Technology in This Generation

We are in a generation, where technology has surrounded us from all sides. Our everyday life runs on the use of technology, be it in the form of an alarm clock or a table lamp. Technology has been an important part of our daily lives. Therefore, it is important for the students to be familiar with the term technology. Therefore, we have provided a long speech on technology for students of all age groups. There is also a short speech and a 10 lines speech given in this article.

Long Speech on Technology

A warm welcome to everyone gathered here today. I am here to deliver a speech on technology which has taken a tremendous role in our day to day life. We all are in a generation where everything is dependent on technology. Let’s understand what technology is through the lens of Science.

Technology comes in the form of tangible and intangible properties by exerting physical and mental force to achieve something that adds value. For example, a mobile phone is tangible, and the network connection used by the phone is intangible. Technology has taken its place as indispensable, wherein it has resulted in economic benefits, better health care, time-saving, and better lifestyle.

Due to technology, we have a significant amount of knowledge to improve our lives and solve problems. We can get our work done efficiently and effectively. As long as you know how to access technology, it can be used and proves to benefit people of all ages greatly. Technology is constantly being modified and upgraded every passing year.

The evolution of technology has made it possible to achieve lots in less time. Technology has given tools and machines to be used to solve problems around the world. There has been a complete transformation in the way we do things because of contributions from scientific technology. We can achieve more tasks while saving our time and hence in a better place than our previous generation.

Right from the ringing of the morning alarm to switching off the fan, everything runs behind the technology. Even the microphone that I am using is an innovation of technology and thus the list continues. With several inventions of hi-tech products, our daily needs are available on a screen at our fingertips. These innovations and technologies have made our lives a lot easier. Everything can be done at the comfort of your home within a couple of hours or so. These technologies have not only helped us in the digital platform but have also given us innovations in the field of medical, educational, industrial as well as in agricultural sectors. If we go back to the older generations, it would take days to get any things solved, even if there were not many treatments for several diseases.

But today with the innovations of technology, many diseases can be treated and diagnosed within a shorter period of time. The relationship between humans and technology has continued for ages and has given rise to many innovations. It has made it easier for us to handle our daily chores starting from home, office, schools and kitchen needs. It has made available basic necessities and safer living spaces. We can sit at home comfortably and make transactions through the use of online banking. Online shopping, video calling, and attending video lectures on the phone have all been possible due to the invention of the internet.

People in the past would write letters to communicate with one another, and today due to technology, traditional letters have been replaced by emails and mobile phones. These features are the essential gifts of technology. Everything is just at our fingertips, right from turning on the lights to doing our laundry. The whole world runs on technology and hence, we are solely dependent on it. But everything has its pros and cons. While the benefits of technology are immense, it also comes with some negative effects and possibly irreversible damages to humanity and our planet.

We have become so dependent on technology that we often avoid doing things on our own. It as a result makes us lazy and physically inactive. This has also led to several health issues such as obesity and heart diseases. We prefer booking a cab online rather than walking a few kilometres. Technology has increased screen time, and thus, children are no longer used to playing in the playgrounds but are rather found spending hours on their phones playing video games. This has eroded children’s creativity, intelligence, and memory. No doubt, technology is a very essential part of our life, but we should not be totally dependent on it. We should practise being more fit and do regular activities on our own to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

The other aspects that have been badly affected us are that since technology replaced human interference, is unemployment. Social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc., were meant to connect people and increase our community circle. Still, it has made people all the more lonely, with cases of depression on the rise amongst the youth.

There are several controversies around the way world leaders have used technology in defence and industrialisation under the banner of development and advancements. The side effects of technology have resulted in pollution, climate change, forest fires, extreme storms, cyclones, impure air, global warming, land area getting reduced and natural resources getting extinct. It’s time we change our outlook towards selfish technology and bring about responsible technology. Every nation needs to set aside budgets to come up with sustainable technological developments.

As students, we should develop creative problem solving using critical thinking to bring clean technology into our world. As we improve our nation, we must think of our future for a greener and cleaner tomorrow. You would be glad to know that several initiatives have been initiated to bring awareness amongst children and youth to invent cleaner technology.

For example, 15-year-old Vinisha Umashankar invented a solar ironing cart and has been awarded the Earth Shot Prize by the Royal Foundation of the duke and duchess of Cambridge and honoured to speak at the COP26 climate change conference in Glasgow, Scotland. Her invention should be an inspiration to each one of us to pursue clean technology.

The top five technologically advanced countries are Japan, America, Germany, China and South Korea. We Indians will make our mark on this list someday. Technology has a vital role in our lives but lets us be mindful that we control technology and that technology doesn’t control us. Technology is a tool to elevate humanity and is not meant to be a self-destroying mechanism under the pretext of economic development. Lastly, I would like to conclude my speech by saying that technology is a boon for our society but we should use it in a productive way.

