A 1000 word essay consists of an introduction, body paragraphs , and a conclusion, just like all other essays. However, the only difference is the word count distribution across the essay.

When writing a 1000-word essay, the introduction should be about 100-150 words, the main body should be about 700 words, and the conclusion should be about 100-150 words.

Here is the essay structure to help you divide your word count appropriately across the 1000 words.

How to Write a 1000 Word Essay?

Now that you know how this essay is structured, let’s move on to how to write it. Here are some steps that you can follow to compose an excellent essay.

  • Choose an Engaging Topic

Choosing an interesting essay topic is necessary to keep the readers engaged. For t essay, make sure you choose a topic that you can cover within your word count.

  • Start the Research

Doing research is one of the most important parts of writing an essay. It ensures that you have all the information to create a strong composition. You should always make sure your sources are credible so no misleading info gets into your work.

  • Develop the Outline

An outline is the main element of essay writing that can save time, make things easier, and earn a better grade. It will also help your essays be logically structured and easy for others to read. Without a proper essay outline , you might forget the main points you should add to your essay.

  • Create a Compelling Introduction

An essay introduction is one of the most important components of a paper or essay. This part should be 100-150 words.

Start an essay with a catchy hook and then provide background information about your topic. Finally, end the introduction with a strong thesis statement , indicating its main argument.

  • Write Effective Body Paragraphs

The body section should be 600-800 words long, and each section must be 200-300.

Begin each paragraph with a topic sentence that indicates the main point. Afterward, present your arguments and support them with evidence. Also, conclude each paragraph with a transition to maintain a logical flow.

  • Write a Strong Conclusion

The conclusion is the final part of your essay, where you offer some final thoughts and tie together the key points. An essay conclusion recaps all the main points and restates the thesis statement in an authoritative way.

  • Proofread and Revise the Draft

Once you finish writing your first draft, proofread it for any mistakes and potential improvements. Edit, revise, and polish your essay until it becomes the best version of itself.

1 million words — ready to copy and paste (Lorem Ipsum)

What does 1 million words look like.

Here is a 1 million words file using only Lorem Ipsum text :

It is always very hard to conceive very large numbers . Big amounts of time or space are subjective concepts. We don’t use rationality to get around their quantities, instead, we use feeling. We can feel how very tall a building is or how very large a lake can be.

A large quantity of words might be even tougher to surround in one’s mind. Let’s get beside those abstract ideas and let’s try to answer the following question : What does 1 million words really look like?

As a kid I’ve always asked myself how long it would take me to read 1 million words? How thick a book should be to gather all these characters into one single object. In this article I will try answering those childhood questions.

We will be using a Lorem Ipsum base text. Lorem Ipsum is a very famous latin piece of text used by designers as a placeholder text to fill design mockups. If you want to learn more about the origins of Lorem Ipsum you should dig into De finibus bonorum et malorum of Cicero .

Statistics generated by 1’000’000 words text.

The total version of the Lorem Ipsum text is 1’374 words long. In order to get to a million words it needs to be duplicated 727,80 times . Also for the experiment we will be using Arial, a font-size of 12 pts, and A4 sheets of paper. Here are the results :

Approximately 6’830’395 characters (with spaces) or 5’830’394 characters (no spaces)

Approximately 80’786 lines, on A4 paper using Arial 12.

Approximately 1’796 A4 pages or 1’120’165 cm2 of printed area using Arial 12.

Using Gutemberg’s Spine Width Calculator our 1’796 pages long book would have a spine width of 73 mm with a soft cover.

The five-paragraph essay is a popular choice for teachers as it teaches students how to structure their thoughts and arguments clearly and organizedly.

In addition to these formats, a 1000-word essay can be critical writing, movie analysis, or book review. These types of essays require students to critically analyze a piece of literature, film, or any other form of media. They must thoroughly evaluate the work, discussing its strengths, weaknesses, and overall impact. Testing and manageable topics within the given word count. It is advisable When choosing a topic for a 1000-word essay, the possibilities are endless. However, it is essential to select an interior and choose a topic you are passionate about or have some prior knowledge of, as this will make the writing process more enjoyable and engaging. Additionally, preliminary research on the chosen topic will help you gather relevant information and develop a strong thesis statement.

