How To Prezi In Powerpoint

Are you looking to take your PowerPoint presentations to the next level?

Learn about Prezi and how to incorporate it into your slideshows. We explore the differences and similarities between Prezi and PowerPoint and provide a step-by-step guide on how to use Prezi in PowerPoint.

Discover the benefits and limitations of using Prezi in PowerPoint, from adding dynamic elements to engaging your audience. Enhance your presentation skills with this innovative tool!

Key Takeaways:

  • Prezi and PowerPoint are both presentation tools that have similar features such as slide transitions and the ability to add media.
  • Prezi adds a dynamic and non-linear element to PowerPoint presentations, allowing for a more engaging and interactive experience for the audience.
  • Using Prezi in PowerPoint may have limitations, such as the need to download an add-in and potential compatibility issues with older versions of PowerPoint.

What is Prezi?

Prezi is a presentation software that offers a unique, non-linear approach to creating engaging and dynamic presentations.

What sets Prezi apart from traditional presentation tools is its zoomable canvas, allowing users to navigate through content freely, unlike the linear progression of slides in conventional platforms. With Prezi, users can create visually captivating presentations that flow seamlessly, capturing the attention of the audience while emphasizing key points effectively. Moreover, Prezi enables presenters to inject multimedia elements like videos, images, and animations into their slides, making the presentation experience more interactive and engaging.

What is PowerPoint?

PowerPoint is a widely used presentation software developed by Microsoft that allows users to create visually appealing slideshows for various purposes.

This versatile tool provides a platform where you can design engaging slides, incorporate multimedia elements, animations, and transitions, and also add charts, graphs, and diagrams to convey information effectively. With its user-friendly interface and a wide range of templates, fonts, and design options, PowerPoint caters to professionals in business settings, educators in classrooms, and presenters in various industries. The ability to share slideshows electronically, present remotely, and collaborate in real time further enhances its utility across different sectors. Its integration with other Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel adds to its convenience and efficiency.

What are the Similarities Between Prezi and PowerPoint?

Both Prezi and PowerPoint are powerful presentation tools that enable users to create visually engaging slideshows with seamless transitions, animations, and multimedia integration.

One of the key features that Prezi and PowerPoint have in common is their ability to customize slide designs with various visually stimulating templates, shapes, colors, and fonts, providing users with ample creative freedom.

  • Both platforms offer the convenience of embedding images, videos, audio clips, and charts directly into presentation slides, enhancing the overall dynamic appeal.
  • Whether it’s utilizing pre-set animations or creating custom animated sequences, Prezi and PowerPoint give the power to users to add movement to their content, capturing audience’s attention and conveying information effectively.
  • The seamless transition options in both tools ensure a smooth flow between slides, maintaining engagement and keeping viewers focused on the presentation content.

Both are Presentation Tools

Prezi and PowerPoint serve as essential presentation tools for individuals and organizations looking to convey information in a visually compelling manner.

Both Prezi and PowerPoint offer unique features that cater to different presentation styles. While Prezi provides a dynamic canvas that allows presenters to zoom in and out of content, creating an engaging storytelling experience, PowerPoint focuses on slide-based presentations with a linear flow. Users can create visually appealing slideshows using a variety of templates, themes, animations, and transitions in both tools.

Moreover, Prezi enables presenters to organize content spatially, offering a non-linear approach to presenting information. On the other hand, PowerPoint provides a structured format suitable for more traditional presentations.

Both have Slide Transitions and Animations

Both Prezi and PowerPoint offer users the ability to incorporate slide transitions and animations to enhance the visual appeal and interactivity of their presentations.

In terms of slide transitions, Prezi provides a unique zooming effect, allowing the content to flow seamlessly from one point to the next, creating a dynamic and engaging experience for viewers.

On the other hand, PowerPoint offers a variety of transition styles, from simple fades to more intricate effects like morph and dissolve.

For animations, both platforms enable users to bring elements on their slides to life, whether it’s text, images, or shapes. These animations can emphasize key points, add visual interest, and maintain audience focus throughout the presentation.

Both can Add Media

Both Prezi and PowerPoint allow users to seamlessly integrate various types of media, including images, videos, and audio, to enrich their presentations and deliver information effectively.

