Students mature as young adults through their middle school journey with multiple life-related questions. A high school teacher helps guides and impart values to the student’s new life phase questions. The highest satisfaction or achievement of every teacher is to watch students grow to achieve success through respect.

During the formative stages of every student’s life, teachers hold a significant impact. Younger students hold immense faith in teachers and listen accordingly. This shows the significance of the teacher’s impact on students. As one grows, and drift away to college, then teachers become friends and mentors who inspire to great life achievements. My Child My Teacher Essay 200 Words

I am the family’s eldest child, having been born ten years after my parents married. I am the apple of their eyes, and a single tear from mine will bring ten tears from my mother’s eye. My parents celebrated my first steps with a baby walker. I was attracted by noises of all kinds . I would rush after the balloon salesman whenever he came past our lane. All my wishes used to get fulfilled at once. However, that made me a little arrogant and it was that time, my teacher explained things gently.

Teachers are a unique gift from God to us. They are the ones who construct a good nation and improve the planet. A teacher shows us the value of a pen over a sword . They are highly valued in society since they improve people’s living conditions. They are the societal building blocks that educate people and help them become better persons, and the same happened in my case as well.

My Child My Teacher Essay 300 Words

I am the eldest child in my family and was born ten years after my parents married. I am the apple of their eyes, and a single tear from my eye would bring ten from my mother’s . My parents celebrated my first steps with a baby walker. Noises of all kinds attracted me. I would chase after the balloon salesman whenever he came past our lane . My parents and relatives gave me numerous electronic devices.

I started school when I was five years old. My parents had brought sweets to distribute among the kids. I screamed and wept, but nothing worked. My tears could not bring them back. I started being too arrogant. I would hardly compromise for anything. My teacher spoke to me gently and made me realize things.

My Child My Teacher Essay

Teachers are a great gift from God to us. They are the ones that establish a wonderful nation and make the globe a better place. A teacher emphasizes the value of a pen over a sword. They are highly regarded in society since they improve people’s living conditions. They serve as the foundation of society, educating people and molding them into better citizens.

Teachers have a significant impact on society and the lives of their students. They are also very important in a parent’s life since parents have high expectations of instructors for their children . However, as with any job, there are good and bad teachers. While there aren’t many poor teachers, the amount is substantial. A good teacher possesses characteristics that a terrible instructor does not. We may attempt to enhance the teaching situation once we’ve identified the characteristics of an excellent instructor.

My Child My Teacher Essay 500 Words

My parents married, but they had no children. I arrived as a blessing to them after ten years of marriage. Because I am their only child, they regard me as their prized possession . Whatever I demand, I receive right away. I’ve always been lavished with attention and affection. Whenever the balloon salesman came past our lane, I would run after him.

My parents and relatives lavished me with electronic gadgets. I began school at the age of five. My parents had brought treats for the other classmates to share. Nothing worked despite my screams and tears. My tears couldn’t make them return. I became overly egotistical.

I would almost never make a compromise for anything. My teacher spoke to me calmly and helped me grasp what was going on. She made me realize that I was moving into the wrong course and was being disrespectful to my classmates.

It is true that our parents are our first teachers. They teach us a lot, but the fact remains that our true education begins in school and is delivered by our teachers. This is why teachers are highly valued in our society. They play a vital role in a person’s life.

Humans are social creatures. As a result, society has a significant impact on our personality and career. Our civilization, like any other, is made up of relationships. We are born into our culture and are introduced to a variety of relationships. For instance, father, mother, brother , sister, friends, and so on.

The majority of the relationships stated above serve a specific purpose. But, according to me, there is one relationship that is a synthesis of all relations, and I believe that relationship is a student-teacher relationship. Because of my personal experience, I can say this with total conviction. My nursery teacher (and other teachers as well) were a complete world to me. I’m sure many of you will agree with me on this. A teacher is a guide, mentor, friend, and a variety of other roles.

They provide us with education:

The basic goal of the teacher is to impart knowledge. He/she makes every effort to instruct and educate students. He must respond to the needs of the kids and sometimes must educate and perform with few or no resources (in government primary schools). Many times , a teacher must work long hours to meet his or her financial demands because teacher salaries are typically low. A teacher must write notes, conduct research, and so on in order to maintain the quality of education. Overall, he works really hard.

A teacher is a good friend:

I am a firm believer that no matter how talented a person is, he or she cannot perform if he or she is emotionally ill. If you consider your instructor to be a friend, trust me when I say that your teacher will undoubtedly lead you through your emotional turmoil.

A teacher promotes character development:

A teacher is required to educate children on moral values in addition to academic information. It is sometimes presented in a formal manner, and sometimes in a casual manner. Small things (manners) that we are taught in school, such as “do not tell lies,” “always say thank you and please,” “ask for permission before entering a room or sitting on a chair,” and so on. I thought they were minor details, but believe me when I say that minor details can make or break a scenario (especially interviews).

Did you know that essay writing is a crucial element in most competitive examinations across the globe? This is exactly why the concept of creative writing needs to be taught to a child from the very beginning. Over here, we will discuss how to write a paragraph on their teacher.

