Essay On Animals

The quote by Anatole France, “Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened”, sums it all about animals. Planet Earth is home to humans as well as animals. According to the survey, it is estimated that over 8 million species of animals exist on Earth, living on land and water. Each species has a unique place in the environment and balances the ecosystem. These species play a significant role in the stability of the ecosystem, environment, and our lives.

Essay On Animals

Since the beginning of human civilisation, humans have interacted with wildlife. Before the era of industrialisation and urbanisation, human life was dependent on animals. The big animals were a threat to our ancestors who once lived in caves and were nomads. Eventually, they learned to survive, fight and use the animal's skin for clothing, the meat for food or bait, and ivory elements as utensils or ornaments. Even as humans evolved, animals have contributed to various aspects like transportation, the economy, social life etc. The increased dependence of humans on animals has caused threats to their existence. Hence, their preservation and protection against any abuse is our responsibility.

Animals are the most adorable and loving creatures existing on Earth. They might not be able to speak, but they can understand. They have a unique mode of interaction which is beyond human understanding. There are two types of animals: domestic and wild animals.

Domestic Animals | Domestic animals such as dogs, cows, cats, donkeys, mules and elephants are the ones which are used for the purpose of domestication. Wild animals refer to animals that are not normally domesticated and generally live in forests. They are important for their economic, survival, beauty, and scientific value.

Wild Animals | Wild animals provide various useful substances and animal products such as honey, leather, ivory, tusk, etc. They are of cultural asset and aesthetic value to humankind. Human life largely depends on wild animals for elementary requirements like the medicines we consume and the clothes we wear daily.

Nature and wildlife are largely associated with humans for several reasons, such as emotional and social issues. The balanced functioning of the biosphere depends on endless interactions among microorganisms, plants and animals. This has led to countless efforts by humans for the conservation of animals and to protect them from extinction. Animals have occupied a special place of preservation and veneration in various cultures worldwide.

Animals are made up of numerous cells that can move, sense and reproduce. They play a vital role in maintaining nature’s balance. Numerous animal species exist in the land as well as water, and each has a purpose for their existence.

Different Types Of Animals

Biologists have divided into particular groups for better understanding at the species level, for instance – amphibians - animals which live on land as well as water, reptiles – which are scaled bodies and cold-blooded animals, mammals – animals which give birth to the offspring in the womb and have mammary glands, birds – animals with forelimbs evolved to wings and feather-covered body, and also lays eggs for giving birth, fishes – aquatic animals having fins in place of limbs, and gills for the respiration, insects – they are mostly six-legged or more, and mostly having a head, abdomen, and thorax.

How Animals Help Humans

Since the time of existence and evolution of human beings, we have established ourselves as the greater and more superior species because of sophisticated and advanced ways of thinking and applying. With time, humans have learned to use animals to their benefit and have also realised how to incorporate animals into our social lives:-

Animal husbandry has been in existence for a very long period of time.

Animals have been used for numerous purposes like clothing, food, entertainment, and transportation.

Animals have also been used to discover new things from tests and research. Several vaccines and medicines obtained from animals have turned out to be benison.

Animals have also been used for outer-space explorations, leading to milestone achievements in scientific discoveries.

Humans have used animals for good (sustain livelihood) and evil purposes (acts of torture to poor animals). Even as the world modernised, people have started thinking about animals and working for their rights, creating awareness among humans.

The bond between humans and animals has evolved as a strong bond, and now both coexist with a mutual understanding of nature. Humans have strived to preserve those endangered and rare species via modern conservation modes, including national parks, sanctuaries, etc.

My Experience With Animals

As a child raised in a city, I never had first-hand experience with animals. Though people domesticate animals, I was always afraid of them. Due to the fear of getting infected and being bitten, I never went near them. One fine day, I saw finches in the pet shop near my house. At first glance, I loved them for a long time, but then one of my friends asked me to reach out to them and observe them. To my astonishment, the finches drew near me and were looking at me. I thought to take them with me, and when I took them – I was amazed by their understanding, love and interactions. This led me to love the animals and look at them from a different perspective, not with a fearful heart. They are the most loving creatures existing on Earth.

Essay on Animals: How to Write a Persuasive Paper

When writing a persuasive paper, your purpose is to convince your audience to agree with your idea or accept your recommendation for a course of action. If you’ve decided to write an essay on animals (either for a school assignment or for another purpose), here are the steps to follow.