To guide you through the process of writing a 1000-word essay, here are some helpful tips:

1. Plan your essay: Create an outline or a mind map to organize your thoughts and ideas before writing. This will help you maintain a logical flow throughout your essay and ensure that you cover all the necessary points.

2. Develop a strong thesis statement: Your thesis statement should clearly state your essay’s main argument or point. It should be concise, specific, and arguable. This will serve as the foundation for your essay and guide your writing.

3. Conduct thorough research: Gather relevant information from credible sources such as books, scholarly articles, and reputable websites. Take notes and make sure to properly cite your sources to avoid plagiarism.

4. Structure your essay: Divide your essay into an introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. The introduction should provide background information and present your thesis statement. Each body paragraph should focus on a specific point or argument supported by evidence and analysis. The conclusion should summarize your main points and concisely restate your thesis.

5. Edit and proofread: After completing your essay, take the time to edit and proofread it for any grammatical, spelling, or punctuation errors. Ensure your ideas are clear and well-organized and your writing flows smoothly.

  • Start with a Strong Hook. Engage your readers from the very beginning with a captivating hook. This could be a thought-provoking question, a surprising fact, or a vivid scene. For example, a personal narrative example might begin with a dramatic moment that immediately places the reader in the heart of the story.
  • Focus on a Significant Moment. A personal narrative should center around a significant moment or series of events that had a profound impact on you. Personal narrative essay examples often highlight a turning point that offers insight into the writer’s growth or change.

A personal narrative essay example might describe the aroma of a grandmother’s kitchen or the texture of a rough sea to immerse the reader fully.
  • Explore Your Emotions and Reflections. The heart of a personal narrative lies in your introspection and emotional journey. Discuss how the events affected you, what you learned, and how you changed. Personal narrative essay examples excel when they delve deep into the writer’s emotional landscape, offering honest and relatable reflections.
  • Use Dialogue Effectively . Incorporating dialogue can add dynamism to your narrative, bringing characters to life and moving the story forward. Ensure that the dialogue sounds natural and contributes to the development of the story or the understanding of the characters. A well-chosen dialogue in a personal narrative example can illustrate a relationship or a pivotal moment vividly.
  • Structure Your Narrative with Care. While a personal narrative may not follow a traditional plot structure, having a clear beginning, middle, and end is crucial. Lead your readers through the events with a purposeful narrative arc, guiding them toward the resolution or the main point of your story. Personal narrative examples show how an effectively structured narrative can enhance the impact of the story.
  • Revise and Edit. A great personal narrative doesn’t just happen on the first draft. Revise your work for clarity, coherence, and conciseness. Pay attention to grammar and punctuation, and consider feedback from readers to refine your narrative. Personal narrative essay examples that resonate the most are often those that have been carefully polished.

It is better to choose subjects that don’t involve your emotions. Otherwise, there is a chance that you will go off-topic. Choose a topic that you will enjoy writing and conducting research on.

Developing an outline for your essay will help create sentences and pave a map for your essay. An outline is actually an essay structure. You can mention all the important information that you found in points under subheadings.

Divide your 1000 word essay into the following main parts:

The introductory paragraph provides the audience with background information on the topic. It also contains a hook statement that grabs the audience’s attention so they read the whole blog.

The body paragraphs include information that has been broken down into points and is supported by reasonings and claims. You can mention why covering this topic is necessary and highlight your key findings along the way.

The concluding paragraph is where you reiterate the points that are important and support your main thesis statement. Make sure that you don’t copy-paste sentences here, but remind the readers what the main idea was.

When working on your essay, make sure that all of the ideas that you incorporate in your essay are written in your own words. You can be creative but don’t use someone else’s work. Use your own creativity, while writing paragraphs.

It is almost similar to a  500 word essay , except for the word limit and the number of paragraphs. The structure of the essay is the same. Writing original content will polish your writing style and inspire you to write more on the subject.

After you are done with your outline and have a strong topic to work on, start writing your essay. Use the points written in the outline to compose your essay.

While you are writing your essay and making paragraphs, make sure that there is a natural flow between the paragraphs. Usually, linking words are used to make coherent paragraphs when writing essays.

After you have written your essay, give yourself some rest before you start proofreading it. Once you have taken some rest, proofread your essay with a fresh mind.