A Short Speech on Technology

A warm greeting to everyone present here. Today I am here to talk about technology and how it has gifted us with various innovations. Technology as we know it is the application of scientific ideas to develop a machine or a device for serving the needs of humans. We, human beings, are completely dependent on technology in our daily life. We have used technology in every aspect of our life starting from household needs, schools, offices, communication and entertainment. Our life has been more comfortable due to the use of technology. We are in a much better and comfortable position as compared to our older generation. This is possible because of various contributions and innovations made in the field of technology. Everything has been made easily accessible for us at our fingertips right from buying a thing online to making any banking transaction. It has also led to the invention of the internet which gave us access to search for any information on google. But there are also some disadvantages. Relying too much on technology has made us physically lazy and unhealthy due to the lack of any physical activity. Children have become more prone to video games and social media which have led to obesity and depression. Since they are no longer used to playing outside and socialising, they often feel isolated. Therefore, we must not totally be dependent on technology and should try using it in a productive way.

10 Lines Speech on Technology

Technology has taken an important place in our lives and is considered an asset for our daily needs.

The world around us is totally dependent on technology, thus, making our lives easier.

The innovation of phones, televisions and laptops has digitally served the purpose of entertainment today.

Technology has not only helped us digitally but has also led to various innovations in the field of medical science.

Earlier it took years to diagnose and treat any particular disease, but today with the help of technology it has led to the early diagnosis of several diseases.

We, in this generation, like to do things sitting at our own comfort within a short period of time. This thing has been made possible by technology.

All our daily activities such as banking, shopping, entertainment, learning and communication can be done on a digital platform just by a click on our phone screen.

Although all these gifts of technology are really making our lives faster and easier, it too has got several disadvantages.

Since we all are highly dependent on technology, it has reduced our daily physical activity. We no longer put effort to do anything on our own as everything is available at a minute's click.

Children nowadays are more addicted to online video games rather than playing outside in the playground. These habits make them more physically inactive.

We live in the 21st century, where we do all over work with the help of technology. We know technology as the name “technological know-how”. Read Speech on Technology.

Speech on Technology

Also, it implies the modern practical knowledge that we require to do things in an effective and efficient manner. Moreover, technological advancements have made life easier and convenient.

We use this technology on a daily basis to fulfill our interests and particular duties. From morning till evening we use this technology as it helps us numerous ways.

Also, it benefits all age groups, people, until and unless they know how to access the same. However, one must never forget that anything that comes to us has its share of pros and cons.

Benefits of Technology

In our day-to-day life technology is very useful and important. Furthermore, it has made communication much easier than ever before. The introduction of modified and advanced innovations of phones and its application has made connecting to people much easier.

Moreover, technology-not only transformed our professional world but also has changed the household life to a great extent. In addition, most of the technology that we today use is generally automatic in comparison to that our parents and grandparents had in their days.

Drawbacks of Technology

On the one hand, technology provides users with benefits or advantages, while on the other hand, it has some drawbacks too. These drawbacks or disadvantages negatively affect the importance of technology. One of the biggest problems, which everyone can easily observe, is unemployment.

In so many sectors, due to the over practice and much involvement of technology the machines have replaced human labor leading to unemployment.

Moreover, certain physiological researches teams have also proved their disadvantages. Because of the presence of social media applications like Facebook, Whatsapp, Twitter, Instagram, etc. the actual isolation has increased manifold. And ultimately it leads to increased loneliness and depression cases amongst the youngsters.

Due to the dependence of humans on technology, it has deteriorated the intelligence and creativity of children. Moreover, in today’s world technology is very important but if the people use it negatively, then there arises the negativity of the technology.

However, one thing that we need to keep in mind is that innovations are made to help us not to make us a victim of this technology.

How to use Technology?

Today we have technology that can transform lives. We have quick and vast access to the reservoir of knowledge through the Internet. So, we should make good use of it to solve the problems that we have around the world.

In the past, people use to write a letter to people that take many days to reach the destination, like the money order, personal letter, or a greeting card, but now we can send them much easily within few minutes.

Nowadays, we can easily transfer money online through our mobile phone and can send greetings through e-mail within a matter of minutes.

Besides, we cannot simply sum up the advantages and usefulness of technology at our fingertips.

In conclusion, I would say that it depends on a person that to what degree she/he wants to be dependent on technology. Moreover, there is nothing in the world that comes easy and it’s up to our conscience to decide what we want to learn from the things that we are provided to us.

Technology is not just a boom but a curse too. On one hand, it can save lives, on the other hand, it can destroy them too.

Sample Speeches on Technology

A few samples of speeches on technology are given below. Go through them and utilise the resource for your better understanding of the topic.

Just like a coin, technology also has two sides, one is its benefits, and the other is its disadvantages.

There are multiple ways by which technology is favouring the lives of human beings. In the modern world, people are making maximum use of it. Technology became a great boon for us when it marked its advancement in the field of medical science. Through continuous evolution and updation, technology has reached a level that enables us to treat and cure many health disorders, including cancer and other chronic disorders. It has helped to save the lives of many humans, and truly it can be called a ‘life saver’.

The coming of the internet, mobile phones, and computers have eased the process of communication. With the support of all these advanced technologies, communication has become a simpler, faster, and more effective process. Can you imagine spending days waiting for a reply from your beloved ones? How strange will that be, right?