You can help your children express their feelings by writing a few lines on their teacher. For early and young learners, such as classes 1, 2 and 3, creative writing is an opportunity to express what they learn and experience. When a child begins to write what they feel, this enables a range of life-long skills. So, do ask your children to write a paragraph about their teacher.

A teacher plays many important and significant roles in our lives such as a guardian, guru, learning instructor, mentor, and guide. A teacher shows us the path to success in different stages of our lives. Young kids have delicate minds, and when they are provided with an opportunity to write on a specific topic, they try to express their views from their hearts. It is a beautiful experience to watch a child express their innocent views in simple and short sentences. With the following tips in mind, you can teach them to write an excellent essay on their teacher:

  • An essay primarily comprises an introduction, body, and conclusion.
  • You can start by introducing your school – the name and location of your school. You can then mention which class you are studying and your favourite teachers.
  • In the body of the essay you can describe your favourite teacher and what are the qualities in them that make them special to you.
  • You can also speak about how your teacher helps, guides, and corrects you.
  • Art the conclusion stage of the essay, you can write about how you would always be thankful to this teacher of yours, and what is that one important life skill you have learnt from them.

Teachers are, undoubtedly, some of the most essential people in a child’s life, and are also the most important people, next to parents, for students. Children begin learning in their elementary schools with the help of teachers. Then a student’s next phase after elementary school is middle school, where teachers guide students through the crucial adolescent changes. Students then mature as young adults during their middle school journey with various life-related questions. High school teachers then guide, support, and impart values to the student’s new life phase questions. The highest level of satisfaction in every teacher is to watch their students grow and achieve success in their respective lives. When asked to write an essay on the topic ‘my teacher’, for classes 1 and 2, you can use the following ten lines. You can even tweak it to use for writing a few lines on the same topic for class 3 –

  • To honour every teacher’s contribution to a student’s life, Teacher’s Day is celebrated annually on September 5th.
  • A teacher helps students learn important values for life.
  • Teachers play a big role in moulding and shaping a student’s life.
  • A student’s accomplishments provide teachers with enormous satisfaction and pride in good education.
  • My teacher never forgets to give us a warm hug before we enter and walk out of our classes every day.
  • She teaches us Science and tells us a lot of interesting facts and stories.
  • Teachers play the role of second parents in imparting life values and helping in our overall development.
  • My teacher is very disciplined and punctual and always comes to class on time.
  • My teacher makes the most effort to make learning fun for us and is always ready to help us whenever we are stuck.
  • In this way, my class teacher is an important figure in my life, like a guide, who inspires us to do well in our studies regularly.

As parents, we may have observed that children tend to listen to their teachers more than their parents. This clearly demonstrates the importance of the teacher’s impact on students. Teachers impart crucial and valuable life lessons to their students. This can be used an example of a short essay on this topic for class 3, or a short paragraph about the favourite teacher:

I study in Delhi Public School and there are a total of thirty teachers in my school. All the teachers in the school are good, but my favourite is Mr. Rishabh Singh. He is polite, well educated, friendly, and an excellent teacher. He considers all the students as his own children and guides us as a friend and mentor. We enjoy his class a lot as he makes us happy too. Thus, I am forever grateful and incredibly proud to have such a great teacher.

Note: This example can even be referred to by students of class 2.

A teacher is a life-changing role model who influences a child’s growth development and inculcates essential everyday values. Schools often require students to write a paragraph on their favourite teacher for class 3, as teachers are the developmental blocks of society. The following can be used as an example of a long essay on my class teacher:

My favourite teacher is someone who imparts essential and valuable lessons, and guides students to always take the right path in life. The best teachers aim to achieve a balance of both positivity and negativity in each student’s life. However, just as a coin, there are two types of teachers- teachers that are understanding, and teachers that are strict. An understanding teacher enhances teaching scenarios. Some teachers always remain in a person’s memory due to the role they have played in a student’s life. One such teacher who will always remain in my memory is Mrs. Smita Bansal, our 2nd standard Art and Crafts teacher. Though she taught Art, Mrs. Smita always helped us out with any problem we faced in school. She was a teacher whom every student went to for any kind of advice. She had the great ability to motivate all students. She was always kind, helpful, and generous. She always treated students like friends, and always had time for them, and understood them. She also told us to never think negatively and always think positively. I am so grateful to have her in my life.

Note: The above example can also be used for a long teacher paragraph for class 3.

The composition about /my class teacher’ will help your child learn to make points before beginning their description. Writing essays will also inculcate emotional and intelligent skills in children. Finally, the essay makes them appreciate their teachers.

In this way, these tips can help children to write a cohesive and beautiful paragraph or essay on their teachers, regardless of whether they are in class 1, 2 or 3. So, you too can use these tips and help your child improve in creative writing, starting with one essay at a time.

Even while at home, the lessons of my teacher resonate in my mind. I listen to my teacher’s lecture and sincerely remember almost every word that s/he speaks in class. I never disobeyed my teacher or did something that could offend them. My Teacher is a blessing of God and is the most significant one for that matter.

Long and Short Essay on My Teacher in English

Below we have provided short and long essays on My Teacher in English.