In terms of creating engaging and dynamic presentations, the incorporation of multimedia elements is key. Visual aids such as high-quality images not only capture the audience’s attention but also reinforce key points. Embedding videos that demonstrate concepts visually can greatly enhance the clarity and impact of the message being conveyed. Integrating audio clips can create a more immersive experience for the viewers, making the presentation more memorable and engaging.

What are the Differences Between Prezi and PowerPoint?

While both Prezi and PowerPoint are presentation tools, they differ in their approach to content organization, design options, and overall user experience.

Prezi offers a non-linear presentation style, allowing users to zoom in and out of content for a fluid and interactive experience, whereas PowerPoint follows a traditional linear format with slide-by-slide progression. Design flexibility is another area where these tools contrast – Prezi gives the power to users to create dynamic, visually engaging presentations with its canvas-based interface, while PowerPoint is known for its structured slide templates that offer a more traditional design approach.

In terms of user interface, Prezi has a reputation for being more innovative and user-friendly, with features like seamless collaboration and cloud-based storage enhancing teamwork and accessibility. On the other hand, PowerPoint’s interface is often preferred for its familiarity and ease of use, especially for those accustomed to traditional slide-driven presentations.

Prezi is Non-linear, PowerPoint is Linear

One key difference between Prezi and PowerPoint is that Prezi offers a non-linear presentation structure, allowing users to navigate content freely, while PowerPoint follows a linear sequence of slides.

When using Prezi, presenters can create dynamic and interactive presentations by zooming in and out of various topics or ideas, creating a more fluid and engaging experience for the audience. This non-linear approach enables storytellers to emphasize the relationships between different concepts effectively.

On the other hand, PowerPoint’s linear format is known for its straightforward slide-by-slide progression, making it ideal for presenting information sequentially or chronologically. While this can be great for structured content delivery, it may sometimes limit the presenter’s ability to explore tangential points or allow for spontaneous interactions with the audience.

Prezi has a Zooming and Panning Feature

Prezi distinguishes itself from PowerPoint with its unique zooming and panning feature, allowing users to create dynamic visual journeys through their content by zooming in and out of details.

This functionality is particularly effective when presenting intricate concepts or data sets, giving audiences a closer look at the specifics while also providing a broader view of context.

  • Users can zoom in to highlight key points,
  • emphasizing important information
  • and guiding the audience’s attention, then seamlessly pan to reveal the larger picture,
  • showing how these details fit into the overall narrative.
  • This interactive approach not only keeps viewers engaged but also aids in better information retention due to the dual focus on detail and context.

PowerPoint has a Wider Range of Design Options

PowerPoint offers users a broader selection of design options, including customizable templates, color schemes, layouts, and formatting tools, allowing for more personalized and visually appealing presentations.

With PowerPoint’s customizable templates, users can effortlessly change the look and feel of their slides to match their branding or individual style. The rich variety of color schemes not only add aesthetic appeal but also help in conveying a particular mood or message effectively. The flexibility in layouts enables users to experiment with different arrangements of text, images, and other elements, ensuring a dynamic and engaging presentation format.

How to Use Prezi in PowerPoint?

Integrating Prezi into PowerPoint can enhance your presentation capabilities by combining Prezi’s dynamic features with PowerPoint’s familiar interface and functionalities.

By seamlessly incorporating Prezi elements into your PowerPoint presentations, you can create more engaging and visually appealing slides. To do this, first, open both Prezi and PowerPoint simultaneously on your computer. Next, select the desired Prezi presentation and navigate to the specific slide you wish to import into PowerPoint. Then, simply copy the content or screenshot the visual from Prezi and paste it into your PowerPoint slide.

This integration not only allows you to leverage the unique design capabilities of Prezi within the traditional PowerPoint environment but also enables you to seamlessly transition between the two platforms during your presentation. By utilizing features like PowerPoint Labs and leveraging the collaborative power of Office 365, you can further enhance your slides with advanced animations, interactive elements, and cloud-based sharing options.

Download and Install Prezi Add-in for PowerPoint

To begin using Prezi in PowerPoint, users need to download and install the Prezi add-in, which seamlessly integrates Prezi functionalities into the PowerPoint environment.

By adding this add-in , users can elevate their presentation quality by incorporating Prezi’s dynamic features within the familiar PowerPoint interface. This allows for creating visually engaging content with Prezi’s unique transitions and animations, enhancing the overall delivery and impact of presentations.