Another main advantage brought by technology is increased productivity. The overall production rate has increased drastically. With the assistance of huge machines and other technologies, the quantity of products has marked a rise without compromising on the quality. Technologies are evolving every single day; new discoveries are made frequently with the help of existing technologies and types of machinery. In one way or another, we can say that technologies aid new discoveries.

Technologies are making our lives easier. Imagine a situation where there is no internet and the world wide web. How will you receive information from all around the world? How long will it take to provide you with the exact information that you need? Will that be an updated one once it reaches you? Technologies are helping us to lead a secure life. Progressive changes that have happened in banking and money management are exceptional as well. Innovations like webcams and surveillance cameras have aided visual communication and security.

The benefits of technology is a very vast topic. Every single aspect of human life has the influence of technology in it. So pointing out each and every benefit of technology is impossible. Even though technology has many advantages, keep in mind that nothing can replace human intelligence. Always try to manage the use of technology, do not let it manage your lives.

We proudly proclaim that humans are the masters of technology; by doing that, we are actually trying to cover the ultimate truth behind it. We are completely dependent on technology. Even if the term advancement is often linked with technology, there exists multiple disadvantages too. With the encroachment of technology, people have lost their social life. It’s the supremacy of Artificial Intelligence (AI) over natural intelligence that is happening in the world right now. Humans are no longer social beings; they are just living beings with digital control.

Technological updates are happening in all sectors, and each and every new technological advancement offers us advantages and disadvantages. Let’s take a look at the disadvantages brought by digital technologies. Personal technologies like smartphones and laptops are isolating people from the larger physical community around them. More than getting engaged in public activities, what excites people more is their time on their personal gadgets.

Real lives and emotions are given very less value in the modern world. Even though technology is helping humans to save enough time, people are busy in their virtual realities. The world of social media is highly influencing the lives of people irrespective of age. People are getting dragged into that cyberspace. Let’s remember the words of Allison Burnett, “Only on Internet Technology can a person be lonely and popular at the same time.” How accurate these words are, right?

We always connect technology with something that is newly happening, right? But is that so? Technology is not a 21st century term. Technology is as old as civilisation. Every little change, even the use of primitive tools that were used for hunting in ancient times, can be connected with technology. Over the course of time, technology has undergone multiple changes, and such evolutions are clearly visible in all sectors of society. Do you know what the most precious thing on earth is? Is it the yacht History Supreme? Is it Antilla? Or is it ‘The Card Players’, a famous painting by French artist Paul Cezzane?

All these things may cost a lot, but not as much as time. Time is the most precious thing on earth, nothing can replace it, and it has to be valued. The assistance of modern technology has enabled us to save it. After the introduction of technologies, things that took hours and days for completion are now getting completed in seconds and minutes. Simultaneously, it is saving our money and bettering our lives, but never forget the words, “Too much of anything is good for nothing.”

Why is technology important?

There are multiple ways by which technology is favouring the lives of human beings. Technology became a great boon for us when it marked its advancement in the field of medical science. By continuous evolution and updation, technology has reached a level that enables us to treat and cure many health disorders, including cancer and other chronic disorders. It has helped to save the lives of many humans, and truly it can be called a ‘life saver’.

What are the top quotes to use in a speech on technology?

  • “Technology is best when it brings people together.” – Matt Mullenweg.
  • “It has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanity.” – Albert Einstein.
  • “It is only when they go wrong that machines remind you how powerful they are.” – Clive James.

How does technology affect our lives?

Even if the term advancement is linked with technology, there are multiple disadvantages. With the encroachment of technology, people have lost their social life. It’s the supremacy of Artificial Intelligence (AI) over natural intelligence that is happening in the world right now. Humans are no longer social beings; they are just living beings with digital control.

Persuasive Speech About Technology: How It Is Shaping Our Future

Persuasive Speech About Technology: How It Is Shaping Our Future

Everyday, we witness the rapid development and integration of technology into our lives. From planning our day to day activities to negative effects on our health and social skills, technology has become an inevitable part of our lives. It is likely that things will only continue to progress at an even faster pace, and the influence of technology on our thinking and work is undeniable.

In this article, we will explore the main effects of technology on our intelligence and the way we think. Having access to endless information and resources can make us smarter, but it can also limit our ability to think critically and deeply. Doug and Julie Newitz, authors of the book “The Smarter Screen,” highlight that our intelligence is being shaped by the screens we interact with on a daily basis. As a result, our ability to concentrate, analyze, and retain information may be affected.

Technology is not just affecting the way we think, but also the way we work. With the rise of automation and artificial intelligence, many jobs are at stake. As computers become smarter and more advanced, certain tasks can be done more efficiently by machines. According to a study conducted by the World Economic Forum, it is estimated that by 2022, 75 million current jobs will be displaced by technology. Therefore, it is important for students to adapt and acquire the necessary skills to stay relevant in the job market.

