కన్నడ కథానాయకుడు రక్షిత్ శెట్టి ‘అతడే శ్రీమన్నారాయణ’ మూవీతో తెలుగు వారి ముందుకు వచ్చాడు. అయితే ఆ సినిమా ఆశించిన స్థాయిలో ఆడలేదు. ఇప్పుడు ‘777 చార్లీ’తో రక్షిత్ శెట్టి మరోసారి తన అదృష్టాన్ని పరీక్షించుకుంటున్నాడు. విశేషం ఏమంటే.. ఈ సినిమాకు రానా సమర్పకుడిగా వ్యవహరిస్తున్నాడు.

కథగా చెప్పుకోవాలంటే చాలా సింపుల్. ధర్మ (రక్షిత్ శెట్టి) చిన్నప్పుడే యాక్సిటెండ్ లో తల్లిదండ్రులను, చెల్లిని కోల్పోతాడు. దాంతో ఒంటరి బ్రతుకు అతనికి అలవాటైపోతుంది. నా అనేవాళ్లు లేకపోవడంతో కాస్తంత మొరటుగానే ప్రవర్తిస్తుంటాడు. అయితే తన వరకూ తనదే కరెక్ట్ అనుకుంటాడు. కానీ ఎదుటి వాళ్ళకు అతను త‌ప్పుగా క‌నిపిస్తుంటాడు. ఇల్లు, ఫ్యాక్ట‌రీ, గొడ‌వ‌, ఇడ్లీ, సిగ‌రెట్‌, బీర్.. ఇదే అతని ప్ర‌పంచం. అలాంటి వ్యక్తి ఇంటిలోకి ఓ కుక్కపిల్ల ప్రవేశిస్తుంది. ఆ తర్వాత అతని జీవితం ఎలా మారిపోయిందన్నదే ‘777 చార్లీ’ కథ.

ఈ ప్రపంచంలో విశ్వాసంగా ఉండే జంతువు ఏదైనా ఉందంటే అది కుక్కే అని చాలామంది చెబుతుంటారు. రక్తం పంచుకుని పుట్టినవాళ్ళు కూడా ఓ దశలో వదిలి వెళ్ళిపోతారేమో కానీ పిడికెడు అన్నం పెట్టినందుకు కుక్క విశ్వాసంతో కడవరకూ కాచుకుని ఉంటుందని అంటారు. అలాంటి పెంపుడు కుక్కల మీద గతంలో చాలానే చిత్రాలు వచ్చాయి. తన యజమాని చావుకు కారణమైన వ్యక్తుల మీద పగ తీర్చుకున్న కుక్కల సినిమాలూ బోలెడన్ని ఉన్నాయి. తెలుగులో ఆ మధ్య రాజేంద్ర ప్రసాద్ హీరోగా హరి రామజోగయ్య ‘టామీ’ అనే సినిమా తీశారు. ఓ నెలన్నర క్రితం సూర్య, జ్యోతిక తమ సొంత బ్యానర్ పై అరుణ్‌ విజయ్ తో ‘ఓ మై డాగ్’ అనే మూవీ నిర్మించారు. ‘కుక్క విశ్వాసజీవి’ అనే స్థాయి దాటి, వాటి అనారోగ్యం కారణంగా యజమానులు ఎంత మనోవేదనకు గురి అవుతారో ఆ సినిమాలో చూపించారు. అందులో కుక్క పిల్లకు కంటి చూపు ఉండదు. ఇప్పుడీ ‘777 చార్లీ’లో కుక్కపిల్లకు క్యాన్సర్ సోకుతుంది. మొదట్లో ఆ కుక్క పట్ల విముఖత చూపిన ధర్మ.. ఆ తర్వాత అదే ప్రాణంగా బతుకుతాడు. మంచుపర్వతాలంటే చార్లీకి ఇష్టమని తెలిసి, దానిని తీసుకుని హిమాలయాలకు ప్రయాణమౌతాడు. అది చనిపోయే లోపు అక్కడకు తీసుకెళ్ళాలన్నది అతడి కోరిక. ఓ రకంగా ఇది పెంపుడు కుక్కతో హీరో చేసిన రోడ్ జర్నీ మూవీ అని చెప్పాలి. ఆ ప్రయాణంలో ధర్మాకు ఎదురైన తీపి, చేదు అనుభవాలను దర్శకుడు కె. కిరణ్ రాజ్ ఆసక్తికరంగా తెరకెక్కించాడు.