1. Choose a topic

Some sample topics for an essay on animals include:

  • Everyone should spay or neuter their pets .
  • Adoption is the best option.
  • Dogs should be treated as individuals, not discriminated against because of breed.
  • Microchipping is important to keep pets with their families.

2. Research information on the topic

You can do research online and at the library, plus talk to experts in the field, to get more information. While reviewing the materials, look for interesting facts or tidbits that will hook your readers.

3. Create a flow chart

Statement

Reason 1

   Supporting data

   Supporting data

   Supporting data

Give Snickers a bright future

Reason 2

   Supporting data

Reason 3

4. Write the thesis statement for your paper

Now it's time to fill in the flow chart, first with your thesis statement. For example: "Everyone should spay or neuter their pets." This statement will go in the first box in your flow chart. The flow chart is a visual way to help you create an outline. An outline will help you organize the information in a logical order. Your finished product will have an introduction, a body, and a conclusion.

5. Write the reasons and supporting data

The body will contain the reasons and the supporting data listed on your flow chart. The body not only contains evidence to support your opinion but also addresses one or two opposing views.

Be sure to include your counter-argument when stating the opposing view. For example, one opposing view to the above statement might be this: "Many people think that an animal who has been spayed or neutered will become lazy and fat." Your counter-argument could be this: "This is a misconception. The main reason pets become overweight is lack of exercise and overfeeding."

6. Note engaging facts

Keep the flow chart handy as you read through all the information you have gathered. In a separate place, write “Hooks and facts to grab the reader’s attention,” and as you review your material, jot down cool facts that you come across. For example: "Just one female cat and her offspring can produce an estimated 420,000 cats in only seven years."

7. Consider all angles

Be sure to address a wide variety of reasons to support your topic statement. For example: Think about pet overpopulation, overcrowded shelters, the costs to your city or town, the effects on pet health, and pet behavior. What would your audience find most important?

8. Expand each reason individually

Before writing your actual paper, keep your facts straight by writing each reason and the supporting evidence on separate sheets of paper or documents.

9. Write your essay

Write your first draft. Then, revise your outline and draft as needed until you have your final draft. If necessary, include a bibliography.

Essay on Animals in English for School Students- 400 + Words

Introduction

Animals have always been an integral part of our lives. From the domestic pets we keep at home to the wonderful creatures that roam free in the forest, they fascinate us. They have diverse appearances and behaviours. Moreover, animals play a vital role in maintaining ecological balance on Earth. They help pollinate plants and disperse seeds, control pests, fertilize soil, and contribute to nutrient cycling.

So let’s dive into the fascinating world of fauna!

Let’s explore the different types of animals, why they are important, and ways to protect them.

The Different Types of Animals

Different Types of Animals edumantra.net

Animals can be classified into various categories based on their characteristics, behaviour, and habitat. Let’s take a closer look at the different types of animals. Domestic Animals- These animals have been tamed by humans and live alongside us in our homes or farms. Examples of domestic animals include dogs, cats, cows, and horses among others. These animals provide companionship to humans while also serving specific purposes such as providing food or transportation. Wild Animals- These animals live independently in nature without human intervention or control. They exist in various ecosystems around the world ranging from forests to deserts. Wild animals include lions, elephants, and giraffes among others and they play an important role in balancing the ecosystem by controlling populations of other organisms like herbivores. Aquatic Animals- Aquatic animals are those that live in water. The three main types of aquatic animals are fish, amphibians, and reptiles. Fish are the most common type of aquatic animal. There are more than 32,000 species of fish. They range in size from the tiny goby to the giant whale shark.

Why are Animals Important?

Animals play an important role in maintaining the balance and harmony of nature. Each animal species has unique characteristics that contribute to their importance in the grand scheme of things. One important reason why animals are vital is that they help pollinate plants, which makes it possible for us to grow crops and fruits. Without bees, butterflies and other pollinators, we would lose many plant species that provide us with food. Another reason why animals are essential is because they serve as natural pest control agents. For instance, owls prey on rodents while bats eat insects like mosquitoes that can spread diseases. This helps maintain a healthy environment for humans to live in. Furthermore, some animals have medicinal properties and can be used to develop drugs that treat various ailments. For example, snake venom has been used to create anticoagulants while horseshoe crab blood contains bacteria-fighting cells. In addition to these reasons, animals also bring joy into our lives through companionship or providing entertainment such as watching them in zoos or aquariums. Thus, it’s important that we recognize their value and take steps towards protecting them.