Despite the potential negative effects, there are also many positive aspects to consider. Technology has transformed the way we access information and learn. Students no longer have to rely solely on textbooks and traditional classes. With the help of technology, they can have access to a wide range of subjects and engage in more interactive and visual learning experiences. This can greatly enhance their engagement and understanding of various topics.

Furthermore, technology has also revolutionized the medical field, making it easier for doctors to diagnose and treat illnesses. In Doug and Julie Newitz’s book, they discuss how technology has helped develop new medical tools and techniques, ultimately improving the overall well-being of individuals. For example, advancements in telemedicine allow patients to receive medical care remotely, which is especially beneficial for those in rural or underprivileged areas.

Understanding the Impact of Technology on Our Lives

One area where technology has had a significant impact is in the field of healthcare. Medical technology has improved dramatically over the years, resulting in better diagnosis and treatment options. From advanced imaging techniques to robotic surgeries, technology is revolutionizing the practice of medicine. It has made it possible to detect and treat diseases at an early stage, improving the overall quality of life for patients.

Technology has also played a crucial role in the field of education. With e-books and online learning platforms, students no longer have to rely solely on traditional textbooks. They now have access to a wealth of information at their fingertips, making learning more interactive and engaging. Technology has also enabled students to collaborate and communicate with their peers and teachers in real-time, enhancing the learning experience.

Furthermore, technology has had a profound impact on our day-to-day lives. It has made tasks quicker and more efficient, allowing us to accomplish more in less time. Whether it’s ordering groceries online or streaming movies on demand, technology has made our lives more convenient and enjoyable. We can now connect and communicate with people from different parts of the world with just a few clicks.

Exploring the Advantages and Disadvantages of Technological Advancements

Advantages of technological advancements.

One of the key benefits of technology is its ability to improve medical care. Through advanced medical equipment and innovative treatments, technology has greatly enhanced the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. This has resulted in longer and healthier lives for many individuals.

Furthermore, technology has revolutionized the way we communicate and access information, making it easier and faster. The internet and social media platforms provide instant access to news, educational resources, and global connectivity. This accessibility has opened up new avenues for learning, collaboration, and cultural exchange.

In the field of education, technology has transformed traditional learning methods. Interactive tools, online courses, and educational software enable personalized learning experiences, catering to individual students’ needs. This promotes engagement, critical thinking, and creativity in the classroom.

Disadvantages of Technological Advancements

While technology offers numerous advantages, it also presents some negative consequences. Excessive reliance on technology can hinder human-to-human interaction, leading to a lack of social skills and deeper connections. This can particularly impact young people, who may struggle with face-to-face communication in the presence of constant digital distractions.

Moreover, the overuse of technology, especially among students, can have detrimental effects on their academic performance. Excessive screen time, reliance on instant information, and the temptation of social media can impair focus, productivity, and deep learning. It is important to strike a balance between technology usage and traditional study methods.

In addition, the rapid pace of technological development raises concerns about job displacement and economic inequality. As automation and artificial intelligence advance, certain professions may be at risk of becoming obsolete, leaving many individuals unemployed or struggling to keep up with the shifting job market. It is crucial to address these socioeconomic implications and find ways to ensure a fair and inclusive transition.

Giving 2-minute speech

Giving memorable 2-minute speeches are tricker than giving 2-minute speeches.

Speeches are an effective way to share your understanding, opinion, or perspective on a topic. It doesn’t matter if your speech is for 2 minutes, 10 minutes, or 50 minutes, the main essence of any speech is to reach the audience .

2-minute speeches are quite effective if presented in a well-structured manner. In fact, giving 2-minute speeches can also help you improve your public speaking skills. And that is the reason why schools ask the students to give 2-minute speeches for every assignment!

Now we understand you might have tons of questions when it comes to 2-minute speeches, but fret not, we’ve got you covered. Read till the end of the blog to get a more comprehensive idea about 2-minute speeches.

Also, check out our video here if you want a very short glimpse of the article:

Is a 2-minute speech too short?

2-minute speeches come under the category of short speeches. So ideally 2 minute speeches are short speeches . But when we say is it too short? Then the answer will be subjective.

For instance, If you are to present your research findings then a 2-minute speech would not do justice to years of your work. But at the same time if you are giving a self-introduction then 2 minute speeches are more than enough!

How long is a 2-minute speech?

To understand how long 2-minute speeches should be, you need to understand your pace of speaking which is the number of words spoken per minute.   An average person usually speaks about 130-150 words per minute . So for 2-minute speeches, 260-300 words should be sufficient.

When it comes to the number of pages for a 2-minute speech, then your speech can be half to one page long . It all depends on the font size that you use!

Similarly, the number of sentences that would make up a 2-minute speech can vary depending on the font size that you use or your handwriting.

Writing 2-minute speeches

1. choose a topic.

The very first step in writing your speech is to know what you want to talk about, which is your topic !

You can either come up with the topic yourself or you can search for a broad topic on the internet and then narrow it down as per your liking.

So if for example, you are writing a 2-minute speech on unity as strength , you may want to focus on a particular instance wherein unity shown by people worked as their strength and helped them achieve a goal, like a freedom struggle.