What if I Can't Come up With 1000 words?

The best tip that will shed light in the dark is writing in a non-stop regime. Just start writing without thinking about any word limit. Of course, it seems much more time-consuming and complicated. Nevertheless, this technique will let you understand and determine any gaps in your writing and then fix them in the shorter version of your draft.

Don’t panic if it ends up more than 2000+ words or more. Once you are done with the writing, read it several times, and highlight parts that you believe are worth attention. Then exclude all parts of the text that you think are unnecessary. Next step will be combining, polishing up and connecting them together. Include transitions between paragraphs to make sure that everything flows smoothly.

Useful Tips for Editing and Productivity

How to Write a 1000 Word Essay

The most important parts of writing an essay are organizing and editing. Writing is barely half of the work. We want to share some pro tips to save time writing and make your essay genuinely outstanding.

  • Write an Outline first: Most of the time, a 1000-word essay is an in-class assignment. Scribble an outline on a separate sheet of paper to keep you focused when writing. Essay outlines aren’t made for your professor, and they’re made for you. Without an outline, you cannot see the logical structure of your essay and the progression of your arguments.
  • Write an Introduction last: Starting an essay can be frustratingly hard, and most writers know this. A general rule of thumb is to write the introduction last. An essay introduction sets the tone and introduces the writer’s main arguments. After writing the whole chunk of your paper, you’ll know all your main points and the tone of your writing. Therefore it is best to leave it for last.
  • Proofread Twice before submitting: If your 1000-word essay is an in-class assignment, proofread it. Grammar and logic errors won’t be tolerated by your tutor, besides it will only take a minute. Rewriting the whole paper in class is impossible. Therefore proofreading is the only quality-check you get. If your essay is not an in-class assignment, you have many more opportunities to make it good by proofreading.
  • Use Apps for Proofreading: If your 1000-word essay is a homework assignment, proofread it with apps like Hemingway or Grammarly. They will find errors which you may have easily missed. Additionally, if you wish to upgrade your word choice, use sites like Dictionary.com and Thesaurus for synonyms and words with similar meaning.

Title: Water – The Essence of Life

Introduction :

Water is the elixir of life, a precious resource that is vital for the existence of all living organisms on Earth. Covering about 70% of the planet’s surface, water is found in oceans, rivers, lakes, and underground reservoirs. It plays a fundamental role in sustaining ecosystems, supporting agriculture, meeting human needs, and shaping the landscape. This essay explores the significance of water, its diverse uses, the challenges it faces, and the importance of responsible water management for the well-being of our planet and future generations.

Importance of Water

Water is essential for the survival and well-being of all living organisms. It serves as a universal solvent, enabling chemical reactions that are crucial for life processes. Water is involved in cellular functions, temperature regulation, nutrient transportation, and waste removal in living systems. In addition to its biological importance, water also plays a critical role in maintaining ecological balance. It provides habitats for countless species, supports biodiversity, and influences the functioning of ecosystems.

Water for Agriculture

Agriculture is heavily dependent on water for crop cultivation and livestock sustenance. Irrigation systems deliver water to fields, ensuring the growth and productivity of crops. Water is essential for germination, photosynthesis, and the transport of nutrients within plants. Livestock farming relies on water for drinking, cleaning, and maintaining proper hygiene conditions. Adequate water supplies are essential for the health and well-being of both plants and animals in agriculture.

Water for Human Needs

Water plays a vital role in meeting various human needs. Access to clean and safe drinking water is crucial for maintaining human health and preventing waterborne diseases. Water is used for cooking, food preparation, and sanitation, ensuring proper nutrition and hygiene. Adequate sanitation facilities, including toilets and wastewater treatment systems, rely on water to prevent the spread of diseases and maintain public health. Moreover, water is used in industries for manufacturing processes, cooling systems, and energy production.

Challenges of Water Scarcity

Water scarcity is a pressing global challenge, particularly in regions facing population growth, urbanization, and climate change. Unequal distribution, overexploitation of water resources, and inefficient water management contribute to the scarcity of water. This scarcity can lead to social, economic, and environmental consequences. Reduced water availability hampers agricultural productivity, jeopardizes livelihoods, and triggers conflicts over water rights. Addressing water scarcity requires sustainable water management practices, water conservation efforts, and investments in water infrastructure.