రక్షిత్ శెట్టి గత చిత్రం ‘అతడే శ్రీమన్నారాయణ’ తరహాలో ఇది కూడా వివిధ భాషల్లో పాన్ ఇండియా మూవీగా రిలీజైంది. జీవితంలో తగిలిన ఊహించని ఎదురుదెబ్బలకు రాటుతేలిన వ్యక్తిగా రక్షిత్ బాగానే నటించాడు. డాగ్ ప్రొటక్షన్ ఫోర్స్ ఆఫీసర్ గా సంగీత శ్రింగేరి నటించింది. సెకండ్ హాఫ్ లోని రోడ్ జర్నీలో ఆమె కూడా పాలుపంచుకోవడంతో మూవీ కాస్తంత కలర్ ఫుల్ గా మారింది. అలానే నేషనల్ అవార్డ్ విన్నర్ బాబీ సింహా గెస్ట్ అప్పీయరెన్స్ ఇవ్వడం ఆసక్తిని కలిగించింది.

పెంపుడు కుక్కలు, అవి యజమానుల పట్ల చూపించే విశ్వాసం, అప్పుడప్పుడు వారి ప్రాణాలను సైతం కాపాడటం వంటి సన్నివేశాలను మనం గతంలోనే కొన్ని సినిమాలలో చూసి ఉండటం వల్ల అది కొత్తగా అనిపించదు. కానీ ఓ కుక్క కోసం సెంటిమెంటే లేని వ్యక్తి హిమాలయాల వరకూ వెళ్ళడం, దాని ప్రాణాలను ఎలాగైనా కాపాడాలని తపన పడటం కాస్తంత కదిలిస్తుంది. అరవింద్ కశ్యప్ సినిమాటోగ్రఫీ, నోబిన్ పాల్ రీరికార్డింగ్ బాగున్నాయి. అలానే రోడ్ ట్రిప్ సమయంలో వివిధ భాషలకు సంబంధించిన గీతాలను పెట్టడం ఆసక్తికరంగా ఉంది. బట్ డాగ్ లవర్స్ కనెక్ట్ అయినట్టుగా ఈ సినిమాకు మిగిలిన వారు కనెక్ట్ కావడం కాస్తంత కష్టమే!

777 Charlie Movie Review: Rakshit Shetty’s Emotional Roller Coaster Is A Story Of Love And Redemption

Every now and then we need a story which will make us believe in love and redemption. A new story, that will assuage our anxieties and alienation, that have become commonplace in a world fraught with unreasonable emphasis on social and material success, and tremendous suspicion and distrust of the other. I am glad to report that the latest movie from the Paramvah Studios – 777 Charlie – written and directed by the debutant Kiranraj K, with Rakshit Shetty and Charlie the dog in the lead, is one such story. It is also the first Kannada movie with a dog in the lead.

Dharma ( Rakshit Shetty ) works in a vehicle manufacturing factory and, scarred by a personal loss in childhood, leads a lonely life in Mysuru. He has built walls around him and is determined to go through the motions of life with a set routine involving his job, two idlis, alcohol, and cigarettes. But this lifeless existence of Dharma is disturbed by Charlie – a Labrador puppy who has escaped the clutches of an ill-treating breeder (A hark back to the 1992 film Beethoven ) and is trying to make a living on the streets. A freak accident to Charlie forces Dharma to take her in and a series of events unfold, including Dharma's failed attempts to give away Charlie in adoption, culminating in him realizing Charlie's unconditional love for him. Charlie's love begins to breathe life into Dharma. Soon, they become an inseparable duo. This short-lived bonhomie hits a new hurdle as Charlie is diagnosed with the fatal Hemangiosarcoma. Realizing that Charlie is short on time, Dharma sets off on a motorcycle journey, with Charlie in tow, across the country to fulfill Charlie's wish of playing with snow. What emerges from this, is an emotional roller coaster ride which is bound to make the audience laugh a little and cry a lot. While there is no doubt that the audience will happily embark on this emotional ride with Dharma and Charlie, some of them might feel this journey is a little too long. 