2. Decide on your takeaway

If you are wondering what takeaways are, then they are your answer to the question “why are you presenting this particular topic to the audience?”

For some the answer could be, to educate, give another perspective on a widely studied topic, or even awaken the audience to take action .

In 2 minute speeches, the clock ticks faster so you should ideally focus on only 1 takeaway .

Once you have figured out why you want to present the topic to your audience or listeners, you can then move to the next stage of research.

3. Research for your speech

When you begin researching for 2 minutes speeches, you don’t have to get into tons of details . The idea is to give the audience enough information to understand your topic within a short time.

For starters, you can browse your topic on Google , YouTube , Instagram , and other social media channels. You might also want to research some facts or statistics related to your topic as it increases the credibility of your speech.

4. Structure your speech

There are 3 things to be kept in mind while structuring your speech. They are ethos, pathos, and logos.

Ethos means credibility . It is concerned with giving the audience a reason to believe in you. So, if your speech is about the impact of gaming on violent behavior, mentioning that you are a psychologist would add credibility to your speech.

Pathos is related to emotions . The idea is to connect with the listeners through emotions. And the easiest way to do that is through stories !

In the example above, you can share a story of a client who developed violent behavior patterns after spending a considerable amount of time on gaming and how they are doing now.

Logos means logic . Adding logical elements like facts, statistics, and quotes by famous personalities helps drive your main idea forward in a more rational sense.

Again, taking the example of the impact of gaming on violent behavior, logos could include a sentence like:

School shootings have increased from 11 in 2009 to 93 in 2021. It is a staggering number and when you take a deeper look into it, you’ll find that a considerable number of these shooters were addicted to gaming.

Editing is something we believe is a very crucial part of giving a memorable 2-minute speech. Why?

Because 2-minute speeches aren’t only about what you say but also about what you choose not to say.

Editing also helps you focus on your topic more clearly rather than drifting or diversifying your topic.

Delivering 2-minute Speeches

1. establish your takeaway.

Since you had already decided on your takeaway while writing the speech, you are well aware of it. But does your audience have any idea yet? No!

While they might infer why you are presenting the particular topic after listening to your speech, you cannot leave it to that.

Establish your takeaway right at the beginning of your speech , so that the audience also understands what they can expect from your speech.

2. How to begin a 2 minute Speech (Simple beginning)

This might come as a shocker, especially because we are always told to begin with a Bang!

For 2-minute speeches, if you end up spending a lot of your time on the beginning, you will have to shorten the main content of your speech.

Starting in a simple and direct manner suits best in such cases.

A few ways in which you can begin your 2-minute speeches are given below:

If you are to introduce yourself, you can begin simply by saying your name. “Good afternoon everyone, I am Xyz…”

You can also use ethos, pathos, and logos to begin your 2-minute speeches.

“Mumbai is known for 2 things gateway of India and potholes. Being someone who has lost a close friend of mine due to the careless work done towards these potholes , I’m here to address the issue we so conveniently drive over”
“About a year ago, in this very month of July, it was raining heavily in Mumbai. I remember this because there happened to be a friend of mine who was supposed to meet me for a meeting, we had that day, but he didn’t make it. The reason? Heavily flooded roads covered with potholes that he couldn’t see. A tragic accident or a convenient murder?”
“In 2018, Mumbai alone witnessed 522 accidents caused by potholes”

3. Emphasize

Repeating or rather stressing certain words gives rhythm to your speech. It also helps in easy learning and increases the chance of easy recall among the audience.

4. How to End a 2 Minute Speech

When it comes to 2-minute speeches, your conclusion or closing lines are very important. The reason is that your audience will mostly remember the last part of your speech better than the rest .

Make sure to restate the takeaway and main crux of your speech . You can also end your speech by quoting some famous personalities . In many speeches, the speaker asks the audience to take action or to think about a question that they leave the audience with.

So, we now know how your phone helps you socialize but keeps you away from the same people physically. We have been living in this virtual world for quite some time now. The least you can do is to keep your technology aside especially when you are with people you care about. An hour without your phone won’t hurt, will it?

Impromptu 2-minute speeches

Impromptu speeches are ones where you are given the topic on the spot with little to no time to prepare for the speech. In such cases, you barely have any time to go about carrying out thorough research and structuring your speech.

Rather you can keep a few frameworks in your mind and then structure the speech accordingly on the spot. This is the most convenient way of delivering effective impromptu 2-minute speeches.

A few frameworks that you can use for your 2-minute impromptu speeches are:

1. PREP model

PREP stands for Point, Reason, Example, and Point . This essentially means that you begin by talking about something, then give a reason that justifies that point. You then follow it with an example to back your point and end by repeating the point to reach your audience in a structured manner.

2. WWW model

No, WWW doesn’t stand for World Wide Web. Rather it means answering 3 questions,

  • Who are you?
  • What do you do?
  • Where are you going from here?

WWW works best when you have to give an impromptu introduction of yourself .

An example of using the WWW model to introduce yourself is given below.