How can we Protect Animals?

It’s our responsibility to protect their habitats. There are several ways we can help preserve the lives of animals. Firstly, we must reduce our carbon footprint by consuming less energy and using eco-friendly products. We should avoid buying products that exploit animals or contribute to deforestation. By supporting companies that practice sustainable production methods, we can promote a healthier planet for both humans and animals. Secondly, educating ourselves about animal welfare is crucial. We need to understand how certain actions like littering or hunting affect wildlife survival rates negatively. Awareness campaigns on social media platforms can be incredibly effective in promoting animal conservation efforts. Thirdly, volunteering at local animal shelters or wildlife rehabilitation centres could be a great way to get involved with helping animals directly. You’ll learn more about animal behaviour, and habitat preservation techniques while contributing your time towards a worthy cause. Protecting animals requires a collective effort from everyone around the world; no action is too small when it comes to conserving the earth’s biodiversity!

To sum up, animals are an essential part of our ecosystem and play a significant role in maintaining the balance of nature. We should respect them and treat them with kindness. Domestic animals provide us with food, clothing, and companionship while wild animals play their part in biodiversity conservation. However, many animal species are at risk due to habitat destruction, poaching, climate change, pollution, and other human activities. It is crucial for us to take action to protect these vulnerable creatures before it’s too late. In conclusion, let us all work together towards creating a world where humans coexist peacefully with animals so that every creature has a fair chance at survival!

1. How do I write an essay on animals, our great teacher? Answer – There’s no doubt that animals are great teachers. They can teach us about patience, loyalty, and living in the moment. They can also teach us some important life lessons that we might not otherwise learn. Here are just a few of the things that animals can teach us: Animals can teach us about patience. Dogs, for example, often have to wait patiently for their owners to come home from work. They don’t get angry or frustrated; they just wait patiently until their loved ones return. This is a lesson that we could all stand to learn. Animals can also teach us about loyalty. No matter how bad things get, our furry friends always stick by our side. They never desert us when times are tough, and they are always there to offer a comforting presence when we need it most. This is a quality that we should aspire to in our own lives. Finally, animals can teach us to live in the moment. They don’t worry about the past or the future; they just enjoy the present moment. This is something that we humans could definitely learn from! One of the primary reasons why animals are important is their contribution to the food chain. Many people rely on them for meat, milk and eggs. For instance, cows provide us with milk which is consumed by billions of people every day. Similarly, animals like chicken and pigs are also major sources of food for humans.

Animals have also been our companions since ancient times. Many households own pets such as dogs or cats that offer friendship and emotional support to their owners. These animals help to reduce stress and anxiety levels in humans. More so, they have been trained for specific purposes such as guiding the visually impaired or detecting seizures in people with epilepsy.

Apart from being a source of food and companionship, animals also play an important role in scientific research. Many medical breakthroughs have been possible due to animal testing. Vaccines, drugs, and other treatments for various diseases have been developed through animal testing, which has significantly improved human health.

Moreover, animals play a crucial role in maintaining the balance of our ecosystem. They help to pollinate plants and disperse seeds, helping in the growth and reproduction of various plant species. Some animals also act as natural pest control for crops, reducing the need for harmful pesticides.

Essay on Animal Rights:

Animal rights are the fundamental moral and ethical principles that recognize all animals as deserving of basic rights and protections. This means that animals should not be treated as objects for human use, but rather as sentient beings with their own inherent value.

The concept of animal rights has gained much attention in recent years due to the increasing awareness of animal welfare issues. It covers a wide range of topics, including the proper treatment and care of animals, the use of animals for scientific research and entertainment purposes, and the protection of endangered species.

It is important to recognize that animals have their own needs and interests, and it is our responsibility as humans to ensure their well-being. By respecting animal rights, we can create a more compassionate and just society for all beings. So let us all strive towards a world where animal rights are recognized and respected.

Animal rights is not just about protecting individual animals, but also about preserving the natural habitats and ecosystems in which they live. This includes advocating for sustainable practices that do not harm or exploit animals and their environments.

In addition to this, animal rights also encompasses the ethical treatment of farm animals who are often subjected to cruel and inhumane living conditions. By promoting ethical farming practices, we can improve the lives of these animals while also creating a healthier and more sustainable food system.