The compatibility of the Prezi add-in with Office 365 streamlines the workflow, enabling seamless collaboration and sharing of presentations across different devices and platforms. This integration of software tools optimizes productivity and creativity by leveraging the strengths of both Prezi and PowerPoint.

Choose a Prezi Template or Create a New One

Next, users can select a pre-designed Prezi template or create a new one to establish the visual theme and layout of their presentation in PowerPoint.

Choosing a pre-designed template can save time and provide a professional look instantly. For a more tailored approach, designing a custom template allows users to showcase their brand identity and maintain design consistency throughout the presentation.

When creating a custom template, it’s essential to consider elements like color scheme, font styles, image placement, and overall visual hierarchy to ensure a polished and cohesive look. Whether selecting a pre-made template or crafting a unique design, the key is to keep the visual coherence to captivate and engage the audience effectively.

Customize the Prezi in PowerPoint

Users can customize the Prezi elements within PowerPoint by adjusting design elements, color schemes, and layout options to create a cohesive and visually appealing presentation.

Incorporating style consistency throughout your presentation is crucial for a professional look. Utilize the ‘Format Background’ option to select complementary colors or gradients that enhance your content. Remember to maintain a balance in your chosen color palette to avoid overwhelming your audience or creating distractions. Consider experimenting with various font styles and sizes to emphasize key points and maintain readability.

  • Experiment with different layouts to find the one that best suits your content. Elaborate designs can effectively showcase creativity, while minimalist layouts provide a clean and focused approach.
  • Use strategic placements of images, charts, and text boxes to guide the viewer’s attention and enhance the flow of your presentation.

Add Transitions and Animations to Enhance the Presentation

To elevate the presentation dynamics, users can incorporate transitions and animations from both Prezi and PowerPoint to create a seamless and engaging visual experience for the audience.

Adding transitions and animations to elements in PowerPoint can truly elevate the visual appeal of your presentation. For transitions, users can choose from a range of effects like Fade, Push, Wipe, and more to smoothly transition between slides and keep the audience engaged.

Similarly, animations bring life to individual elements on a slide. By animating text, images, graphs, or shapes, presenters can emphasize key points, guide the audience’s focus, and make information more memorable.

By carefully selecting and strategically placing transitions and animations, presenters can ensure that their message is not only heard but also seen and felt by the audience.

What are the Benefits of Using Prezi in PowerPoint?

Integrating Prezi features into PowerPoint presentations can add a dynamic and interactive element that elevates the overall professionalism and engagement of the content.

By incorporating Prezi elements into your PowerPoint slides, you open the door to a world of possibilities that can transform your presentations into captivating experiences. The seamless transitions, zooming effects, and non-linear storytelling capabilities offered by Prezi add a layer of interactivity that keeps the audience engaged and eager to explore the content further.

  • Enhanced visual effects through Prezi can break away from the traditional linear format of PowerPoint, offering a more dynamic and visually stimulating journey for the viewers.
  • The professional appeal that comes with using Prezi design elements can elevate the overall aesthetics of your presentation, leaving a lasting impression on your audience.
  • Engaging with audiences on a deeper level becomes easier as Prezi allows for more personalized and customized content delivery, fostering better connections and understanding.

Adds a Dynamic and Interactive Element to the Presentation

By incorporating Prezi’s dynamic and interactive features, PowerPoint presentations can engage viewers with visually stimulating content that goes beyond traditional static slides.

With the integration of Prezi into PowerPoint, presenters can easily incorporate eye-catching transitions, zooming effects, and 3D rotations, creating a more immersive experience for the audience. This fusion of dynamic elements not only captures attention but also aids in information retention, as viewers are more likely to remember key points presented in a visually appealing manner.

The interactive capabilities of Prezi allow presenters to customize the flow of the presentation based on audience responses, encouraging participation and making the session more engaging. Features like embedded videos, live polls, and clickable links enable a seamless navigation experience, keeping viewers actively involved throughout the presentation.

Allows for Non-linear Presentation Flow

The incorporation of Prezi elements enables presenters to create non-linear presentation flows within PowerPoint, offering a more flexible and engaging narrative structure for viewers.