Hello everyone, I am Arsh M, a fashion designer, and advocate of sustainability. During my college years, I was astonished by the amount of cloth waste produced each day. Upon researching, I realized that the fashion industry happens to be one of the biggest polluters in the world. This motivated me to work towards bringing more sustainable styling choices for everyone. That is when I began my venture in Sustainaesthetic. We are a completely sustainable and animal cruelty-free brand that aims to provide you with diverse sustainable styling options at a very affordable rate so that saving the planet doesn’t hurt your pockets!

3. Pointer Format

As the name suggests, the pointer format involves dividing your content into 3-5 points . This will make it easier for you to talk about each point for a couple of seconds before moving to the next. At the same time, it sounds very structured and may be easy to recall.

An example of a pointer format is a speech given the by CEO of Pepsico Indra Nooyi .

Famous 2-minute speeches

1. indra nooyi.

The speech given by Pepsico’s CEO is well-written and spoken . She begins by appreciating India, her home country, and then moves on to briefly talk about her 3 life lessons. Diving her speech into such crisp segments with an introduction, 3 pointers and finally, a conclusion, makes the speech very comprehensive and structured .

2. Denzel Washington

The speech given by Denzel Washington is one of the most motivating speeches of all time . It is because of the way he calmly delivers the speech by taking required pauses to stress the important lines.

2-minute speeches from movies

Speeches in movies usually bring out the emotion of awe, inspiration, or sympathy . We will look at two such 2-minute inspirational speeches from movies.

1. Any Given Sunday

The scene on any given day is worth noting for its storytelling approach . Al Pacino begins his speech with brutal honesty when he says “ We are in hell gentlemen.”

He then goes on to talk about how the game is very similar to everyone’s life and emphasizes being at the right place at the right time.

“One second early or one second late, you miss a catch,” he says. In the latter half of his speech, he increases his voice as if trying to reach his player’s very core, in an attempt to motivate them to do their level best in the game.

2. Coach Carter

This speech scene of Coach Carter is unlike other traditional scenes where the coach inspires his students. Rather, one of the students gives a very short speech that moves not only his teammates but also his teacher.

It can also be counted as a very effective thank you speech!

Monologues happen to be yet another powerful tool used in 2-minute speeches from movies. Monologues are long dialogues given by a single character. Let’s take a look at some of the most striking monologues given in movies

2-minute dramatic monologue for male

When it comes to dramatic monologues for males, the dialogue is often very inspiring or tries to instill the right amount of motivation among the team players or the soldiers. Let us take a look at 2 such dramatic monologues given by male characters in movies that had an amazing impact on their audience.

1. V for Vendetta

V for vendetta isn’t only an amazing movie, but this monologue by V is out of the ordinary. In the scene, V introduces himself to a woman whom he had just saved.

He uses alliteration by introducing himself with words that start with V. Check out the exact dialogue to get a clearer idea about the monologue.

V oila! In v iew, a humble v audevillian v eteran is cast v icariously as both v ictim and v illain by the v icissitudes of fate. This v isage, no mere v eneer of v anity, is a v estige of v ox populi, now v acant, v anished. However, this v alorous v isitation of a bygone v exation stands v ivified and had v owed to v anquish these v enal and v irulent v ermin v anguarding v ice and v ouchsafing the v iolently v icarious and v iolation of v olition…. You may call me V.

2. Wolf of Wallstreet

Who hasn’t heard of this amazing movie, wolf of wall street? One thing that we will observe when it comes to this movie is that the main lead had amazing public speaking skills . He had the power to persuade his listeners and encourage them to chip in at their level best for the growth of the organization.

In one such speech, he talks about how he isn’t leaving them and that he is here to stay.

The use of dramatic suspense followed by his change in tone and voice is something worth noting.

2-minute dramatic monologue for female

When it comes to dramatic monologues given by female characters in movies, 2 of these scenes come into our minds. The scenes are both beautifully written and executed by the actors.

1. Devil Wears Prada

In the movie Devil Wears Prada, the monologue is given by Meryl Streep who plays the role of Miranda Priestly. The speech is worth noting as she dramatically explains how even a small difference between two pieces of clothing to a lay person is a big difference for the fashion moguls as it is their opportunity to create millions!

Her passion for the industry is quite evident from the 2-minute speech. Further, the way her character picks up the pace when she talks about the reality of the fashion industry brings out her annoyance at the assistant and acts as a way of showing authority through words.

The movie 300 features a small scene where the queen requests the councilmen to send more men to war, to help not only her husband but also all the others who are already a part of it.

We see the use of ethos in the speech when the queen says the following statement:

I come to you as a mother. I come to you as a wife. I come to you as a spartan woman.

Examples of 2-minute speeches

If you are looking for some examples for your next 2-minute speech or 2-minute speeches to memorize, check out the ones given below!

How to introduce yourself in 2 minutes?

When you have to introduce yourself in 2-minutes, it is better to follow a simple structure of past, and present.

An example of introducing yourself as a fresher for a job interview has been given below

Good afternoon, I am Arya Rose. I recently graduated from ABC college, majoring in Analytics. Growing up I had always found immense interest in math and had also won Olympiads at the school level. During my under graduation, I had taken up a course in tools for Data Analysis which made me realize my inclination toward analytics. It also encouraged me to pursue my major in the field of analytics.