The first half of the movie focuses on building the bond between the two and uses the time-tested tropes of a comical veterinarian with a thick Mangalorean accent ( Raj B Shetty ), Charlie turning Dharma's life upside down with his naughty adventures, and a cute little neighborhood girl who is in love with the dog, to create entertaining sequences. The mise-en-scene of Dharma's home has several references to Charlie Chaplin's work – at one point " A Dog's Life " is playing on TV and the climax speech of " The Great Dictator " can be heard at another – and other dog films like " 101 Dalmatians ". Although well written and performed, my experience of the first half was marred by unnecessary attempts – marked by action sequences like editing and sound design – to create sophistication. In contrast, in the road movie like the second half, the technical aspects fall into place but the narrative is adversely affected by the unnecessarily long digressions such as the Devika-Dharma encounter which came across as a half-baked attempt to create a romantic track. The characters of Devika (Sangeetha Sringeri) and Vamsi (Bobby Simha) left much to be desired for. 

Halfway through, the second half abruptly attempts to transcend into the spiritual with temples, monasteries, and references to Dharmaraya. In line with this, the climax is set in a small temple dotting the otherwise barren snow-filled landscape and is intended to be the completion of Dharma's journey of redemption. 

Rakshit Shetty is brilliant as the rugged and lifeless Dharma in the first half but falls a little short in the emotional sequences – especially the climax scene in the snowy mountains. Raj B Shetty is hilarious – albeit stereotypical – as the Vet. (A special shout-out to his cool shirts featuring dogs). But undoubtedly, the hero of the movie is Charlie; it is impossible to turn away from the screen whenever the camera is on her. 

In a welcome departure, the soundtrack of 777 Charlie is multilingual (a hat tip to Nobin Paul) with English, Hindi, and Konkani (Goan folk) songs in addition to Kannada, with artists across India contributing. Also, it is a relief to listen to characters like Bobby Simha, the army officers, and other people Dharma and Charlie meet in their journey, talk in their natural languages. Of course, it does not miss me that the multiple language release of the movie has something to do with these choices. 

Now to the most important part – In a rare occurrence in Indian cinema, 777 Charlie is conscious of the issues with pets in India and gets the politics mostly right. The narrative choice of Charlie's disease points to the rampant practice of inbreeding amongst breeders in India; the issue of gated communities and housing colonies prohibiting pets is used to create conflict between Dharma and other residents, and in a fleeting scene where the mother asks her child not to touch Charlie after noticing lesions on his body foregrounds our bias against pets suffering from an illness. But ironically, for a movie which ends with a message flashing across the screen asking people to adopt dogs, Dharma is shown with a just-born puppy – presumably Charlie's (?) – in the climax. Many animal welfare personnel will cringe at the dog show sequence as it is well known that unreasonable enthusiasm for dog shows can adversely impact the lives of our pets. Also, how about featuring some Indian streeties in an Indian movie about dogs, please? 

777 Charlie – the first Kannada movie with a dog in the lead – is a feel-good entertainer which will appeal to each and everyone. Important advice to all dog lovers though – do not forget to carry sufficient tissues and handkerchiefs.

'777 Charlie', presented in Telugu by Suresh Productions, is a Kannada-language original. It was released in theatres in multiple languages this Friday.

An orphan named Dharma (Rakshit Shetty) is still stuck in the past, as his tragic childhood keeps haunting him in the form of ever-present nightmares. Back when he was a child, his mother, father and sister were killed in a fatal car-flip accident, leaving him a shattered child.

As an adult, Dharma is living a disciplined work life and a reckless personal life, complete with boozing and smoking. With no girlfriend and zero intentions to get married, he is content to be a loner. But the entry of a Labrador pup named Charlie results in a roller-coaster ride of emotions. How do the two share love for each other and what prompts Dharma to take his pet on a tour (and the consequences thereof), is what the film is about.

Performances

Rakshit Shetty 's performance is effortless. He manages to not bore us despite the camera being fixated on him and his surroundings for the most part of the film. Very few Kannada actors have historically made any impact on the audiences of other languages. Shetty has the potential to impress the audience by doing a straight Telugu film, if it can happen in the future.

Sangeetha Sringeri plays someone who can be loosely called the female lead. She gets overshadowed by Bobby Simha in the second half.

Technical aspects

The tracks that play in the background define the musical style of '777 Charlie'. At times Nobin Paul's BGM does get boring, but most of the time, it aids the stylized editing and dexterous cinematography. Arvind S Kashyap's camera work is in full form.

Director Kiranraj and the story department write an elaborate screenplay that stays away from typical ingredients in the first half. The trailer gave the impression that the story trajectory would be pedestrian. But the first half unfolds in a slightly innovative fashion.

The narrative worth of this film becomes all the more clear if you compare it with the recent OTT release 'Oh My Dog'. The film was unapologetically formulaic, where the villain was a cardboard character, the shots involving the dog were basic, the scenes around the pet were conceived in a bland fashion, so on and so forth. Everything looked sudden and hurried in that film.