This innovative approach allows presenters to move away from the traditional linear slide-by-slide format, encouraging dynamic storytelling through interconnected visual elements and fluid transitions. By utilizing zoomable canvas and path tools, presenters can guide the audience through a journey that adapts to their preferences and interactions, fostering deeper engagement.

Can Help Engage and Capture the Audience’s Attention

The use of Prezi elements in PowerPoint presentations can significantly increase audience engagement and capture attention through visually compelling content and interactive storytelling.

By seamlessly integrating features from Prezi into PowerPoint, presenters can elevate the quality of their presentations and create a more immersive experience for the viewers. With interactive visuals and engaging narratives, the audience is not merely passive observers but active participants in the storytelling process. This active engagement can lead to better information retention and a higher likelihood of the message resonating with the audience. Incorporating elements that encourage audience interaction can make the presentation more memorable and impactful.

What are the Limitations of Using Prezi in PowerPoint?

While integrating Prezi into PowerPoint offers numerous benefits, there are some limitations to consider, such as the need for add-in downloads, potential compatibility issues, and navigation challenges for first-time users.

One of the drawbacks of using Prezi elements in PowerPoint is the requirement for downloading add-ins, which can be cumbersome and may raise security concerns for some users. Software compatibility can be an issue, especially when working with older versions of PowerPoint or different operating systems.

The user interface complexities also pose challenges, as transitioning from the traditional PowerPoint format to the dynamic Prezi features may require a learning curve and could potentially slow down the presentation creation process.

Requires Download and Installation of Add-in

One limitation of using Prezi in PowerPoint is the necessity of downloading and installing the Prezi add-in, which may pose initial setup challenges for users.

To download and install the Prezi add-in in PowerPoint, users need to navigate to the Prezi website or the Microsoft Office Store to locate the add-in. Once identified, the installation process requires clicking on the ‘Download’ or ‘Add to PowerPoint’ button depending on the platform. Ensuring a stable internet connection is crucial to prevent disruptions during the download process.

May Not Be Compatible with Older Versions of PowerPoint

Another limitation of using Prezi elements in PowerPoint is the potential compatibility issues with older versions of PowerPoint software, which may restrict access to certain features or functionalities.

When working with older versions of PowerPoint, users may encounter challenges such as formatting inconsistencies, missing elements, or even errors when importing Prezi content. These issues arise due to differences in software architecture, compatibility constraints, and varying file formats between Prezi and outdated PowerPoint versions.

To address these compatibility hitches, one possible workaround is to export the Prezi presentation as a compatible file type like PDF or images and then import them into the older PowerPoint version. While this method may not retain the dynamic elements of Prezi, it ensures smoother integration with legacy PowerPoint software.

Can Be Difficult to Navigate for First-time Users

Navigating the integration of Prezi elements in PowerPoint may present challenges for first-time users, especially in terms of transitioning between the unique features of both platforms.

Upon initial exploration, users might find it perplexing to adapt Prezi’s dynamic canvas to PowerPoint’s slide-based structure. To ease this transition, familiarizing oneself with key functionalities such as zoom effects and nonlinear presentations in Prezi is paramount. Utilizing PowerPoint’s slide layout options along with embedding Prezi content can enhance visual storytelling.

Understanding how to effectively use Prezi’s templates and themes within PowerPoint slides can significantly improve the visual appeal and engagement of presentations. Leveraging the strengths of each platform while merging them seamlessly is the ultimate goal for a smooth user experience.

Insert Prezi Classic into Powerpoint [No Plugins Required]

how-to-add-embed-prezi-to-powerpoint

A very common request for people using both PowerPoint and Prezi is how insert and play a Prezi presentation on a PowerPoint Slide . The good news is that this can be done without the need to download any plugins and described method will work with PowerPoint 2007 and above (process is slightly different for older versions but is also possible). The trick does require a bit of work but should only take a few minutes of your time.

With the below example I will show how to embed an online Prezi into PowerPoint, so it can be played without exiting the presentation mode. The Prezi will act just like a video or image that you can show on any slide. Inserting a Prezi to PowerPoint includes few steps:

1) Insert a Microsoft Web Browser to your slide

powerpoint-insert-microsoft-web-browser

The first step is to add a Web Browser window to the slide you have selected.