The My Teacher Essay is written in simple language elaborating all the qualities that I see in my teacher and how they have changed my personality.

After going through these My Teacher Essays, you will also know the work done by a teacher, which makes them a God’s blessing.

You can use the following essays in essay writing competitions, debates or general discussions in your class.

Short Essay on My Teacher – Essay 1 (200 Words)

We, humans, are social beings. Therefore society plays a vital role in shaping our personality and career. Our society, or any society for that matter, comprises relations. As we are born, we become part of our society and are introduced to many relations—for example, father, mother, brother, sister, friends etc.

A maximum of the relations mentioned above have a clear-cut function. But there is one relation, which is a combination of all relations, and I think that relationship is a student-teacher relation. I can say this with absolute certainty because of my personal experience. My nursery teacher (especially other teachers) was a complete world to me. I am sure many of you will agree with this. A teacher is a guide, mentor, friend and many other things.

Sant Kabir das has truly said this line for teachers:-

“Guru Govind doukhade, kakelagupaye, Balhari guru apne, Govind diyo batay”

In the above lines, a student says that if God and my teacher are standing in front of me, I have to decide whose feet I should touch first. In that case, I will touch the feet of my teacher first because it is the teacher who has taught me the way to reach god.

This was the place given to teachers in those days, but now both (I mean students and teachers) have changed. Earlier it was more of a passion than a profession, but now it has just become a means of livelihood. But I think all is not lost. Whenever I see students celebrating teacher’s day and teachers getting emotional over it, I feel really happy. Teachers have and will continue to hold a special place in our hearts.

Essay on Teachers are the Builders of Our Future – Essay 2 (300 Words)

No one can deny that teachers play an important role in shaping our future. Right from the first day of school to the last day of college, they teach, find and correct faults, and besides giving education, they also shape our personality. In short, they make our future.

Teachers are the Builders of Our Future

There are many relations which have a special place in our hearts. I am sure one of them is a “teacher” for most of us. Some of us even hate our teachers, especially those who were strict with us, used to give us punishments, or scolded us for misdeeds.

As we grow old, in most cases, this hate turns into love because we realize the importance of being scolded in professional life. Kabir das has put the functionality of the teacher beautifully in the following lines….

“Guru khumbhar shishya kumbha hai, Gadhi gadhi kadhe khot, Anter hath sahar de, Bahar mare chot”

In the above lines, Sant Kabir das says that a teacher is like a potter and a student is like the water pot being made by him. In making the pot, he beats the clay from the outside but simultaneously keeps a hand from the inside for support.

I love my teachers (especially those who scolded me more). They are the ones responsible for making my future.

When I was young, I wanted to become an English writer. When I told my friends and parents this, they used to laugh because I was very bad at English. My teacher used to scold and punish me daily, but I never lost my patience. His guidance and hard work paid off, and I can become an English teacher and a writer. I used to curse him earlier for being so strict with me, but now I am thankful to him because his strictness paid off.

Essay on the Role of Teachers in Our Life – Essay 3 (400 Words)

It is true that parents are our first teachers. They teach us a lot, but this fact cannot be denied that our real education starts in school and is provided by our school teachers. This is why teachers are given a lot of respect in our society. They play an important role in a person’s life.

Role of Teachers in Our Life

A teacher is a guide, mentor, friend and many other things. It depends upon the student on how he defines his teacher. Sant Tulsi das has put this beautifully in the following lines…

“Jaki rahi bhavana jaisi, Prabhu murat dekhi tin taisi”

In the above lines, Sant Tulsi das says that God/Teacher will appear to the person in the same way as the person thinks. For example, Arjun felt that lord Krishna was his friend, while Mira Bai felt that lord Krishna was her lover. This is true for teachers also.

My Nursery Teacher- My Every Thing

There was something magical about her. I trusted her blindly. I can’t give a name to the relationship I shared with her, but I can surely say it was an amalgam of many relationships.

My Primary Teacher- My Mentor

It is said that if the foundation of a building is strong, then one can add any number of floors to it, but if the foundation is weak, doing that is risky. I was lucky to have very good primary teachers who laid the foundation of everything, like education, character etc., in me. Because of that strong foundation, I could become what I wanted to be.

My Middle School Teacher- My Boss

Whatever discipline I have, it’s because of my middle school teachers. They scolded, shouted and pushed me to the limit. I hated them the most in school, but now I realize why they did that.

My Secondary and Higher Secondary School Teachers- My Friend

Someone has truly said that when a son’s/daughter’s shoe size becomes equal to the size of the parent’s/teacher’s, they become friends. I used to share all my things with my teachers, and in return, I got guidance, and because of that, I got saved from teenage-related problems.

Essay on the Importance of Teachers in Our Life – Essay 4 (500 Words)

It isn’t easy to write about the importance of teachers in one’s life because they are the whole world for a maximum of us. Lucky are those who had good teachers.

Importance of Teachers in Our Life

A newborn child has an empty mind, or we can say his mind is blank. Whatever a teacher teaches him becomes their personality.

They educate us.

The primary aim of the teacher is to impart education. They try their best to teach and impart education to students. He has to adjust according to the needs of the students and sometimes has to prepare and perform with less or practically no resources (in government primary schools).