In comparison, '777 Charlie' is a sincere and creative film that exactly knows how to make it all about the Labrador pet Charlie and its doting owner, Dharma.

The film manages to stay away from the adventure-road film template for a good part. But once it enters the predictable territory, things go on a downward spiral.

Closing Remarks

'777 Charlie' is a watchable film. At about 2 hours and 40 minutes, its narration is unhurried and the detailing is adequate. But some familiar elements in the second half can bore you.

కన్నడ ఇండస్ట్రీలోని మోస్ట్ ప్రామిసింగ్ హీరోల్లో ఒకరైన రక్షిత్ శెట్టి కథానాయకుడిగా తెరకెక్కిన తాజా చిత్రం “777 చార్లీ”. ఓ లాబ్రడార్ డాగ్ టైటిల్ పాత్ర పోషించిన ఈ చిత్రం ట్రైలర్ తోనే విశేషమైన అంచనాలను క్రియేట్ చేసింది. ముఖ్యంగా జంతు ప్రేమికులు ఈ చిత్రం కోసం ఎప్పట్నుంచో వెయిట్ చేస్తున్నారు. మరి సినిమా ఆకట్టుకుంటుందో లేదో చూద్దాం..!!

కథ: చిన్నప్పుడే తల్లిదండ్రులు మరియు తోబుట్టువుని ఓ యాక్సిడెంట్లో కోల్పోయి.. ఒంటరిగా పెరుగుతాడు ధర్మ (రక్షిత్ శెట్టి). ఇల్లు, ఫ్యాక్టరీ తప్ప ఏమీ తెలియకుండా బ్రతికేస్తుంటాడు. అలా ఒంటరిగా జీవితాన్ని సాగిస్తున్న ధర్మ జీవితంలోకి సడన్ ఎంట్రీ ఇస్తుంది చార్లీ (లాబ్రడార్ డాగ్). చార్లీ ఎంట్రీతో ధర్మ జీవితంలో ఎలాంటి మార్పులు వచ్చాయి? ధర్మ-చార్లీ కలిసి చేసిన ప్రయాణం ఏ తీరానికి చేరింది? అనేది “777 చార్లీ” కథాంశం.

నటీనటుల పనితీరు: సినిమా మొత్తాన్ని తన భుజస్కంధాలపై మోశాడు రక్షిత్ శెట్టి. అతను మంచి నటుడు అనే విషయం ప్రత్యేకంగా చెప్పాల్సిన అవసరం లేదు. అయితే.. ఈ చిత్రంలో తన ఎమోషన్స్ ను ఒక డాగ్ తో కలిసి పండించడం అనేది మామూలు విషయం కాదు. ఎందుకంటే.. ఎంత ట్రైనింగ్ ఇచ్చిన డాగ్ అయినా.. కెమెరా ముందు చెప్పినట్లు వినదు.

సో, దర్శక బృందంతోపాటు, సదరు శునకంతో కుస్తీ పడుతూ నటించిన రక్షిత్ శెట్టి ఓపికను కూడా ప్రశంసించాల్సిందే. పాత్ర చిన్నదే అయినప్పటికీ.. హీరోయిన్ సంగీత ఆకట్టుకుంది. రాజ్ బి శెట్టి డాగ్ డాక్టర్ గా తన కామెడీ టైమింగ్ తో అలరించాడు.

సాంకేతికవర్గం పనితీరు: దర్శకుడు కిరణ్ రాజ్ దర్శకత్వ ప్రతిభ కంటే.. అతడి సహనాన్ని-ఓపికను ముందుగా మెచ్చుకోవాలి. చార్లీ అనే డాగ్ తో అత్యద్భుతమైన ప్రదర్శన చేయించడమే కాక.. ప్రేక్షకుల్ని ఆమె ఎమోషన్స్ లో లీనం చేశాడు. కథకుడిగా కాస్త తడబడినా.. దర్శకుడిగా మాత్రం ఘన విజయం అందుకున్నాడు కిరణ్ రాజ్.