Furthermore, animal rights extends to the protection of wildlife and their habitats from human activities such as deforestation, poaching, and pollution. These actions not only harm individual animals but also have a negative impact on the delicate balance of our ecosystems.

In conclusion, animal rights is not just a moral and ethical issue, but also an environmental and societal one. By recognizing and respecting the inherent value of all animals, we can work towards creating a more compassionate and sustainable world for both humans and animals alike. Let us continue to advocate for animal rights and strive towards a better future for all beings.

Essay on Love and Care for Animals:

Love and care for animals is an important topic that needs to be addressed in today’s society. Animals are living beings, just like humans, who deserve our love and compassion.

Firstly, it is essential to understand that animals have feelings too. They experience pain and suffering just like we do. Therefore, it is our responsibility to provide them with the necessary love and care to ensure their well-being.

Secondly, having a pet is a significant way of expressing love and care for animals. Pets bring immense joy and happiness to our lives, and in return, we should provide them with proper care and attention. This includes providing them with a balanced diet, regular exercise, and taking care of their health needs.

Moreover, animal shelters are also essential in showing love and care for animals. These shelters provide a safe haven for abandoned, abused, and neglected animals. Volunteering at these shelters or even adopting an animal from there can make a significant difference in their lives.

Furthermore, it is crucial to raise awareness about animal welfare issues and encourage others to show love and care towards animals. This can be done through education, campaigns, and advocating for stricter laws to protect animals from cruelty and abuse.

In conclusion, love and care for animals is not just a moral obligation, but it also benefits society as a whole. Essay on Animals are Best Friends:

Animals have been a constant companion to humans for centuries. They are not only our companions but also an integral part of our lives. One of the reasons animals are considered as best friends is because they offer unconditional love and loyalty.

Dogs, cats, horses, and many other animals have been domesticated by humans to serve as faithful companions. They provide us with emotional support, companionship, and even protection. They are always there for us, no matter what, and their unconditional love has been proven time and time again.

Animals also have a positive impact on our mental and physical well-being. Studies have shown that spending time with animals can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. Their presence can bring a sense of calmness and happiness in our lives.

Moreover, animals are also great teachers. They teach us important life lessons such as patience, responsibility, and compassion. Taking care of an animal requires dedication and commitment, which helps in developing a sense of responsibility in individuals.

Animals are also known for their loyal nature. They will always stand by our side, even during the toughest times. This loyalty is not just limited to domesticated animals, but it can also be seen in the wild. Animals have been known to risk their lives for the protection of their families and territories.

In addition, many animal species are on the verge of extinction due to human activities such as deforestation and poaching. It is our responsibility to protect these innocent creatures and preserve their habitats.

In conclusion, animals are much more than just pets. They are our best friends and play a significant role in our lives. From companionship to teaching us important life lessons, they have made a positive impact on humanity.

Essay on Importance of Animals in Environment:

Animals play a crucial role in maintaining balance and harmony in our environment. From providing us with food, clothing, and medicine to regulating the ecosystem and pollinating plants, animals contribute significantly to our daily lives.

One of the primary reasons for protecting animals is their impact on the environment. Animals are an essential part of the food chain, and their absence can lead to imbalances that can have disastrous consequences. For instance, the loss of a single species of pollinators, such as bees, can adversely affect crop production and threaten food security.

Moreover, animals also help in maintaining the health of our environment. For example, many animals feed on invasive plant species, keeping them in check and preventing them from overtaking native plants. Similarly, certain animals, such as vultures, play a vital role in reducing the spread of diseases by scavenging and cleaning up carcasses.

In addition to their ecological importance, animals also provide numerous economic benefits. For instance, livestock production contributes significantly to the economy and provides livelihoods for millions of people worldwide. Similarly, tourism based on wildlife observation generates billions of dollars annually and supports local communities.

Furthermore, animals also hold cultural and spiritual significance for many societies. They are often revered as symbols of strength, intelligence, and wisdom. In some cultures, certain animals are considered sacred and are protected as a result.

In conclusion, the importance of animals in our environment cannot be overstated. From their role in maintaining ecological balance to providing us with essential resources, animals are crucial for our survival and well-being. It is our responsibility to protect and conserve them for future generations to enjoy.

Essay on Animals in Captivity:

Animals in captivity have been a topic of debate for many years. While some argue that it is necessary for conservation and research purposes, others believe it to be cruel and unethical. In this essay, we will discuss the various aspects of animals in captivity and provide our perspective on the matter.