Often, teachers have to work long hours to meet their financial needs as the salary paid to teachers is normally not good. To maintain quality of education, a teacher has to prepare notes, do research etc. All in all, he works very hard.

A Teacher is a Character Builder

Besides giving bookish knowledge, a teacher is expected to impart moral education to kids. Sometimes, it is given formally, and sometimes, it is given casually.

When I was a kid, I once picked up an eraser from my friend without asking him and forgot to return it. My friend went to my teacher and told her that I had stolen his eraser. I cried and said that I just forgot to ask him. My teacher said, “I believe you, but you should have asked for it.” Trust me, till now I remember that lesson, and never forget it.

We are taught small things in schools (manners) like, ‘do not tell lies’, ‘always say thankyou and please’, ‘ask for permission before entering a room or sitting on a chair’ etc. I thought they were small things but trusted me; these small things can make or break a situation (especially interviews).

A Teacher is a Guide, a Mentor

When I was in class 10 th , I was unsure which stream (science or commerce) I should pursue. The more I took opinions from others, the more I got confused. At last, I consulted my teacher, and he said,” listen to your heart, and you will get the answer”, and yes, I got the answer.

A Teacher is a Friend

I firmly believe that no matter how talented a person is, they can’t perform if they are emotionally not well. If one can consider their teacher a friend, trust me, your teacher will guide you through emotional turbulence.

Teacher- our Well Wisher

Some people will never betray you. One among them is your teacher. No matter what you think of him, they will always be your well-wisher.

I want to share one incident. When I was in school, there used to be one maths teacher who was very strict with us. He used to scold us, beat us, and give us punishment. In other words, he made our life hell. All students used to hate him. One day we lost our patience and decided to take revenge. We burnt his motorcycle. An FIR was registered. When one of my classmates was threatened, he took some names. When the police came to arrest those boys, our maths teacher withdrew his complaint.

No one of us expected this. We went to him and said sorry. We also asked him why he withdrew the police complaint. He said,” As students, you are bound to make errors, and as a teacher, I must correct them. But I can’t give you that punishment which will ruin your career and brand you as a criminal. This is why I withdrew my police complaint.” We all cried and said sorry again. This is what a real teacher is like.

Long Essay on Teacher and Student Relationship – Essay 5 (600 Words)

Man is a social animal. We are so many things at the same time. For example, we are a son, father, mother, brother, husband, friend, boss, employee, etc., all simultaneously. We fulfil so many obligations at the same time. Almost the scope of every relationship is well defined. But some relations are complex, or in other words, they are an amalgam of many relations. One is the relationship between a student and their school teacher. It isn’t easy to define it because a teacher plays many roles in a student’s life.

Magical Relationship (between a Nursery Student and his/her Teacher)

Most of you will agree that the relationship between nursery students and their teachers cannot be defined. I have just one word for it – magical. If she asked me to do something, there was no way I could say no. Once I asked her innocently,” Madam, do you like me?” To this, she replied,” yes, of course”. That day I became so happy.

One day, due to some reason, I got angry and was not eating food at home. My Mom and Dad tried every trick they knew but were unsuccessful. At last, my dad called my school teacher, and I was asked to talk to her on the phone. She just said, “Dheerendra…..”. I instantly replied,” Yes, Madam, I am not angry at all and will have my food right now and do my homework….”. That was her magic of her.

As a teacher, I try to create the same bond with my little students. Whether I became successful or not can be a matter of debate, but I am trying and will continue to become a good teacher.

Relationship between an Army Cadet and his Instructor

When I was in class 6 th , I joined NCC. I remember he was such a tough guy. We used to call him Gabbar. Whatever discipline and toughness I have, all credit for it goes to him. He taught us survival skills, among other things. The relationship that existed between us was mainly based on fear. It is almost like the terror of Gabbar Singh from the movie Sholey.

When he used to shout, “Boys, are you hungry”? We used to shout back, “no sir”. Then again, he shouted, “Are you tired”? “No sir”, was the reply. Even now, when I feel tired, I recall that shout, and I feel fully charged the next moment.

Relationship between Teenage Students and their Teachers

Teenage is normally considered the best time of life. Normally at this age, the student-teacher relationship is based on understanding, love and attraction. To handle teenage kids, a teacher has to be very mature; otherwise, things may go south.

It is also an age of rebellion. Therefore good teachers use strictness in a calculated amount because excess of it can become counterproductive.

When I was in class 8 th , my English was horrible. This is why I was not able to write answers correctly. One day my English teacher called me. She had my English literature copy in her hand. But thank God nothing like that happened. She politely asked about my problem, but I could not explain it because of fear. When I realised she wouldn’t scold me, I told her my problem. She then worked very hard on me, and only because of her hard work and my willpower improved my English. The point is, if she had scolded me or punished me, I am pretty sure things would not have worked out.

I try to do the same with my students. Sometimes, the situation becomes tricky. For example, once a girl student of mine asked me in class, “sir, mai AAP ko kaisi lagti hu”. I laughed and said, “You are a good kid”.