Water Pollution and Conservation

Water pollution poses a significant threat to water resources and ecosystems. Industrial discharge, agricultural runoff, improper waste disposal, and the use of chemicals contaminate water bodies, compromising water quality. This pollution has detrimental effects on aquatic life, threatens biodiversity, and poses health risks to humans. Waterborne diseases, such as cholera and dysentery, are direct consequences of water pollution. To combat water pollution, stringent regulations must be implemented to control industrial and agricultural activities that contribute to pollution. Proper wastewater treatment systems and waste management practices are essential to preserve water quality.

Water conservation plays a pivotal role in ensuring sustainable water use. Rainwater harvesting, efficient irrigation techniques, and public awareness campaigns promote responsible water consumption. Governments, communities, and individuals must work together to reduce water wastage, encourage water reuse, and protect water sources from pollution.

Conclusion :

Water is a precious and finite resource that is vital for all forms of life on Earth. Its significance extends beyond meeting basic needs and supporting ecosystems; water plays a critical role in shaping our planet. The challenges of water scarcity and pollution necessitate collective action and responsible water management practices. By valuing water, promoting conservation efforts, and raising awareness about responsible water use, we can ensure the availability and quality of water for future generations. It is our collective responsibility to protect and preserve this invaluable resource, safeguarding the well-being of our planet and all its inhabitants.

Other interesting articles, frequently asked questions about writing an essay, an appeal to the senses: the development of the braille system in nineteenth-century france.

The invention of Braille was a major turning point in the history of disability. The writing system of raised dots used by visually impaired people was developed by Louis Braille in nineteenth-century France. In a society that did not value disabled people in general, blindness was particularly stigmatized, and lack of access to reading and writing was a significant barrier to social participation. The idea of tactile reading was not entirely new, but existing methods based on sighted systems were difficult to learn and use. As the first writing system designed for blind people’s needs, Braille was a groundbreaking new accessibility tool. It not only provided practical benefits, but also helped change the cultural status of blindness. This essay begins by discussing the situation of blind people in nineteenth-century Europe. It then describes the invention of Braille and the gradual process of its acceptance within blind education. Subsequently, it explores the wide-ranging effects of this invention on blind people’s social and cultural lives.

Lack of access to reading and writing put blind people at a serious disadvantage in nineteenth-century society. Text was one of the primary methods through which people engaged with culture, communicated with others, and accessed information; without a well-developed reading system that did not rely on sight, blind people were excluded from social participation (Weygand, 2009). While disabled people in general suffered from discrimination, blindness was widely viewed as the worst disability, and it was commonly believed that blind people were incapable of pursuing a profession or improving themselves through culture (Weygand, 2009). This demonstrates the importance of reading and writing to social status at the time: without access to text, it was considered impossible to fully participate in society. Blind people were excluded from the sighted world, but also entirely dependent on sighted people for information and education.

In France, debates about how to deal with disability led to the adoption of different strategies over time. While people with temporary difficulties were able to access public welfare, the most common response to people with long-term disabilities, such as hearing or vision loss, was to group them together in institutions (Tombs, 1996). At first, a joint institute for the blind and deaf was created, and although the partnership was motivated more by financial considerations than by the well-being of the residents, the institute aimed to help people develop skills valuable to society (Weygand, 2009). Eventually blind institutions were separated from deaf institutions, and the focus shifted towards education of the blind, as was the case for the Royal Institute for Blind Youth, which Louis Braille attended (Jimenez et al, 2009). The growing acknowledgement of the uniqueness of different disabilities led to more targeted education strategies, fostering an environment in which the benefits of a specifically blind education could be more widely recognized.

Several different systems of tactile reading can be seen as forerunners to the method Louis Braille developed, but these systems were all developed based on the sighted system. The Royal Institute for Blind Youth in Paris taught the students to read embossed roman letters, a method created by the school’s founder, Valentin Hauy (Jimenez et al., 2009). Reading this way proved to be a rather arduous task, as the letters were difficult to distinguish by touch. The embossed letter method was based on the reading system of sighted people, with minimal adaptation for those with vision loss. As a result, this method did not gain significant success among blind students.