On one hand, keeping animals in captivity can be seen as a way to protect endangered species and prevent them from extinction. Zoos, for example, have been successful in breeding programs for endangered animals such as pandas and tigers. This ensures that these species continue to exist and play their part in maintaining the balance of our ecosystem. Additionally, captivity also provides opportunities for research and study on different animal behaviors and biology.

However, the other side argues that keeping animals in captivity goes against their natural way of living. In the wild, these animals have large territories to roam freely, hunt for food and interact with other species. In captivity, they are confined to small enclosures which can lead to physical and psychological problems such as obesity, depression and even aggression.

Furthermore, many argue that the entertainment aspect of captivity is exploitative and cruel. Animals are often forced to perform tricks and live in unnatural environments for the sake of human entertainment. This can also have negative effects on their well-being.

In conclusion, while captivity may have its benefits in terms of conservation and research, it is important to consider the ethical implications and effect on animal welfare. Therefore, strict regulations and standards should be put in place to ensure that the animals are well-cared for and their needs are met

Essay on Animals for Class 1:

Animals are an essential part of our planet Earth. They come in different shapes, sizes, and colors. They can be found on land, water, and even in the air. The animal kingdom is vast and diverse.

Some animals have two legs like us humans while some have four legs like dogs and cats. Some animals fly like birds while some swim like fish. Each animal has its unique characteristics and plays a vital role in maintaining the balance of nature.

Animals are not just creatures that we see in the zoo or on TV. They are an essential part of our lives as they provide us with food, transportation, companionship, and many other things. We must learn to respect and care for animals because without them, our world would not be the same.

Some animals are endangered, which means that there are very few of them left in the world. It is our responsibility to protect these animals and their habitats so that they can continue to thrive on our planet.

We should also learn to coexist with animals peacefully. This means treating them with kindness and understanding their needs. We must always remember that we share this planet with animals and it is our duty to ensure their well-being.

In conclusion, animals are fascinating creatures that bring beauty and diversity to our world. We must learn to appreciate and protect them for future generations to also be able to experience their wonder.

Essay on Animals also have Feeling:

Animals are often thought of as being less intelligent and less emotional than humans. However, recent studies have shown that animals also have complex emotions and feelings just like humans do. In fact, many scientists argue that animals experience a wide range of emotions including joy, fear, sadness, anger and even love.

One common misconception about animals is that they only feel basic instincts such as hunger, thirst and the need to reproduce. While these instincts do play a crucial role in animal behavior, they are not the only factors that drive their actions. Animals also have more complex emotions that influence their behavior in different situations.

For instance, studies have shown that elephants mourn their dead and even hold funeral-like rituals for their deceased members. This displays an emotional connection and a sense of grief that goes beyond basic survival instincts. Similarly, many animals exhibit signs of fear and anxiety in certain situations such as being separated from their pack or being in danger.

Moreover, animals also form bonds and relationships with each other just like humans do. For example, dolphins have been observed helping injured members of their pod by carrying them to the surface for air. This type of behavior shows compassion and empathy towards their fellow dolphins.

In addition to these emotions, animals have also been shown to feel joy and happiness. Many pet owners can attest to the fact that their furry companions display signs of excitement and contentment when they are being praised or given treats.

Overall, it is important for us as humans to recognize and acknowledge that animals also have complex emotions and feelings just like us. By understanding this, we can develop a deeper appreciation and respect for all creatures on our planet.

So, it is crucial to treat them with kindness and compassion, just as we would want to be treated ourselves. Animals may not communicate in the same way as humans do, but they still deserve love, care and understanding. Let us strive to create a world where all beings can live in harmony and happiness.

Long And Short Essay on My Pet Animal for Kids and Students in English

Given below is an extended essay composed of 500 words and a short essay comprising 100-150 words, in English.

Long Essay on My Pet Animal in English 500 words

Pets are not merely animals living with us. They become a part of our family because of the sheer comfort we get from them. I have always wanted a pet and last summer my mother bought me a puppy. He was the most adorable and beautiful puppy I had ever seen, and taking care of him became my responsibility. It was a suitable breed and had soft paws, which was a sign of expensive breeding. We decided to name our new golden retriever, Comet.

Comet had golden fur and long ears. His eyes were always joyful, and he was a bundle of joy. His golden coat shone in the sunlight as he ran about in our lawn. He loved eating roasted chicken and his dog food. At night, he would cuddle up in my bed, next to me, and go to sleep.