1) Click the Developer tab ( Click here if you don’t have the Developer tab visible )

2) In the developer tab Click More Options (Icon with wrench and hammer)

prezi-into-powerpoint

3) Scroll down and Choose Microsoft Web Browser and click Ok (If you receive an error, you must change a few settings in your Windows registry )

4) Next it seems like nothing happened, but now you can actually click and draw the browser window on your slide . Make it as large as you want, you can resize the window any time later on. Once completed it should look something like this:

prezi-in-powerpoint-web-browser

2) Link the Web Browser to Your Prezi

This step requires you to a add small piece of code to PowerPoint. This code will link the window you just created to the URL of your online Prezi presentation.

1) In PowerPoint, hold down the Alt key and press f11

2) In the new window that came up choose  Insert and then Module

3) Double click on module, this will open up a text area.

4) Into the text area, paste the following code:

insert-prezi-to-powerpoint-module

Important: Do not paste your entire Prezi URL, just replace the 12 symbol code. Also define on which slide your Prezi will be, as shown on step number 5.

3) Add Action Button Which Will Load Prezi in Your Presentation

This step is fairly simple, but it is required because the window will not automatically load your Prezi. You need to create an action button – this can be anything like an image or even just a simple text.

1) Select the object you would like to make the button (text or image) , in this example we will use the text My Prezi

2) While the object is selected, head to the Insert menu and click Action

3) In the Actions box select Run Macro and it should automatically select the only macro command that we just created. Hit Ok.

insert-action-button-play-prezi-in-powerpoint

4) Save Your PowerPoint with a Correct File Type

For the PowerPoint to work you will need to save it not in a regular format, but use the second option.

1) Choose file and Save as

2) Save as PowerPoint Macro-Enabled Presentation .pptm

macro-enabled-PPT

5) Important Tips:

  • As always before presenting your PowerPoint, click and play it through once as this will load your Prezi. If you get to the actual presenting, then the Prezi is already downloaded onto the PC and it will be loaded in a few seconds and it won’t start to download while people are waiting.
  • Essentially PowerPoint might give some warnings and popups about security about Prezi.com accessing files or not being able to access them, however your Prezi will play fine. The important thing is just to play the whole situation through, so if an error pops up, you can simply continue.

[button link=”https://prezibase.com/free/preview/prezi.pptm” style=”download”]Download the Example PowerPoint File[/button]

Found this article useful sharing is caring, 6 thoughts on “ insert prezi classic into powerpoint [no plugins required] ”.

I’ve followed all steps up to “Add Action Button” but when I click the “Action,” the “Run Macro” radio button is greyed out and I’m not able to select it.

I had no problem with the previous steps (entering the 12 character prezi link, slide numer, etc.

Any solution to this problem?

It might be related to the version of PowerPoint or even Windows used. I attached the example PowerPoint file to the end of the tutorial. You can download the file and replace the Prezi code with your own to test if this file will work.

So that means I have to pay Prezi account before following these steps?

No, this works with any online Prezi presentation, and is not linked with the account type

So when I sent that powerpoint document to others laptop, why couldn’t I run it? That means different PCs => False? Sorry for poor English 🙁

Do these other laptops have the same PPT version? If you want you can also send the PPT to us: templates at prezibase.com and we can take a look at why it didn’t work.

How to Convert Prezi to PowerPoint

Let’s say that you have created a nice Prezi presentation using any of the free Prezi templates and themes with animations and awesome effects, but at the end of the day you just need to get back to PowerPoint because all your schoolmates use MS PowerPoint and have it installed in their computers. Well, the question here would be How to Convert Prezi to PowerPoint?

We can do that in different ways, but first you can export the text of your Prezi presentation as a plain text file by using the Edit button in Prezi and then copy it into a text file. Now you can download the Prezi as PDF document.

When you have the PDF document you can open it in any Adobe PDF Viewer.

Here hopefully you will have all your slides in a PDF format.

From now, you can export the PDF into individual PNG or JPG files which will correspond to the slides in the new PowerPoint presentation. Alternatively you can upload your PDF presentation to SlideOnline and then you will get the images exported for the web.

Now, in PowerPoint presentation we will troubleshoot by using the Photo Album option. This will let you pick the images PNG or JPG from your hard disk and create a presentation based on the images.