సంగీత దర్శకుడు నోబిన్ నేపధ్య సంగీతంతో పర్వాలేదనిపించుకున్నాడు. అయితే.. సన్నివేశంలోని డెప్త్ ను ఎలివేట్ చేయడంలో విఫలమయ్యాడు. అరవింద్ కశ్యప్ సినిమాటోగ్రఫీ సినిమాకి మరో ప్లస్ పాయింట్. డాగ్ కళ్లను భలే హృద్యంగా క్యాప్చ్యూర్ చేశాడు. ప్రొడక్షన్ వర్క్ & ఆర్ట్ వర్క్ బాగుంది కానీ.. సీజీ వర్క్ విషయంలో ఇంకాస్త జాగ్రత్త తీసుకోవాల్సింది. ఎంతో హృద్యమైన సన్నివేశం యావరేజ్ సీజీ వర్క్ వల్ల తేలిపోయింది.

విశ్లేషణ: కేవలం జంతు ప్రేమికులను మాత్రమే కాదు.. సున్నిత మనస్కులైన ప్రతి ఒక్కర్నీ విశేషంగా ఆకట్టుకునే చిత్రం “777 చార్లీ”. పెట్ ఓనర్స్ & లవర్స్ ను మాత్రం ఏడిపించేస్తుందీ “చార్లీ”. చిన్నపాటి తప్పిదాలున్నప్పటికీ.. చార్లీ కళ్ళల్లో కనిపించే అమాయకత్వం, కరుణ ముందు అవి కనిపించవు.

777 Charlie Telugu Movie Review : Rakshit Shetty is one of the most underestimated artists in Kannada because he always tries out new material, even if it doesn’t work. His previous film, Athade Srimannarayana, was an unsuccessful experiment, but he returns with 777 Charlie, an intriguing new film. The trailer for this film has piqued the interest of not only spectators but even celebrities who have tweeted about it.

Dharma (Rakshit Shetty) is a solitary man with no sense of purpose in life; he eats and sleeps, in the same manner, every day and suffers from anxiety. Dharma’s life changed drastically, however, when a dog named Charlie entered it; at first, he was angry with Charlie, but he later fell in love with him, and Charlie taught Dharma a new outlook on life. Dharma and Charlie, on the other hand, decided one day to go to various locations and explore life. During this period, Dharma realized the importance of life and relationships because he could not survive without Charlie. The remainder of the narrative focuses on the duration of the relationship between Dharma and Charlie.

The film 777 Charlie is directed by Kiranraj K and stars Rakshit Shetty, Sangeetha Sringeri, Raj B Shetty, Danish Sait, and Bobby Simha. Arvind S. Kashyap supervised the cinematography. The film was produced by G S Gupta and Rakshit Shetty, and Nobin Paul composed the score.

Movie Verdict

To create a blockbuster film, the film must captivate the audience; human emotion is the most important part of the film, as we have seen in several films; nevertheless, 777 is different. We recently saw Rajendra Prasad’s film Rajendrudu Gajendrudu, and now we’re watching 777 Charlie, even if it’s dubbed in Telugu. However, the film opens well with Hero’s introduction and the explanation for why he lives alone, all within the first 10 minutes, so that the audience is prepared to embark on the journey with Hero, but the pace of the film slows following Hero. There are multiple emotionally intense sections, and they all land effectively, keeping the audience engaged until the conclusion. The film was designed with Indian sensibilities in mind, which turned out quite well. Rakshit Shetty as Dharma is simply outstanding as both a carefree and lonely guy and a responsible and mature individual, effortlessly balancing the two shades of character, particularly in an emotional scene with Charlie that melts your heart, and Bobby Simha as a guest star in the film engages you with his fine performance, as does the rest of the cast. Bringing or communicating emotion with animals, on the other hand, is difficult, so compliments to the director and Charlie’s trainer, as there are numerous emotional moments in which Rakshit Shetty and Charlie must emote, and Charlie does so pretty successfully. From a technical standpoint, 777 Charlie looks incredible, from the imagery to the soundtrack. Photography by Arvind S. Kashyap is the film’s most important asset, while the background music by Nobin Paul, especially in emotional scenes, is outstanding. Finally, for animal lovers, 777 Charlie is a must-see film; it will make you laugh and cry.

777 Charlie: మనసులను కొల్లగొట్టడమే కాదు.. ఈ ‘ఛార్లీ’ది సవాళ్ల ప్రయాణం!

777 Charlie: జాతీయ చలన చిత్ర అవార్డుల్లో రక్షిత్‌ శెట్టి కథానాయకుడిగా వచ్చిన కన్నడ చిత్రం ‘777 ఛార్లీ’ ఉత్తమ కన్నడ చిత్రంగా అవార్డు దక్కించుకుంది.