My Teacher Essay

My Teacher is the person who looks after my academic, psychological and moral development. My parents are employed and have other jobs to do, but my teacher has only one objective and that is – my welfare. My Teacher teaches me subjects; clear my doubts; watches my conduct and corrects me when needed; inspires me; motivates me whenever I am feeling low and encourages me to explore my limits.

I don’t know whom do you consider as a God’s gift, it could be your mother, father or grandparents; but, for me My Teacher is a gift of God, especially delivered to make my life. Even while at home, the lessons of my teacher resonate in my mind. I listen to the lecture of my teacher sincerely remember almost every word that s/he speaks in the class. I also, never ever disobey my teacher or do something which could offend him/her. My Teacher is a blessing of the God, and is the most significant one by that matter.

Short Essay on My Teacher – Essay 1 (200 Words)

We humans are social beings. Therefore society plays an important role in shaping our personality and career. Our society or any society for that matter is made up of relations. As we are born, we become part of our society and are introduced to many relations. For example, father, mother, brother, sister, friends etc.

Maximum of the relations mentioned above have a clear cut function. But there is one relation, according to me which is a combination of all relations and I think that relation is a student teacher relation. I can say this with absolute certainty because of my personal experience. For me my nursery teacher (especially and other teachers also) was a complete world for me. I am sure many of you will agree to this. A teacher is a guide, mentor, friend and many other things which one can think off.

Sant Kabir das has truly said this line for teachers:-

“Guru Govind doukhade, kakelagupaye, Balhari guru apne, Govind diyo batay”

In the above lines a student says that if both God and my teacher are standing in front of me and I have to decide that whose feet I should touch first. In that case I will touch the feet of my teacher first, because it is the teacher who has taught me the way to reach god.

This was the place given to teacher in those days but now both (I mean students as well as teachers) have changed. Earlier it was more of a passion than profession but now it has just become a means of livelihood. But, I think, all is not lost. Whenever I see students celebrating teacher’s day and teachers getting emotional over it, I feel really happy. Teachers have and will continue to hold a special place in our heart.

Essay on Teachers are the Builders of Our Future – Essay 2 (300 Words)

Introduction

No one can deny the fact that teachers play an important role in shaping our future. Right from the first day of school to the last day of college, they teach, find and correct faults and besides giving education, they also shape our personality. In short they make our future.

Teachers are the Builders of Our Future

There are many relations which have a special place in our heart. I am sure one of that is a “teacher”, for most of us. Some of us even hate our teachers, especially those who were strict with us or used to give us punishments or scolded us for misdeeds.

As we grow old, in most of the cases, this hate turns into love because in professional life we realize the importance of being scolded. Kabir das has put the functionality of the teacher, beautifully in the following lines….

“Guru khumbhar shishya kumbha hai, Gadhi gadhi kadhe khot, Anter hath sahar de, Bahar mare chot”

In the above lines Sant Kabir das says that a teacher is like a potter and a student is like the water pot being made by him. In the process of making the pot, he beats the clay from outside but at the same time keeps a hand from inside for support.

This is why I love my teachers (especially those who scolded me more). They are the ones responsible for making my future.

When I was young, I wanted to become an English writer. When I used to tell this to my friends and parents, they used to laugh because I was very bad at English. My teacher used to daily used to scold and punish me but I never lost my patience. His guidance and mine hard work paid off and I am able to become an English teacher and a writer. I used to curse him earlier for being so strict with me but now I am thankful to him because his strictness paid off.

So, do love your strict teachers because they will make you what you want to become. In other words they are the architects of your future.

My child is my greatest teacher. From the moment they were born, they have taught me patience, unconditional love, and the true meaning of selflessness. As I watch them grow and learn, I am constantly amazed by their curiosity, creativity, and resilience.

My child has taught me to see the world through their eyes, to appreciate the simple joys in life, and to embrace every moment with gratitude. They have shown me the importance of being present, of listening without judgment, and of always being there to support and encourage them.

Through their innocence and purity, my child has reminded me of the beauty and wonder of the world around us. They have taught me to slow down, to savor the little moments, and to find joy in the everyday.

In the end, my child is not just my teacher, but also my greatest blessing. I am forever grateful for the lessons they have taught me and the love they have brought into my life.

Short Essay on My Child My Teacher1 in 200-500 Words

As a parent, one of the most rewarding experiences is watching your child grow and develop into their own unique individual. From their first steps to their first words, every milestone is a cause for celebration. But what many parents may not realize is that our children are also our greatest teachers.

My child has taught me more about life, love, and resilience than I ever thought possible. From the moment they were born, they have been my greatest source of inspiration and motivation. Their innocence and curiosity have reminded me to see the world through fresh eyes and appreciate the beauty in the simplest of things.

One of the most important lessons my child has taught me is the power of unconditional love. No matter how tired or frustrated I may feel, their smile and laughter have the ability to melt away any negativity. Their love is pure and unwavering, and it has taught me to be more patient, understanding, and compassionate.

My child has also taught me the importance of resilience and perseverance. From learning to walk to mastering new skills, they have shown me that anything is possible with determination and hard work. Their resilience in the face of challenges has inspired me to push through my own obstacles and never give up.