Of course, this is not very elegant because you will be using images instead of shapes and text and the overall file size can be quite big but if you need a workaround to convert your Prezi PPT to PowerPoint again, then this can do the work. Another bad idea of using this method is after converting from Prezi to PowerPoint the text won’t be editable any more unless you know how to use Photoshop.

There is a good site we found today while we wrote this article that is Crazyegg – 7 Outstanding Example Presentations Using Prezi  – if you are looking for free Prezi templates for inspiration then it worth to take a look.

I have difficulty working with Prezi. Instead I am preparing my slides from PowerPoint Even with that I am still not following the different processes. I really want to do presentation at my school. Can you please give me a step by step written instructions on working with Prezi and a step by step illustrations when importing from the PowerPoint into Prezi Thanks David David

You may try the following. At the top of the screen in Prezi there is a an option “PowerPoint” that you can click in order to open a Browse window and then be able to pick the PowerPoint file. Navigate to find the PowerPoint file that you want to upload and then confirm. This process can help you to turn your PowerPoint presentation into Prezi. Once you have selected a PowerPoint presentation, the slides should be loaded in Prezi on the right-hand side. Now you can choose to insert all the slides or just individual slides, depending on your needs.

I’d strongly recommend you the book Prezi for Education that you can purchase at Amazon (it is available for Kindle).

Alternatively, you may continue using PowerPoint instead of Prezi. It is still one of the most powerful presentation software around the world. If you need professional PowerPoint presentation templates I’d recommend you to check SlideModel.com to download PowerPoint templates .

You’ve spent hours creating the perfect PowerPoint presentation – you’ve aligned everything, included visuals, cut down the text – and you’re pumped up about delivering it. The problem is, everyone else is using the same linear slide deck format. Next to all of these other decks, your killer presentation suddenly feels more cookie cutter than cutting edge. But you’ve already done the work – how can you create something exciting without having to invest the time and energy starting from scratch?

Presenting: PowerPoint Converter in Prezi.

With PowerPoint Converter, you can create an engaging, zooming Prezi presentation without any prior knowledge of Prezi. It’s simple – once you’ve made a presentation using your favorite PowerPoint template, you only need a few clicks to turn a slide deck into something much more dynamic and interesting.

You can get started immediately , or keep reading for some examples of PowerPoint templates that work well with our PowerPoint Converter feature.

Make your presentation more visual

This presentation template from Slides Carnival works well with Prezi's PowerPoint Converter.

We’ve all been in meetings where a slide pops full of text (and only text), prompting us to immediately stop paying attention. And it’s not your fault for tuning out – it’s because the content isn’t visual enough. In our 2018 State of Attention Report , we found that a third of all surveyed business professionals said visual stimulation was vital in keeping them engaged.

This free PowerPoint template from Slides Carnival features plenty of visuals that you can replace with your own images. Click the image you want to replace, then upload the new image – it’ll automatically crop it to a circle as well. If you’d like to change the icon, we recommend deleting the icon, then once you convert it to a Prezi presentation, you can take advantage of Prezi’s library of 500,000+ images and icons to find the best replacement.

You can also use the same image library to replace your background image. Click on the cycle icon to go through random images, or search for a specific image that complements your other visuals. Finally, we recommend using the circle shape for your Prezi topics to match the style found in the PowerPoint template. But of course, choose the shape or layout that best fits your needs.

Make charts zoomable with PowerPoint Converter

Use Prezi's PowerPoint Converter to zoom into specific areas of charts.

If you need to present a large amount of data, don’t just dump a bunch of numbers on slides. People are drawn to visuals, so give the same treatment to your data. This free PowerPoint template from Envato Elements features a wide range of charts and graphics to help you start visualizing your data.

When turning your data into charts, be sure to follow some general best practices to keep your data clean and easy to read, such as keeping labels consistent and being more selective with colors. For a more comprehensive list of best practices, check out Infogram’s dos and don’ts for charts .

Once you’ve added your data, you can easily import those charts into Prezi using PowerPoint Converter. From there, group your slides together by topic to make it easier to navigate to the most relevant content. You can also use zoom animations to focus in on the most important data points or to tell a more compelling data story through movement.

Turn to presentation templates to show the big picture

Start with the big picture and then zoom in by using Prezi's PowerPoint Converter.