Louis Braille was bound to be influenced by his school’s founder, but the most influential pre-Braille tactile reading system was Charles Barbier’s night writing. A soldier in Napoleon’s army, Barbier developed a system in 1819 that used 12 dots with a five line musical staff (Kersten, 1997). His intention was to develop a system that would allow the military to communicate at night without the need for light (Herron, 2009). The code developed by Barbier was phonetic (Jimenez et al., 2009); in other words, the code was designed for sighted people and was based on the sounds of words, not on an actual alphabet. Barbier discovered that variants of raised dots within a square were the easiest method of reading by touch (Jimenez et al., 2009). This system proved effective for the transmission of short messages between military personnel, but the symbols were too large for the fingertip, greatly reducing the speed at which a message could be read (Herron, 2009). For this reason, it was unsuitable for daily use and was not widely adopted in the blind community.

Nevertheless, Barbier’s military dot system was more efficient than Hauy’s embossed letters, and it provided the framework within which Louis Braille developed his method. Barbier’s system, with its dashes and dots, could form over 4000 combinations (Jimenez et al., 2009). Compared to the 26 letters of the Latin alphabet, this was an absurdly high number. Braille kept the raised dot form, but developed a more manageable system that would reflect the sighted alphabet. He replaced Barbier’s dashes and dots with just six dots in a rectangular configuration (Jimenez et al., 2009). The result was that the blind population in France had a tactile reading system using dots (like Barbier’s) that was based on the structure of the sighted alphabet (like Hauy’s); crucially, this system was the first developed specifically for the purposes of the blind.

While the Braille system gained immediate popularity with the blind students at the Institute in Paris, it had to gain acceptance among the sighted before its adoption throughout France. This support was necessary because sighted teachers and leaders had ultimate control over the propagation of Braille resources. Many of the teachers at the Royal Institute for Blind Youth resisted learning Braille’s system because they found the tactile method of reading difficult to learn (Bullock & Galst, 2009). This resistance was symptomatic of the prevalent attitude that the blind population had to adapt to the sighted world rather than develop their own tools and methods. Over time, however, with the increasing impetus to make social contribution possible for all, teachers began to appreciate the usefulness of Braille’s system (Bullock & Galst, 2009), realizing that access to reading could help improve the productivity and integration of people with vision loss. It took approximately 30 years, but the French government eventually approved the Braille system, and it was established throughout the country (Bullock & Galst, 2009).

Although Blind people remained marginalized throughout the nineteenth century, the Braille system granted them growing opportunities for social participation. Most obviously, Braille allowed people with vision loss to read the same alphabet used by sighted people (Bullock & Galst, 2009), allowing them to participate in certain cultural experiences previously unavailable to them. Written works, such as books and poetry, had previously been inaccessible to the blind population without the aid of a reader, limiting their autonomy. As books began to be distributed in Braille, this barrier was reduced, enabling people with vision loss to access information autonomously. The closing of the gap between the abilities of blind and the sighted contributed to a gradual shift in blind people’s status, lessening the cultural perception of the blind as essentially different and facilitating greater social integration.

The Braille system also had important cultural effects beyond the sphere of written culture. Its invention later led to the development of a music notation system for the blind, although Louis Braille did not develop this system himself (Jimenez, et al., 2009). This development helped remove a cultural obstacle that had been introduced by the popularization of written musical notation in the early 1500s. While music had previously been an arena in which the blind could participate on equal footing, the transition from memory-based performance to notation-based performance meant that blind musicians were no longer able to compete with sighted musicians (Kersten, 1997). As a result, a tactile musical notation system became necessary for professional equality between blind and sighted musicians (Kersten, 1997).

Braille paved the way for dramatic cultural changes in the way blind people were treated and the opportunities available to them. Louis Braille’s innovation was to reimagine existing reading systems from a blind perspective, and the success of this invention required sighted teachers to adapt to their students’ reality instead of the other way around. In this sense, Braille helped drive broader social changes in the status of blindness. New accessibility tools provide practical advantages to those who need them, but they can also change the perspectives and attitudes of those who do not.

An essay is a focused piece of writing that explains, argues, describes, or narrates.

In high school, you may have to write many different types of essays to develop your writing skills.

Academic essays at college level are usually argumentative : you develop a clear thesis about your topic and make a case for your position using evidence, analysis and interpretation.