Being an active member of my college, I made sure to participate in and represent my college across various events and intercollegiate festivals. I also had the chance to be a part of Hackin which is ABC’s elite Hackathon team. With the Team, we stood 2nd at Hackified, a hackathon organized by QPR college.

I was further able to put my theoretical knowledge to use by interning with this amazing organization called ANAlysis. The internship spanned over 3 months and I was able to gain an in-depth understanding of software like R and Python.

I now look forward to gaining more practical experience in the field by working and growing with your esteemed organization.

2 minute thank you speech

There are a few things that you must keep in your mind while you are giving a thank you speech.

  • Acknowledge the people around you
  • Thank them
  • Introduce yourself or why you are giving this speech.
  • Individually thank every person required.
  • Add some inspiring or heartfelt closing marks

An example of a 2-minute thank you speech for an event is given below.

I’d like to first thank every one of you present here, for joining us to make this event an absolute success. To those of you who might not know, I am Shiya M, the editor of the XYZ club and the coordinator of this amazing open mic event “Mehar.” Mehar means blessing in Punjabi, and there is a reason behind it.

On my very first day at XYZ, I was stunned to see the company ritual. Before leaving we were to recall one blessing that we received that day from our colleagues. As unusual as it felt, it was beyond measure one of the most beautiful rituals I had come across. You see in this fast-moving world, we tend to focus a lot on our busy schedule for the things we don’t have. And in all that chaos, we forget to take a look at the n number of blessings showered our way.

So, we wanted to provide a platform where you could do that, even if it was for a couple of hours.

I’d like to thank Ms. T, founder of XYZ, and her immense support and encouragement throughout, Arya and Daven for working closely with all the participants and audience members, ensuring that all your needs were met. I’d also like to thank Mr. Ajay for the technical support provided to him and how can we not thank Jay for being our lead guitarist, tuning in the vibe of this small room as per each participant’s requirement, Jay thank you!

Thank you to all the participants for presenting such beautifully written pieces, we enjoyed them all. A great round of applause for our participants!

Last, I’d like to thank our dear audience for being patient and for motivating all our speakers today you have been the most amazing audience we have ever seen!

Thank you again all of you, it was a great pleasure interacting with every one of you.

meher rakhi!

2-minute humorous speech by bridesmaid

“Hello everyone, first of all, I’d like to begin quite humbly by thanking everyone present for gathering here to celebrate the union of this beautiful couple Jess and Jim.

Now if you know jess, you know me. Because I pretty much tag along with her everywhere. Just like those lice in your hair, can’t leave her alone!

At 5, I had taken up responsibility. It was to protect this absolutely beautiful soul. But as we grew up, it turned out that she was the one who protected me. What the turn tables!

Jess, I’m grateful every day to have such an amazing sister like you in my life who motivates me to do better and talk to “decent” guys..pst they are just not my type!

You’ve been my mom at times, waiting at the door every time I’d get late which makes me wonder if mom outsourced her strictness to you? And if yes, why not me? I was the broke kid!

I’m going to miss those small things you know? How you told me it was chocolate powder when it was coffee, how I never won a game I played with you because you never played it fair, and oh how you never missed complimenting my outfit when I was wearing your clothes!

But seriously, I’m going to miss you tons. I hope you get your fairytale happily ever after! To Jess and Jim!

Final words

2-minute speeches are short, crisp speeches that help in conveying your ideas or opinions to the people effectively. As the time is short, focusing too much on the opening lines or in-depth research will steal your time. Instead, focus on a takeaway and chip in extra efforts to give a memorable conclusion.

At the end of the day, there are no strict rules that you must follow for 2-minute speeches, and hence you are open to writing it and delivering it the way that suits best for you.

Speech on Technology In Education

Technology is transforming how you learn at school. It’s like a new friend that makes studying interesting and fun. In the second paragraph, imagine how cool it is when your homework comes alive on your computer screen. That’s the magic of technology in education!

1-minute Speech on Technology In Education

Good day everyone, I’m here to talk about technology in education.

First off, we know technology has changed many aspects of our lives, and it’s doing the same for education. You see, students no longer rely only on books. Now, they use laptops, tablets, and even their phones to learn. This helps them to access knowledge from all around the world.

Secondly, technology makes learning more engaging and fun. Imagine learning about the solar system by watching a 3D video instead of reading from a book. You get to see the planets moving around the sun, right? That’s more exciting!

Also, with technology, learning is becoming more personalized. Apps and online platforms can adjust to your speed and style of learning. If you find math tricky, the app can provide extra practice in that area. It’s like having a personal tutor right in your pocket!

Let’s not forget teachers. Technology also helps them. They can use digital tools to prepare classes, track student progress, and even communicate with parents. So, it makes their job easier and more effective.

Lastly, technology teaches us important skills for the future. By using technology, students learn how to solve problems, think critically, and work in teams. These are valuable skills in the digital age.