Presenting the big picture during a meeting can give your audience vital context, or put into perspective the impact their work has had on the company overall. Don’t undermine the importance of this information by trying to convey it via bullet points or clip art. Instead, use a visual such as a map to highlight the big picture.

This free PowerPoint presentation template from SlideModel includes two different maps you can use for your deck. Add in the necessary information, then easily turn it into a Prezi presentation with the PowerPoint Converter feature. From there, you can add animations such as fade-in and zoom to focus on specific information. Or, you can start from something small, then gradually zoom out to reveal the big picture, showing the relationships between everything through movement rather than text.

The template also includes relatively limited space for text, which encourages cutting down on words and using more visuals. Once you convert it into a Prezi presentation, you can also group the slides by topic to help your audience keep that bigger idea in mind before drilling into specifics.

Use PowerPoint Converter to make your slides extra iconic

Use icons in your presentation to make it clearer and easier to understand.

Instead of using lengthy titles and descriptions, condense all that information into one great icon and a few choice words. This PowerPoint template from Slideforest features simple shapes, a splash of color, and plenty of icons so you can make your point more concisely.

Want different icons? You can pick from Prezi’s icon library after you’ve used the PowerPoint Converter. If you need to recolor the icons, you can also download free icons from a site like Icons8 .

Once you’ve converted the slides, there is a range of shapes and layouts you can apply. Try them out and see what fits your content the best. Additionally, when you click on multiple slides and drag them into your Prezi presentation overview, it’ll automatically group them into topics. Add an icon on the topic circle to help your audience know what to expect at a glance.

And don’t forget to change your background image to something striking and impactful – this will be the first thing people see when they view your presentation and will be a common element that ties together your message. You can randomize the background image, search for a relevant image directly within Prezi, or upload your own image.

A more effective timeline

Instead of only having an overwhelming timeline full of information, you can use Prezi to zoom into specific parts.

When you’re working with timelines, it’s natural to want to put everything on one slide. The problem is, this can lead to an overwhelming amount of information being thrown at your audience at once. Additionally, they may skim over the information (or worse, attempt to read and listen at the same time ).

To create an effective timeline, you can start with this presentation template from 24slides. It features several different versions of timelines for you to use, along with icons. Once you’ve edited it with your content, use PowerPoint Converter in Prezi to start really bringing those timelines to life.

Instead of having information overload, add animations within Prezi to focus in on one part of the timeline at once. By having only one part of the timeline on the screen, you can keep everyone paying attention to the most pertinent information without having them read ahead or tune it out. Additionally, if your zoom areas are close to each other, then the screen will pan to each one, illustrating the order and relationship of each point.

Once you’ve covered each point, you can zoom back to the topic to show the entire timeline and reiterate how each person’s responsibilities fit into the overall goals.

After investing the time and energy into creating an excellent PowerPoint presentation, wouldn’t it be great if you could wow your audience? Don’t let people multitask or distract themselves while you’re presenting. With a few easy steps, you can quickly turn your deck into an engaging, dynamic, and zooming Prezi presentation.

Once you’re comfortable converting PowerPoint decks, try creating an engaging Prezi presentation from scratch or with one of our designer presentation templates . Our templates cover a wide range of use cases and industries, so you’re sure to find something that fits your needs.

Start adding wow to your presentations today – try out PowerPoint Converter from your Prezi dashboard .

5 Better Alternatives To Google Slides

I f you're looking to create a compelling presentation to showcase a new idea or persuade others, Google Slides may be the first option that comes to mind. But with few built-in templates, basic themes, and a limited graphics collection, you'll likely have a hard time making your presentation stand out against others.

If you want to make your presentation truly stand out, there are several alternatives to Google Slides that offer extra perks and features to give your presentations an edge. While Google focuses on integrating Slides with its other work-based apps like Sheets and Docs, other presentation apps focus more on design elements, transitions, and themes to help you convey your brand or personal image throughout your presentation.

We've tested these Google Slide alternatives to give you an idea of other available options to deliver impactful presentations. If you're looking for a way to make boring information more fun and engaging, here are the best presentation apps to replace Google Slides.

Microsoft PowerPoint

There's a reason so many businesses around the globe use Microsoft PowerPoint. Building its reputation as the go-to option for delivering high-quality presentations, the software generated $100 million in annual sales only three years after its initial release in 1990.