My father had created a small sleeping area for Comet, but he never slept there. He loved sleeping next to me at night. Comet was an active dog. He loved to go on walks, and we took him to the field twice a day. He became very popular among my friends, and they adored him.

Dogs are the most faithful animals, and Comet was no different. He knew all of us by our smell. Comet loved my mother very much, and when she would come home after work, Comet would jump on her and lick her face. All he wanted to be a little pat on the head. My mother would scratch his neck lovingly, and Comet would bask in all that attention he got.

He was a favorite in the family. We treated him like any other member and took him everywhere we went. We occasionally went on road trips, and Comet loved to ride the car. He would bark joyously when the wind ruffled his fur and enjoy the warm sunlight.

Find other Animal Essay topics .

Comet was extremely protective of my little brother. He had met him when he was barely two months old, and they had developed a connection. Comet would guard Jess when he slept and would not let anybody touch him. Initially, my mother was apprehensive of allowing a dog to get close to Jess, but when she saw how caring Comet was towards Jess, she did not stop him.

Jess was never afraid of Comet. We would put him on Comet’s back, and Comet would carry him around the house. Both of them would be so happy, Jess would laugh lusciously, and Comet would bark with happiness. Jess would stroke his fur and pet him, and Comet would cuddle up next to his crib.

Caring for a pet becomes difficult. We must take care of them and make sure they visit the vet regularly. We must look out for ticks and other skin infections. Maintaining a pet comes with many responsibilities, and we must fulfill them and do what is best for our pets.

Short Essay on My Pet Animal in English 150 words

Taking care of pets is a difficult and time-consuming job and must be done with dedication and love. We must know when to take them to vets and how to take care of them.

My family has always loved pets, and we are very careful about his health. He bathes once a week because too much water is not suitable for his fur. He does not like brushing his teeth, and we have to tempt him with a piece of roasted chicken so that he lets us brush his teeth.

Our dog visits the vet once a month, and he is always rewarded with his favorite food afterward. We make sure he takes his vaccines on time and eats his meals. A healthy pet is essential for the house, and we love to take care of our dog.

Introduction

Our planet Earth is a very beautiful place. Here, all the living organisms are dependent on each other and live together. We, humans, are considered as the most intelligent species on Earth. But, we sometimes become very insensitive to the creatures who cannot express themselves, especially the animals. We harm them just to fulfill our needs. We have an essay here on cruelty towards animals which will cover the questions like - write an article on cruelty towards animals, cruelty towards animals paragraph, paragraph on stop cruelty towards animals, article on cruelty towards animals class 9 and so on.

Long Paragraph on Cruelty to Animals

Animals, just like human beings, deserve a peaceful life. Animals are an important part of our ecosystem and are very useful to us. But, we sometimes forget that they are also living creatures. We keep on harassing them and these poor creatures can't even express their feelings and grief. Cruelty towards animals have become an international matter of concern. This needs to be addressed as soon as possible and should be eliminated for ever.

We become cruel towards animals for two reasons - one to fulfill our needs and other for fun. We use animals for their fur, their skin, their meat, their teeth and horns too. Sometimes, we apply colours on them which harm their skin, we also burn crackers without thinking about them. Sometimes , the tea-shop keeper pours the hot water on the street dogs, which is a great example of cruel behaviour towards the animals.

The animal skins are used in textile industries. Their skin and body hairs are used to make exotic fabrics for us to use. Animal’s teeth, horns, skin and fur are used to make home decor items which we beautifully use to decorate our homes without thinking how much pain animals go through for giving us these luxuries.

Another industry that contributes in cruelty to animals is the cosmetic industry. Whenever we buy any cosmetic products, we always make sure that the product is safe on our skin. But, we hardly realise that these products are tested on animals before it reaches us. The chemicals are often injected in animal’s bodies or applied on their skin. Sometimes, these are tested on their eyes too. And if the test fails, it sometimes leads to the animal's death also. These tests cause itching and burning too. But,we the human beings, keep on torturing the animals for our own purposes.

Our progressing medical science also has a big role in harassing the animals and showing our cruelty towards them. For the trials of medicines, animals are selected. They are then injected with the trial medicines without thinking about their pain. They are often kept in freezing temperatures for the experiments. We also ill treat the animals at zoos and circuses. The place where they are kept is not cleaned often. Also, the feeding methods are not too hygienic. These result in various diseases and often to their death.