ఇంటర్నెట్‌ డెస్క్‌: దక్షిణాదిలో కన్నడ చిత్రసీమకు ఒకప్పుడు పెద్దగా గుర్తింపు లేదన్నది వాస్తవం. కన్నడ నటులు అడపాదడపా పరిచయం ఉన్నా.. అక్కడి చిత్రాలకు దేశవ్యాప్త గుర్తింపు అయితే దక్కలేదు. అలాంటిది ‘కేజీయఫ్‌’తో పరిస్థితి మారిపోయింది. ఒక్కసారిగా దేశమంతా ఆ చిత్రసీమ వైపు చూసింది. ఆ సినిమా ద్వారా వచ్చిన గుర్తింపును ‘777 ఛార్లీ’ (777 Charlie) కొనసాగించింది. చిన్న చిత్రంగా వచ్చినా దేశవ్యాప్తంగా డాగ్‌ లవర్స్‌ను ఆకట్టుకుంది. జాతీయ చలన చిత్ర అవార్డుల్లో ఉత్తమ కన్నడ చిత్రంగా అవార్డు (Best kannada film) దక్కించుకుంది. తెలుగు చిత్రం కాకపోయినా ఇక్కడి ప్రేక్షకులకీ బాగా దగ్గరైన ఈ చిత్రం కోసం చిత్రబృందం పడిన కష్టమూ స్ఫూర్తిదాయకమే.

కథేంటంటే..: ఓ ప్రమాదంలో కుటుంబాన్ని కోల్పోయి చిన్నతనం నుంచి ఒంటరిగా జీవితం గడుపుతుంటాడు ధర్మ (రక్షిత్‌ శెట్టి). అలాంటి ధర్మ జీవితంలోకి ఓ రోజు ఛార్లి అనే శునకం ఎంట్రీ ఇస్తుంది. అనుకోని పరిస్థితుల్లో యజమాని ఇంటి నుంచి బయటకు వచ్చిన ఛార్లి ఎలాంటి ఇబ్బందులు పడింది? ధర్మ అనే వ్యక్తిని ఎలా కలుసుకుంది? వారి మధ్య అనుబంధం ఎలా సాగింది? చివరికి ఏమైంది? అన్న ఆసక్తికర కథాంశాలతో ఈ సినిమా రూపుదిద్దుకుంది. రానా సమర్పకుడిగా సురేశ్‌ ప్రొడెక్షన్స్‌ పతాకంపై తెలుగులో ఈ సినిమా విడుదలై మంచి టాక్‌ వచ్చింది.

‘కిరిక్‌ పార్టీ’, ‘అతడే శ్రీమన్నారాయణ’ వంటి చిత్రాలతో తెలుగు ప్రేక్షకులకు చేరువైన రక్షిత్‌శెట్టి.. ఈ చిత్రంతో తెలుగు ప్రేక్షకులకు మరింత దగ్గరయ్యాడు. సర్వం కోల్పోయి కోపిష్టిగా కనిపించే పాత్రలో రక్షిత్‌ శెట్టి చక్కగా నటించాడు. శునకం రాక ముందు... వచ్చాక తనలో వేరియేషన్స్‌ను చక్కగా పలికించాడు. ఈ చిత్రానికి మరో హీరో అంటే ఛార్లీనే. ఛార్లీ పాత్రలో తెరపై కనిపించేది ఒక శునకమే అయినా.. ఇందుకోసం మొత్తం లాబ్రడార్లను చిత్రబృందం వినియోగించింది. ఇందుకోసం వాటికి ప్రత్యేకంగా శిక్షణ ఇప్పించారు. కొన్ని సీన్ల కోసం పదుల సంఖ్యలో టేకులు తీసుకోవాల్సి వచ్చిందని చిత్ర రచయిత, దర్శకుడు కిరణ్ రాజ్‌ కె తెలిపారు.

అడ్డంకులు దాటుకుని

వాస్తవానికి ఈ చిత్రాన్ని 2017లోనే రక్షిత్‌ శెట్టి ప్రకటించారు. 2018లో షూటింగ్‌ ప్రారంభించారు. కొన్ని రోజుల షూటింగ్‌ తర్వాత మధ్యలో రక్షిత్‌ శెట్టి ‘అతడే ‘శ్రీమాన్నారాయణ’ షూటింగ్‌ కారణంగా వాయిదా పడింది. మళ్లీ 2020లో జనవరిలో ఉత్తర భారతంలో షూటింగ్‌ జరిపారు. కొన్ని రోజులకే కొవిడ్‌ కారణంగా చిత్రం నిలిచిపోయింది. 2020 నవంబర్‌లో మళ్లీ చిత్రం ప్రారంభించారు. 2021 జనవరిలో కశ్మీర్‌ షెడ్యూల్‌తో చిత్రం పూర్తయ్యింది. మొత్తం 164 రోజులు షూటింగ్‌ జరుపుకొంది. 