The structure of an essay is divided into an introduction that presents your topic and thesis statement , a body containing your in-depth analysis and arguments, and a conclusion wrapping up your ideas.

The structure of the body is flexible, but you should always spend some time thinking about how you can organize your essay to best serve your ideas.

Your essay introduction should include three main things, in this order:

  • An opening hook to catch the reader’s attention.
  • Relevant background information that the reader needs to know.
  • A thesis statement that presents your main point or argument.

The length of each part depends on the length and complexity of your essay .

A thesis statement is a sentence that sums up the central point of your paper or essay . Everything else you write should relate to this key idea.

A topic sentence is a sentence that expresses the main point of a paragraph . Everything else in the paragraph should relate to the topic sentence.

At college level, you must properly cite your sources in all essays , research papers , and other academic texts (except exams and in-class exercises).

Add a citation whenever you quote , paraphrase , or summarize information or ideas from a source. You should also give full source details in a bibliography or reference list at the end of your text.

The exact format of your citations depends on which citation style you are instructed to use. The most common styles are APA , MLA , and Chicago .

Random Paragraph Generator

Please LIKE & SHARE to keep our generators available!

1000 word essay copy paste

If you're looking for random paragraphs, you've come to the right place. When a random word or a random sentence isn't quite enough, the next logical step is to find a random paragraph. We created the Random Paragraph Generator with you in mind. The process is quite simple. Choose the number of random paragraphs you'd like to see and click the button. Your chosen number of paragraphs will instantly appear.

While it may not be obvious to everyone, there are a number of reasons creating random paragraphs can be useful. A few examples of how some people use this generator are listed in the following paragraphs.

Creative Writing

Generating random paragraphs can be an excellent way for writers to get their creative flow going at the beginning of the day. The writer has no idea what topic the random paragraph will be about when it appears. This forces the writer to use creativity to complete one of three common writing challenges. The writer can use the paragraph as the first one of a short story and build upon it. A second option is to use the random paragraph somewhere in a short story they create. The third option is to have the random paragraph be the ending paragraph in a short story. No matter which of these challenges is undertaken, the writer is forced to use creativity to incorporate the paragraph into their writing.

Tackle Writers' Block

A random paragraph can also be an excellent way for a writer to tackle writers' block. Writing block can often happen due to being stuck with a current project that the writer is trying to complete. By inserting a completely random paragraph from which to begin, it can take down some of the issues that may have been causing the writers' block in the first place.

Beginning Writing Routine

Another productive way to use this tool to begin a daily writing routine. One way is to generate a random paragraph with the intention to try to rewrite it while still keeping the original meaning. The purpose here is to just get the writing started so that when the writer goes onto their day's writing projects, words are already flowing from their fingers.

Writing Challenge

Another writing challenge can be to take the individual sentences in the random paragraph and incorporate a single sentence from that into a new paragraph to create a short story. Unlike the random sentence generator , the sentences from the random paragraph will have some connection to one another so it will be a bit different. You also won't know exactly how many sentences will appear in the random paragraph.

Programmers

It's not only writers who can benefit from this free online tool. If you're a programmer who's working on a project where blocks of text are needed, this tool can be a great way to get that. It's a good way to test your programming and that the tool being created is working well.

Above are a few examples of how the random paragraph generator can be beneficial. The best way to see if this random paragraph picker will be useful for your intended purposes is to give it a try. Generate a number of paragraphs to see if they are beneficial to your current project.

If you do find this paragraph tool useful, please do us a favor and let us know how you're using it. It's greatly beneficial for us to know the different ways this tool is being used so we can improve it with updates. This is especially true since there are times when the generators we create get used in completely unanticipated ways from when we initially created them. If you have the time, please send us a quick note on what you'd like to see changed or added to make it better in the future.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can i use these random paragraphs for my project.

Yes! All of the random paragraphs in our generator are free to use for your projects.

Does a computer generate these paragraphs?

No! All of the paragraphs in the generator are written by humans, not computers. When first building this generator we thought about using computers to generate the paragraphs, but they weren't very good and many times didn't make any sense at all. We therefore took the time to create paragraphs specifically for this generator to make it the best that we could.

Can I contribute random paragraphs?

Yes. We're always interested in improving this generator and one of the best ways to do that is to add new and interesting paragraphs to the generator. If you'd like to contribute some random paragraphs, please contact us.