Microsoft PowerPoint may be Google Slides' largest competitor, but there are plenty of unique features that can add an extra flourish to your slides. PowerPoint excels in its impressive library of custom animations and slide transitions, which are fairly limited in Google Slides. Another unique feature is its AI-powered Designer tool. This provides professional design schemes that mirror the words used in your slides. For instance, if your title slide is named "Basketball Team 2024," Designer will automatically suggest pictures and slide layouts associated with basketball.

As PowerPoint has been in development longer than Google Slides, it naturally offers more nuanced features if you're looking for something specific. For example, you can save individual slides as an image file (using .png or .jpeg formats) or as a separate presentation file. There's also a large library of free PowerPoint templates designed to speed up your workflow. Moreover, PowerPoint integrates seamlessly with Microsoft Teams with its PowerPoint Live function, allowing you to easily share your presentation with your co-workers.

Prezi offers an innovative approach to showing presentations with its unique canvas feature. Unlike traditional presentation software, Prezi lets you zoom and pan around a flexible canvas. The canvas may feel distant to something of a presentation program, but there is still some linear order provided thanks to the Timeline view.

Finding ways to visualize data is one of the biggest challenges when dealing with presentation software. Prezi resolves this struggle with the help of its Story Blocks: a series of infographics available in multiple designs to visually represent data. You can easily edit infographics and even add animations to individual shapes. This can help add a story to your presentation and help you emphasize key points.

To further enhance your presentation visually, Prezi offers several topic path settings, which let you change how Prezi transitions from one topic to another. These options include subtopics, which are super helpful for breaking large chunks of information down. If you're looking for a unique, modern approach to presenting information, Prezi is a top pick.

If you're looking to create a professional presentation to convince potential clients about your business idea, Slidebean is a popular choice among professionals with plenty of customization options. One of the issues with Google Slides is its fairly limited template library, which is filled mostly with basic designs. Slidebean offers a better alternative with a broad selection of innovative templates split into categories for convenience.

The app's user interface is easy to navigate so that you can create slides in less time. Each slide has a dedicated Design and Outline tab. You can use the Outline tab to quickly edit the information on each slide without being distracted by all the visual elements. Another productivity-enhancing feature is the ability to generate a presentation theme from your website. Simply enter your URL, and Slidebean will automatically apply the theming to your presentation.

Slidebean is another presentation app to take advantage of AI. Using the Auto-Design feature, you can generate recommended slide layouts based on your existing content. It also features AI text suggestions designed to suit different industries. Overall, Slidebean offers a quicker, more efficient method for creating stunning presentations compared to Google Slides.

Canva is a well-known app among graphic designers, but it's also capable of making stunning presentations. The app also has mobile editions, so you can easily create and edit presentations on your Android phone , iOS device, or tablet. As long as you have an internet connection, you can modify your designs wherever you are.

To get started, head to Canva's online presentation maker . Canva offers a vast range of templates categorized by topic, which easily surpasses the simple templates in Google Slides . While some of the templates are only available to Canva Pro members, there is an ample amount of free templates to help you get started. You'll also find a large selection of stock photos, shapes, and illustrations to create beautiful customized slides.

Because Canva is built for graphic designers, you can access several features to give your presentation consistent theming. These include color palettes, font sets, and even a brand kit that allows you to add your company's fonts (available to Pro members only). One time-saving feature is Canva's Uploads tab, which lets you access recently uploaded media files. This offers a convenient way to copy content between different presentations.

Visme is a powerful visual design tool able to create videos, infographics, and presentations. One of the perks of using Visme is the company's free educational content, which offers advice on how to create impactful content to boost your brand. After signing up, the company also asks whether you're using Visme for your business, education purposes, or personal use to offer personalized tips.

In terms of charts and graphs, Visme offers some of the most impressive features we've seen from a presentation app, so you can effortlessly convey important statistics. From the Data tab, you can access dozens of graph styles to visually represent your data. Then, simply double-click a chart inside your presentation to edit the values instantly in a simple table format.

Another area that Visme excels in is collaboration. You can either generate a link to publish your presentation on the web or share your presentation privately with others. For each team member, you can choose who can view, edit, and comment slides for a seamless workflow. There's also a Slack integration that lets you receive messages whenever changes are made to your presentation. Visme is free for all users, with limited features available in its premium plans.