అలా 2022 జూన్‌ 10న దేశవ్యాప్తంగా విడుదలైన ఈ చిత్రం మంచి టాక్‌ తెచ్చుకుంది. తెలుగు, హిందీ, కన్నడ, మలయాళం, తమిళ భాషల్లో విడుదలైంది. ఐదు భాషల్లో 50 క్యారెక్టర్ల కోసం 200 మంది వాయిస్‌ ఆర్టిస్టులను ఈ చిత్రం కోసం వినియోగించారు. అందుకే చిత్రం ఎక్కడా డబ్బింగ్‌ చిత్రంగా అనిపించదు. అలా చిన్న సినిమాగా వచ్చిన ఈ చిత్రం ప్రేక్షకులను మనసుల కొల్లగొట్టింది. ఈ చిత్రం చూసి, అప్పటి కర్ణాటక సీఎం బసవరాజ్‌ బొమ్మై కంటతడి పెట్టుకున్నారు. అంతలా మనసులను హత్తుకుంది కాబట్టే.. రూ.100 కోట్లకు పైగా కలెక్షన్లు సాధించింది. వసూళ్ల పరంగా ఐదో కన్నడ చిత్రంగా నిలిచింది. ఇప్పుడు ఉత్తమ చిత్రంగానూ నిలిచింది.

777 Charlie Telugu Movie Review : Rakshit Shetty is one of the most underrated actors in Kannada as he always tries unique content and even if it’s didn’t do well he tries another one, his last outing Athade Srimannarayana was an experimented film but it didn’t fared well but without losing hope he comes up with another unique film called 777 Charlie, this film sets a lot of expectations as the trailer grabbed the attention not only audience that celebrities tweeted about the film, interestingly Rana Daggubati presenting the film Telugu, so the film has been doing well with a great talk from the audience as well as critics, without any delay lets delve into the in-depth review and let’s get know whether the film is worth watch or not.

Dharma(Rakshit Shetty) is a lonely man, who has no purpose to live as he eats idly and sleeps this is his routine and he has anxiety issues, but Dharma’s life drastically changed when a dog called Charlie entered his life, initially he irritates on Charlie but later he fell in love with Charlie and Charlie showed to Dharma a new perspective of life, However, twist arises ion the tale that Dharma gets to know that Charlie has cancer, one day Dharma and Charlie decided to explore the life as both starts traveling to different cities in the process Dharma knows the value of life and the importance of relationship as Dharma can’t live without Charlie, Finally, How long Dharma and Charlie relation go is the rest of the tale.

Movie Verdict

To make a blockbuster film the film should make the audience emotional, human emotion in the film is the major point, as we have seen many films that are made audience emotional, but 777 Charlie has human and Animal emotions, that we haven’t seen recently, long back we have seen Rajendra Prasad’s film called Rajendrudu Gajendrudu and now 777 Charlie though it is Telugu dubbed film, the fact emotion has no language, However, talking about the film starts off well with hero’s introduction and why he lives lonely everything showcased within 10 minutes so that audience is ready to start the journey with Hero, but the film gets slow after hero’s introduction as the films get interesting once the Charlie enters, from there to climax it roller coaster ride.

There are a lot of scenes that make you emotional and all the scenes land well it hooked the audience till the end while watching the film it resembles some Hollywood but the makers made it with Indian emotions and that worked out quite well.

Rakshit Shetty as Dharma is simply superb as a carefree and lonely guy and a responsible and mature person the 2 shades of characters he effortless;y pulled it off, especially in an emotional scene with Charlie melt your heart and Bobby Simha made guest role in the film though he has less screen space he engages you with his fine performance and rest of the cast did well.

We should appreciate the director Kiranraj K for the beautiful script and he brilliantly executed the film with a lot of conviction, However, to bring or convey emotion with animals it’s not at all easy, and kudos to the director and Charlie’s trainer, there are lot of emotional scenes that Rakshit Shetty and Charlie have to emote and Charlie emotes so well.