How many words are there in a paragraph?

There are usually about 200 words in a paragraph, but this can vary widely. Most paragraphs focus on a single idea that's expressed with an introductory sentence, then followed by two or more supporting sentences about the idea. A short paragraph may not reach even 50 words while long paragraphs can be over 400 words long, but generally speaking they tend to be approximately 200 words in length.

Essay Copy and Paste: Write 500-10,000 Words without Copying

Essay Copy and Paste

Essay Copy and Paste

Colleges, universities and other higher education institutions receive many applications during their admission time. Surprisingly, there are chances when students who submit their applications have similar credentials.

From ACT and SAT scores to qualification grades, students come from different high schools but with similar qualifications. Under the same circumstances, most of the students have outside activities that feature similar scope and significance.

1000 word essay copy paste

Resultantly, admission boards have a difficult time in identifying the right students for admission into undergraduate and graduate programs. As such, essays play an integral part when admission boards are making their final decision.

The essays give each student an individual opportunity to create their own impression. Through an essay, a student can show his or her career aspirations and personal experiences.

Therefore, essay writing needs to be original and not someone else’s work. As a student, you need to express your professional plan and academic goals in your ideas and words. Copy-pasting essays from another source can attract grave consequences.

What is an Essay Copy and Paste?

copy-paste

This is an essay that a student copies from another student or source.

A copy-paste essay can be from a fellow student whose paper you have read or the essay of another student from previous admissions.

If you copy essays from online resources, textbooks or another person’s notes, it is equally a form of copy-pasting.

A copy-paste essay is a form of plagiarism . Submitting these types of essays is a clear indication that you have put down work belonging to other authors knowingly. The fact that you did not recognize their efforts translates to plagiarism.

Students who submit this kind of essay do not want to go through the vigorous processes of essay writing. Researching, putting down ideas, referencing and the hard task of editing are what they try to avoid.

Copy-pasting essays is simply an act of laziness. Most students attribute this to a lack of adequate time for preparation. While others find some essay topics to be boring, there are those who opt to copy-paste because they did not receive adequate support from tutors.

Even though these arguments are understandable and valid, they are in no way a justification for submitting a copy-pasted essay.

Can You Write an Essay by Copy Pasting?

In any form of academic writing, the requirements compel you to produce and submit original work. Copying an essay is not permitted under any circumstances. The type of essay you submit should be free from any form of copy-pasted work.

do not copy-paste

Copying another person’s ideas or work then submitting as your own is a form of academic dishonesty.

Most of colleges and universities have their own regulations regarding copy-pasting of essays. These type of essays are categorized as plagiarized work hence an academic crime.

Consequences of Copying and Pasting Content for Your Essay

Since copy-pasting content for your essay is obviously academic dishonesty, there are dire consequences for the action. Invalidation of your results is one of the actions that a learning institution can take.

If you opt to complete your essay work through unethical means such as copy-pasting, there can be an annulment of your results irrespective of your study level.

Another notable consequence of copy-pasting is deferral from the particular program. This can happen for part of the course or worse still, the entire semester. Without a doubt, this is a big loss for a student and can have a huge negative impact on his or her academic journey.

As another form of punishment, there are authorities who assign students additional tasks. This means you may have more than one essay as a form of punishment. In other colleges, you will not only fail the test but there will be no chance to resubmit the essay.

There are also cases of appearing before a committee panel for the discussion of the case. There can be a possibility of the student tabling an apology.

There are some colleges that take copy-pasting of essays as a serious offence. In this case, harsh punitive measures apply such as expulsion or partial termination. This is usually the case if you submit copy-paste essays several times.

How to Copy Information Rightly Without Pasting

1. citation.

how to cite

If you have ideas that do not belong to you, do not copy and paste into your essay without proper citation. It is a better way of giving credit to the original owner of the content.

This should be done within the essay body or at the end of the information you have copy pasted. Proper citation will reduce the chances of plagiarism in your essay.

2. Use of Reference Page

On the last page of your essay, it is important to include a complete reference to the sources you have cited in the essay body. Include a full reference page indicating the author and pages where you copied your information.

3. Use of Quotes

This is another way of legalizing the content you intend to copy and paste into your essay. Simply put the content within quotation marks as a way of acknowledging that you are not the source of the ideas.