But perhaps the most valuable lesson my child has taught me is the importance of living in the present moment. Children are experts at living in the here and now, fully immersed in whatever they are doing without worrying about the past or future. Their ability to find joy in the simplest of moments has taught me to slow down, savor the present, and appreciate the little things in life.

In addition to these life lessons, my child has also taught me practical skills that I never thought I would need to learn. From changing diapers to soothing a crying baby, I have become a master at multitasking and problem-solving. I have learned to be more organized, patient, and adaptable in order to meet their needs and provide them with a safe and nurturing environment.

Overall, my child has been my greatest teacher in life. They have taught me valuable lessons about love, resilience, and living in the present moment. They have inspired me to be a better person and parent, and for that, I am forever grateful. I look forward to continuing to learn and grow alongside my child as we navigate the ups and downs of life together.

Essay on My Child My Teacher1 in 1000-1500 Words

As a parent, one of the most rewarding aspects of raising a child is witnessing their growth and development. From their first steps to their first words, every milestone is a cause for celebration. But what many parents may not realize is that children are not just learners, they are also teachers. My child has been my greatest teacher, showing me important lessons about life, love, and the power of resilience.

From the moment my child was born, I knew that my life would never be the same. The love that I felt for this tiny, helpless being was overwhelming, and I knew that I would do anything to protect and nurture them. But as the days turned into weeks and the weeks turned into months, I began to realize that my child was teaching me just as much as I was teaching them.

One of the first lessons that my child taught me was patience. As a new parent, I was constantly worried about whether I was doing things right, whether I was meeting all of my child’s needs. But my child showed me that sometimes, all they needed was for me to be there, to hold them close and comfort them when they were upset. Through their cries and their smiles, my child taught me to slow down, to take a deep breath, and to trust that everything would be okay.

My child also taught me the importance of resilience. From the moment they learned to crawl, my child was constantly exploring their surroundings, pushing the boundaries of what they thought was possible. And when they fell down, as they inevitably did, they would pick themselves back up and try again. Watching my child navigate the ups and downs of growing up, I learned that resilience is not just about bouncing back from failure, but about having the courage to keep going, even when things get tough.

But perhaps the most important lesson that my child has taught me is about love. As a parent, I thought that I knew what love was – the unconditional, unwavering love that I felt for my child. But my child showed me that love is not just a feeling, it is an action. It is in the small moments of everyday life – the bedtime stories, the cuddles on the couch, the laughter and the tears – that love is truly expressed. My child taught me that love is not just about saying the words, but about showing up, day in and day out, and being there for the ones you care about.

As my child grows older, I know that there will be many more lessons to learn, many more challenges to face. But I also know that my child will continue to be my greatest teacher, guiding me through the ups and downs of parenthood with their wisdom and their love. And for that, I am eternally grateful.

In conclusion, my child has been my greatest teacher, showing me important lessons about patience, resilience, and love. Through their actions and their words, my child has guided me through the ups and downs of parenthood, teaching me valuable lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. I am grateful for the opportunity to learn from my child, and I look forward to the many more lessons that they have in store for me in the years to come.

How to describe your child to a teacher (including templates) [2023 update].

my child my teacher essay 1500 words for parents

Can you believe the summer is ending...again? With each new school year, you are given the opportunity to expand and perfect your communication style with your child’s teacher. Our learning and development specialist Emily Andrews outlined some effective communication strategies for parents that you can take into consideration to get your relationship off on the right foot.

But, we know that the beginning of the school year can be an incredibly hectic time for parents, teachers, and children. Establish a strong relationship between you and your child’s teacher is important. To help set your child up for success in school, we’ve outlined tips and templates to help you describe your child in letters, paragraphs, and in person.

How to describe your child to a teacher

Sample letter describing your child, describe your child in a paragraph.

Some schools send out forms with questions for parents to answer about their children. Others ask parents to write a letter describing their child. Still others don’t formally ask questions and assume the parent will let them know on their own either in an email, call, or in the parent-teacher conference.

Whatever the case is with your child’s school, understanding how to describe your child to a teacher in a clear and concise way can help establish good communication between you and your child’s teacher as well as help the teacher be the best possible advocate for your child.

Here are some tips to keep in mind when you prepare to describe your child to a teacher.

  • Start with a blank slate. Assume your child’s teacher knows nothing about them. Introduce yourself, your child, and your family structure. Let the teacher know if they have a nickname and what pronouns they use.
  • Talk about their strengths and their weaknesses. Try to remove yourself from the situation and speak neutrally about your child. What are they good at? What do they need help with? Be honest because your child’s teacher will see it themselves anyway and it is best for them to be prepared.
  • Be specific. When describing your child and how they are in school and at home, be as specific as possible. Refer back to past assessments so that their teacher knows what to expect and how they can be the best champion for your child. When you describe your child's personality , use temperament terminology so you and their teacher are on the same page.
  • Keep it friendly and upbeat. This is the start of a new year and a new opportunity for your child to grow and learn. Their teacher is going to lead them on this new journey, so you and your child should be excited!
  • Be a partner. In your letter, express your intent to act as a partner to the teacher. You will work together with them to help your child be successful this year.

