete what’s saved at any time. You’re always in control of what’s saved as a snapshot. You can disable saving snapshots, pause them temporarily, filter applications and websites from being in snapshots, and delete your snapshots at any time.
  • Enterprise and customer choice. For customers using managed work devices, your IT administrator is provided the control to disable the ability to save snapshots. However, your IT administrator cannot enable saving snapshots on your behalf. The choice to enable saving snapshots is solely yours.