Alternatives to Copy Pasting

Copy the points, not the text.

Avoid copying everything into your essay. Focus on getting the main points from the author and copy them.

Also, ensure what you copy does not use the same sentence structure and phrases as the original content.

Hire a Writer

Without a doubt, hiring a writer is the best alternative to copy-pasting an essay. Professional writers can write a good essay from scratch. This means you cannot submit essays with plagiarism.

Luckily, there are many reputable online writing platforms with competent writers who can save you the agony of essay writing.

Paraphrasing the original essay you intend to copy is another alternative to avoid plagiarism. It is all about rewriting the original text into your own words. Ensure that you retain the meaning but the sentence structure and phrases should be completely different.

You can also use the spinning technique to avoid plagiarizing the essay. Here, you can generate original content from the one you are copying.

The spinning technology replaces all the words and phrases with respective synonyms.  There are different essay-spinning tools to use online.

This is similar to paraphrasing only that you will have to write afresh the original content using different words. When rewriting, retain all the original information of your source. It is just a matter of using your own words so that the content sounds different.

1200 words is a pretty sizable number. If you want to complete your assignment quickly and effectively, then definitely check out the guide below. We’ve also included practical tips to help you improve your essay-writing skills even further. Let’s get right into it!

The picture shows 1200-word essay structure.

1200-Word Essay Structure

First off, you’ll need to know what a 1200-word essay looks like. Without it, it would be impossible to outline your future paper.

A 1200-word essay consists of 3 integral parts:

  • 1 paragraph of introduction . Here, you hook your reader, provide them with a background on the topic, state your thesis, and give a short outline of your essay’s main body.
  • 8-10 paragraphs of main body . This part includes your arguments and evidence.
  • 1 paragraph of conclusion . Here, you submit your results and findings.

Each paragraph should be 100-150 words in length. It’s usually enough to cover almost any kind of topic.

Now that you know how to structure your essay, consider checking out our free outline generator. It will help you develop an outline for any type of paper in mere seconds!

1200-Word Essay Introduction

Your introduction would typically make up about 10% of your entire essay. It usually consists of a single paragraph that has around 150 words in it and includes the following parts:

  • A catchy hook.
  • Some background information.
  • A thesis statement.
  • A brief overview of your essay’s contents.

That’s a lot of information to fit into 150 words! This is why it’s critical to stay as precise as possible when writing your essay’s opening paragraph. Here are a few tips that will help you:

  • It’s best if your hook is attention-grabbing. A quotation, a piece of statistics, or an interesting fact related to your topic will do the trick. Want to make sure the results are perfect? Simply use our free hook generator!
  • Give enough background on your topic, but try not to go into too much detail.
  • A thesis statement is the most important part of your paper. It should contain the essay’s main points and be as brief as possible. Our thesis statement maker will help you formulate it quickly and easily.
  • After the thesis, add a quick summary of your essay’s contents. It will serve as a roadmap for your readers.
  • Your introduction can exceed 150 words, but it’s best to do so only if your topic is very complex.

1200-Words Essay Conclusion

The main goal of the conclusion is to briefly summarize your essay’s main idea and create a memorable final thought for your reader. Ideally, it should provide a feeling of finality and completeness as opposed to uncertainty. In addition to that, it should emphasize that the problem covered in your essay is super important and worthy of discussion.

As you can see, writing a conclusion is more challenging than it seems! If you need some assistance with it, follow our tips:

  • Remind your readers about the goal of your essay.
  • Go through the key ideas and findings that you’ve managed to gather.
  • Call your readers to action or simply say how your findings will affect the current situation in the subject’s framework.

Writing a 1200-word essay is much easier if you use online helper tools. For example, we definitely recommend you try our free concluding sentence generator. It’s super-smart and capable of making perfect conclusions in no time.

How Many References for a 1200-Word Essay Should You Include?

Another tricky aspect of the essay-writing game is determining how many references you will need. Their number will vary depending on the assignment, specific requirements, and the topic’s complexity. As a rule of thumb, there should be 8 to 12 citations for every 1000 words. It means that a 1200-word essay will require around 10 to 12 references. If you want to ensure your “works cited” section is perfectly formatted, try our citation generator.