In conclusion, technology is shaping the future of education. It makes learning more engaging, personalized, and effective. It also prepares students for the world ahead. So, let’s embrace technology in education and make the most of it. Let’s prepare for a future where learning is fun, effective, and in tune with the digital age. Thank you.

2-minute Speech on Technology In Education

Good day, everyone!

Today, we are going to talk about the role of technology in education. Technology, in simple terms, is everything that helps us do things faster and better. It’s like a magic tool that’s quickly changing the way we learn and teach.

First, let’s look at how technology makes learning more exciting and interactive. Think about the computer or tablet you use at school or home. Now, imagine learning about the solar system by exploring it in a 3D model on your device. It’s like taking a trip to outer space without leaving your room! Cool, right? That’s what technology does. It makes learning fun and brings our textbooks to life.

Next, technology also helps us learn at our own pace. Have you ever felt stuck on a math problem while doing your homework? With technology, you can now use learning apps to practice and understand these problems better. You can learn whenever you want, wherever you want, and at your own speed. That’s the beauty of tech in education.

Then, there’s the fantastic world of online learning. Many of you might have experienced it, especially during the recent times. Lessons and classes are now available on the internet. Students from all around the world can learn from the best teachers without even stepping out of their homes. It’s like having a global classroom at your fingertips.

Let’s not forget how technology helps teachers. With tech tools, teachers can design interesting lessons and track our progress better. They can quickly identify where we need help and provide us with more support. It’s like having a personal assistant that helps teachers guide us better.

Finally, technology helps us stay connected. We can collaborate on projects with classmates, even when we can’t meet them. We can share ideas, give feedback, and learn from each other. This way, technology makes learning a team sport.

But, remember, while technology is fantastic, it’s just a tool. The real magic happens when we, the students, use it to explore, learn, and grow. So, let’s embrace technology in education and make the most of it.

In conclusion, technology in education is like a friend who makes learning fun, easy, and accessible. It’s a tool that opens up new worlds and helps us become better learners. So, next time you pick up your tablet or log into your online class, remember, you’re not just using a device – you’re stepping into a world of endless possibilities.

Essay 293 – Life was better when we had less modern technology

Gt writing task 2 / essay sample # 293.

You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.

Write about the following topic:

Some people feel that life was better in the past when we had less modern technology because things were simpler and less complicated.

To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Write at least 250 words.

Model Answer:

Advanced technology is ubiquitous these days. However, it is argued by many that life was more content with simple technologies in the past. I believe that while modern invention provides us with every amenity we require to live a comfortable life, in reality, it also makes our lives more complicated in terms of making life stressful.

On the one hand, modern technology has made our life unprecedentedly convenient. The most evident convenience is prompt communication. Put simply, only a few decades ago, the mode of transferring a message or information was long, and people had to wait for days, if not months to receive it. Whereas nowadays, people need to simply tap the email icon on their cell phone and send a message in the blink of an eye with the help of smartphones and the Internet. In fact, cutting-edge devices and applications make it possible to stay connected around the clock, seven days a week. The same goes for household chores. Homemakers receive the full blessing of home appliances. So, no doubt, modern people enjoy the blessing of technology almost in all spheres of life. But it comes with a price.

With the advent of advanced and digital technology, life has also become complicated. It makes individuals rush. People are expected to use productivity apps so that they can carry out more tasks in less time. It seems like individuals are being pushed to become more productive and faster by the way and they often fail to understand their limits, and causes stress as a result. Besides, technology is constantly evolving. Consequently, people need to adapt their approach and skills to the ever-developing technologies, thus leading to additional stress. To cap it all, connection brings about addiction. Plenty of studies in this field support this notion as engagement with our cell phones and social media releases a chemical called dopamine. It is the same chemical that makes people feel good when they smoke, drink or gamble. In other words, it is highly addictive.

In conclusion, life was much simpler when technology was less advanced. However, although present-day technology makes life stressed, the remedy is simple – use it less.

2 Minute Speech On The Modern Education System In English

Good morning to everyone in this room. I would like to thank the principal, the teachers, and my dear friends for allowing me to speak to you today about the modern education system. The most recent and modern form of education being taught in schools and other learning facilities in the twenty-first century is known as modern education.

Critical thinking, life skills, value education, analytical abilities, and decision-making abilities are all goals of contemporary education. The newest technology is also used in modern education, including mobile apps, and audio and video platforms like YouTube, podcasts, e-books, movies, etc.

Modernizing the academic curriculum is necessary to better inform pupils about the rapidly advancing technological advances as well as to keep pace with the times. Students who are adaptable to shifting circumstances become adept at using both traditional skills and technological knowledge with equal ease.

The current educational system unfairly limits the capabilities of the average person, rendering them incapable of managing the complexities of both private and public life. To prepare students for the diverse difficulties that face humanity in today’s competitive world, the educational system must be made flexible enough to accommodate these changes.

Classes and lectures in the modern educational system are timed and monitored, which encourages students to arrive on time and behave consistently. In addition to helping pupils learn more, modern education also encourages interaction and socialization. This is one of the things that encourages pupils to like going to school. Thank you.
