BI retains position among top executive education providers globally

BI’s customised and open-enrolment programmes are ranked among the 60 best executive education courses offered by business schools worldwide on the prestigious Financial Times’ executive education ranking list for 2024.

The Financial Times Executive Education Ranking consists of two categories. One for customised programmes, which are offered tailored to specific corporate clients and one for open-enrollment courses, which include short programmes, executive master programmes and online courses for business professionals.

“In a volatile and changing economic environment, businesses seek professional development courses and updated skills to remain competitive. Being ranked among the top institutions in the world shows that we deliver relevant and valuable executive education for our students and business partners,” says Karen Spens, President at BI Norwegian Business School.

BI ranks as number 59 for customised programmes among 90 schools, up from 65 last year, and number 58 in the world for open-enrolment courses among 80 schools on the list, down from 51 last year.

HEC Paris tops the open enrolment table, ahead of Spain’s Iese Business School and Esade, while France’s Insead is seen as the best school for customised executive programmes followed by Iese Business School and the Swiss IMD.

The rankings cover various aspects such as client interaction, programme design, teaching methods, faculty quality, learning outcomes, follow-up support, achievement of aims, value for money, future use likelihood, international reach, growth, partnerships, and faculty diversity.

Clients rate these criteria based on their experiences, with overall satisfaction being measured separately.

  • The Financial Times has nine rankings throughout the year, of which BI normally participates in five: Masters in Finance, Masters in Management, Executive Education Open and Customised programmes, Executive MBA, and the European Business Schools Ranking.
  • For open programmes, schools submit one or two general management courses of at least three days, and one or two advanced management courses of at least five days.
  • For custom courses, each school must have a minimum of 15 clients, of which at least five must complete evaluations.