Now, we’ll outline some tips and templates to help you shorten and lengthen your description based on school requirements and time constraints. This will help ensure you hit all of the right points so you, your child, and their teacher will be successful and happy this year.

Dear Mr. Cohen,

I want to start by saying how excited we are for this school year! We have heard great things about your class and I know Jeremy and I are both thrilled for a new year of learning and adventure.

I thought it would be helpful for me to introduce you to Jeremy in this letter and let you know some information about him from home and from his past assessments. To start, Jeremy (he/him) is an excellent student and he is really motivated to do well in class. He is definitely best at math and can do a lot of math in his head very quickly.

However, because he is so advanced in this subject, he sometimes disrupts the class during these lessons. His teacher last year wrote this on one of his early assessments, “Jeremy can add & subtract large numbers in his head and he is often bored during math lessons because he is ahead of other students.”

Jeremy loves sports and competition, so we were able to develop an internal competition to help pay attention and stay focused in math class. I will continue that process at home, which should hopefully help keep the disruptions at bay. But, if you see this occurring in class again, please let me know. I want to be your partner this year to help make class as enjoyable and successful for you, Jeremy, and all of the students.

At home and in his other subjects, Jeremy is very quiet. He might need some additional prompting to answer questions, but he is doing the work and paying attention. Jeremy comes from a single parent household, but luckily, I work from home so I am able to be there with him when he returns from school each day.

Looking forward to working with you to make this the best year yet for Jeremy!

Use our editable template to write and send a letter describing your child to their teacher

If your school gives you a form to fill out at the beginning of the year or before the first parent-teacher conference, they might ask you to describe your child in a paragraph. We know, your child is your precious baby (despite how old they actually are!) and one paragraph might not feel like enough space. But, you can do it! Use these tips and our template to hit all of the key points.

Tips to describe your child in a paragraph

  • Stay focused. Remove the fluff and keep it as clear as possible since you do not have a lot of space.
  • Talk about your concerns. Does your child have a medical condition, allergy, bathroom issue, learning disability, or something of the sort? You want to make sure you talk to your child’s teachers about your concerns because it is the most important for them to understand.
  • Use examples. Since you do not have a lot of space, spend the time using actual examples from the past so your child’s teacher understands what you are saying and how they can help this year.

Use this template to describe your child in a paragraph:

“Jeremy (he/him) excels at math but can get disruptive during the lessons because of this. His teacher last year reported that, “Jeremy can add & subtract large numbers in his head and he is often bored during math lessons because he is ahead of other students.” He loves sports and competition, so games and challenges help keep him attentive. In his other subjects (and at home), Jeremy is quiet. He doesn’t enjoy reading on his own but he will do it for class. He is very motivated to do well in school.”

Hopefully our tips and templates will help you as you navigate how to describe your child to a teacher, but ultimately, you know your child best and you know what needs to be said to get them the support and care they need for a successful school year. The team at Sawyer is always here to help if you are looking for resources or fun activities for your children. Best of luck ahead!

How to Ace Your First Year of Teaching

School Setting Superimposed on Modern Community Head Profile Icons combined with an Abstract Geometric Pattern. Classroom management, early career teacher professional development.

  • Share article

When I began this essay in May, there were only 22 days left in the school year. Some were calling it the end of the year, but I called it 22 opportunities to grow as an educator.

Just kidding. I am not that teacher, and this is not that essay.

I am a teacher, though, and now I’ve finished my 10 th year in an 8 th grade classroom in the Philadelphia school district. Back in 2013, I completed my delightful-suburban student teaching and received a delightful-suburban wooden plaque that said “Student Teacher of the Year.” I was convinced I was the next big thing in education. I fantasized about my own TV show: a “Nanny 911”-style show, except with teaching, where I go into struggling classrooms and transform them into education showplaces.

Three months later, I started my actual career in Philadelphia. If I deserved an award, it would have been a yearbook superlative simply saying “worst.” Everything from my classroom culture to my instruction spiraled out of control my first few months, and the reality of having my own classroom in an underresourced community hit me hard. I crashed and burned because I thought I could waltz in from a suburban high school, where entire teams of seemingly well-rested staff members dedicated their resources to ensure every child attends college, and deliver that exact type of lecture-style instruction to 8 th grade children in a school that didn’t even have enough desks.

But now it’s 10 years later, and I’m still here. I’ve turned it around and I want to help you do the same. I’ve worked closely with many student-teachers, graduate students in yearlong mentorship programs, and first-year teachers. All these teachers have used at least some of the practices I’m going to share, and I’ve personally witnessed shifts take place within a month.

Before we get to the good stuff, it must be stated that there’s no monolithic urban classroom. However, most schools that enroll predominantly children of color from low-income families struggle with the same core problem—a lack of adequate resources for students, families, teachers, administrators, and even the building you’ll be walking into. Behavior concerns and lower academic achievement are not the root of the problem. Instead, those are the symptoms of a school’s lack of resources. Once you accept this, you can begin adding to the resources by improving the culture and performance of your classroom.

I’ve turned it around, and I want to help you do the same.