Technically 777 Charlie looks top-notch as it is cinematography or music, Arvind S Kashyap’s cinematography is the major asset of the film, and also Nobin Paul’s background music, especially in emotional scenes killed it.

Finally, 777 Charlie is a must-watch movie, pet lovers should definitely watch the film, 777 Charlie makes you laugh, and makes you emotional.

As announced earlier, actors Venkatesh, Sai Pallavi and Manchu Lakshmi have released the Telugu trailer of 777 Charlie today. Starring Rakshit Shetty and Charlie in prominent roles, the movie is written and directed by Kiranraj.

The trailer looks promising and hits emotionally. Rakshit Shetty is a guy who lacks interest in everything. One day, a dog arrives at his doorsteps. Rakshit tries to get rid of this but ends up a failure. Finally, he makes a good relationship with the dog. While everything is cool, something unexpected happens in their lives. What happens next to the dog and how Rakshit brings it back is the rest of the story we need to watch in the main movie.

Rana Daggubati is presenting this Kannada film in Telugu. Sangeetha Sringeri, Raj B Shetty, Danish Sait, Bobby Simha, and others played key roles in this movie. GS Gupta and Rakshit Shetty produced this adventure comedy movie, which has Nobin Paul’s music. The movie will hit screens on June 10, 2022.

‘777 Charlie’ movie review: A heartfelt take on a charming friendship

The film could well be described as the “relationship between a man and a dog” but director kiranraj ensures that he packs in emotion and light-heartedness in equal measure that we are engaged all the time.

Can a dog change your life?

The makers of recent film 777 Charlie certainly think so. And their latest work is a deeply heartfelt cinematic presentation of that fact.

Dharma (Rakshit Shetty) is a loner who feels that what he does is always correct. "How others view me isn't right," he says, in a voiceover early in the film. You can't find fault with the others; after all, he rarely bothers about the colony he lives in or his neighbours and is mostly grumpy and unkempt. His house is always in a mess, with cigarette butts and liquor bottles strewn around. At the factory he works in, he is one of the best workers — he doesn't take a single day of leave — and prefers to keep to himself, thus earning the ire of most of his colleagues.

Simply put, he's a loner without any friends, family or bonds.

Until a Labrador pup, which he later names Charlie due to his love for Charlie Chaplin, comes into his life. And then, life, for Dharma, becomes topsy turvy.

This is predominantly a man-animal relationship film, but it is also a travel film and a musical. When director Kiranraj isn't showing you pictureseque locales (cinematography by Arvind S Kashyap) during Dharma's life-changing road trip, he's making you invested in the story thanks also to its music (by Nobin Paul), with wonderful little songs peppered in the screenplay, like the occasional barks that Charlie lets out.

This writer watched the dubbed Tamil version of the film (which is a primarily a Kannada film, with many well-known faces from the Kannada film industry ), but the makers seem to have ensured that it feels very original. The sign boards are all from Chennai — the colony the protagonist lives in is in Ambattur — and the actors do a commendable job with the lip sync.

Languages aren’t a barrier in this film, as the subject is all heart. In a line, the film could well be described as the “relationship between a man and a dog” but director Kiranraj ensures that he packs in emotion and light-heartedness in equal measure that we are engaged all the time. English film The Dog Problem (2006) tried something on similar lines, but 777 Charlie scores much higher on the emotional quotient.

If the first half focusses on the build-up to the relationship, the second half has several heartfelt moments that hit you hard. There's a wonderfully written and conceived sequence here set in the backdrop of a dog show that's the equivalent of a last ball six in a cricket match - director Kiranraj scores high, tugging at the heartstrings.

That he has an apt cast bringing to life his idea is a big bonus. Rakshit Shetty is perfect as the protagonist and gets in all the right expressions, be it when he's frustrated due to an intrusion in life, and later, when his outlook towards life changes. Charlie, the subject the film revolves around, is a delight to watch on the big screen. A small girl named Adrika (played by Sharvari) gets a neatly-written role. Even the characters that get lesser screen time — be it Raj B Shetty as the vet, Sangeetha Sringeri as a champion of animal rights, Bobby Simha as a dog-lover and Danish Sait as a reporter — make an impact on the on-screen proceedings.

The only grouse was the tad long runtime (packed with far too many songs) and the film's humour, which thankfully isn't a lot. For a cinematic work that celebrates animals, placing "dog jokes" (Sample: a mother tells her daughter: "unakku nai venuma? Veetuku va, appa irukanga) sticks out. Barring that, there's a lot to love about this film.