Be prepared to have just four walls, 28 desks, and 34 students all with different strengths and needs. If you’re struggling with classroom management, there won’t be a magical “office” where kids can be sent—just a secretary and a principal trying to figure out how to resolve an overflowing toilet when the school’s only custodian is out sick. There aren’t “assistant principals” running around to break up an escalating argument in your classroom. And there’s probably not even a well-stocked “supply closet.”

The only resource you can truly count on is yourself, and my goal is to help you personally create a welcoming, safe, and educational environment for your first year. Here’s what I’ve learned:

1. Teach with kindness. Teach with kindness and you’re more likely to receive it in return. Treat your students like rational adults, and that’s what they’ll eventually become. A simple “Can you have a seat real quick so I can go over this? Thank you!” is significantly more effective and better for everyone’s mental health (including yours) than barking “Sit down, NOW!”

2. Avoid getting into power struggles . When you “demand” a child do something, they’re either going to ignore you, hate you, start arguing, or most likely, all the above. Give each child a choice. “I need you to sit down or else I won’t be able to give you credit for this assignment.” This shows the truth: “Our teacher technically can’t force us to do anything, but there are consequences, and we get to make a choice about those.”

3. Communicate with families . If you’re anxious about calling, just text them. No matter how “tough” a kid might seem or no matter what you think you know about their home life, almost all of them have someone in their life that they want to make proud.

4. Establish rules and consequences . To this day, I still have three rules: Stay in your seat, keep your hands to yourself, and don’t talk across the classroom. If a rule is broken, have a clear and immediate consequence (incorporating the tip above is easy).

5. Stop yelling. Yelling is just exhausting yourself. I’ve never had a “good scream” in my life nor have I ever thought while being screamed at: “I’m going to work harder now to please this person.”

6. Face your classroom at all times . Whether you’re answering your classroom phone, taking attendance, or helping a student, turn your body to get a clear view of all children at all times.

7. It’s OK to ask your students to wait. If a student needs help, has a concern about their grade, or wants to tell you about their birthday, make sure that your classroom is completely safe and calm before giving students individualized attention. You’ll learn early on that it helps teach students patience and it’s not a human-rights violation to tell your frequent flier students “Ask me again in 10 minutes” when they ask to use the restroom.

8. Don’t stress about your administrators. It’s OK if your administrators don’t always like what you’re doing. You don’t need to wow them—this isn’t a corporate job, and you won’t get fired, especially if you’re in a union. Instead, your relationship with your administrator should be collaborative. Ask their opinion, hear it out, then do what’s best for you.

9. Enjoy yourself. There’s a teaching adage that says “Don’t smile until December.” Smile on the first day of school, and if you can, smile the next day, too. If a kid says something funny, you’re allowed to laugh. Students will match your energy and your mood, and if you create a positive classroom, you’ll feel the impact when you go home and so will they.

Every teacher, child, class, and school is different, but I believe these are universal tips that can help any teacher, even the ones who won’t crash and burn at the start of the year the way I once did. I wish you luck in your journey!

The Ethicist

Should my wife and i tell our 8-year-old how much money we make.

The magazine’s Ethicist columnist on the kinds of information that can be burdensome to children.

An illustration of a family standing together, oriented around a large novelty check. The mother holds the check, the father suspensefully unpeels a sticker covering the “dollar amount” field and the little girl looks on with anticipation.

By Kwame Anthony Appiah

My 8-year-old child is asking my wife and me how much money our family makes. She wants us to be specific with the dollar amounts that we receive in our paychecks. We’ve just told her that we make enough to afford our rent, food and all the things we need to live the way we do.

In the past, we have told her that we might not have enough money to buy things for her or ourselves, which is true. My wife and I are employed in noncommercial fields (one of us is a teacher and the other works at a nonprofit), and we practically live paycheck to paycheck. We want to be open with our child but don’t want her to worry about whether we have enough. We also are thinking about how she might use our income in conversations with her peers, as she also mentioned that some of her classmates identify as ‘‘poor.’’

We are not sure how much to share so as to give her a realistic, informed view of our financial realities while not burdening her. We don’t want her to use our income to ‘‘other’’ or feel ‘‘othered’’ by her peers. That is, we don’t want the money to be used to make any of these children feel radically different from one another. — Logan

From the Ethicist:

It would be better if we lived in a world in which people could be open about their earnings without encountering a set of largely pernicious class attitudes. There’s no dishonor in making a social contribution while having to stretch a paycheck to look after your family. (There may be something dishonorable about how meagerly we compensate teachers; in a better world, you would probably both be more highly paid.) But the world we live in poses the issues that you identify, and 8-year-olds shouldn’t be expected to keep confidences. Maybe the place to start is not announcing your incomes but discussing the ‘‘othering’’ attitudes that justly concern you. That a slim paycheck is nothing to be ashamed of is the main thing you’ll want your child to understand as she grows up.

A Bonus Question

I recently purchased a skirt at a neighborhood boutique. I tried it on there, looked in their mirror and was very pleased with how it looked, so I bought it.

When I got home, I realized the store’s mirrors are the kind that make you look slimmer than you really are. Is this ethical of the store to have a mirror that might entice people to think they look better than they really do? — Mary Anne