Many animals and birds, in the name of pets, are being sold everyday. These animals are kept in cages or are kept tied with a chain. Most often, they are beaten up. The street dogs are often beaten up by the shopkeepers if they are found roaming around. Many cows are found roaming around the garbage heaps finding food. Many times many animals are hit by the fast moving traffic. These all are the examples of cruelty towards animals.

But now it's enough! We, the human beings, who are considered as the most intelligent creatures on Earth have to stop playing with these poor creatures' lives. We have to raise our voice and stop being cruel to the animals. We have to bring new strong laws to protect the animals. Every school should teach students how to respect and protect our fellow creatures - animals. Parents themselves should treat the animals with respect and love and should teach their wards the same.

We should always keep one thing in mind that we cannot survive without animals. Everything on Earth has its own purpose. The animals help in balancing our ecosystem. We have to take a call and save our environment, our mother Earth and our animals.

Short Paragraph on Stop Cruelty Towards Animals

Cruelty means a behaviour that harms others physically or mentally. But it's a matter of shame that we only consider human beings when it comes to cruelty. We forget that animals are also living creatures and we should not be cruel to them. Just because these creatures can not express themselves as we do, we forget that what we are doing to them if someone does to us, we will die.

Human industries that contribute to this cruelty are - Textile, Cosmetics, Home Decor and many more. Animal skins and furs are used in textile industries, animal skin, fur, horns and teeths are used to make home decor items. Many animals are killed for their meat also. Animals are ill-treated in laboratories where they are used for testing and experiments. They are often kept in freezing conditions or in boiling conditions.

It is high time now that we stop abusing these poor animals. They are also living beings and are very very important to us as without them the whole ecosystem will disbalance. We should raise awareness and stop these cruelties against animals.

Conclusion:

Cruelty to animals has become a nationwide problem nowadays. The government has already imposed a few laws and a few more are needed. Along with that, social awareness is also required. Students should learn how to treat animals in schools. Parents should also treat their pets well and teach their children. Our planet Earth is a very beautiful place. Here, all the living organisms are dependent on each other and live together. We, humans, are considered the most intelligent species on Earth. But, we sometimes become very insensitive to the creatures who cannot express themselves, especially the animals. We harm them just to fulfil our needs.

We have an essay here on cruelty towards animals which will cover the questions like - write an article on cruelty towards animals, cruelty towards animals paragraph, paragraph on stop cruelty towards animals, article on cruelty towards animals class 9 and so on.

  • Section 22(ii), PCA Act, 1960 - Animals such as Monkeys, Tigers, Bears, Lions, Panthers, Bull can not be trained and can not be used for entertainment purposes.

2. How do we Use Animal Teeth and Horns?

We use animal teeth and horns to make decorative pieces with which we decorate our home and offices. These decorative items are truly expensive for nature and its habitats. The most common example of animal cruelty is hunting. Animals are hunted for their meat, bones, leather or any other precious body parts. This can cause the species to be endangered or even go extinct. Another example of animal cruelty is enslaving them for entertainment or hard work. There are a lot of examples of animals being cruelty trained in circuses, kept as prisoners in zoos, or used as labourers to get the hardest jobs done.

3. What is meant by cruelty to animals?

Animal cruelty is defined as harming animals by either subjecting them to slavery, product-testing, or hunting. Killing endangered species for their meat, bones, or leather also comes under animal cruelty and is a punishable offence. The government of India has passed a lot of laws that prevent cruelty to animals from happening on a large scale. But still, in some neglected places like undeveloped villages, slums, or forests, these activities are followed illegally. And the government and some big governing bodies like PETA are working hard towards eradicating any kind of animal cruelty.

4. How does cruelty affect animals?

Cruelty towards animals can be dangerous for their overall species. There are a lot of examples like dodos, sabre tooth tigers, etc that have gone extinct because of excessive hunting. It is also morally incorrect to torture any living thing to die for the sake of an experiment. That's why animal testing is also banned. Animal testing is another example of animal cruelty and can hurt animals and even cruelly kill them. Animal cruelty should be banned completely.

5. How can we prevent animal cruelty?

There are very clear action steps to take to prevent animal cruelty. We can be responsible pet owners and start showing love and affection towards the animals at our home. We can adopt or at least hand over the abandoned baby animals we find on the streets to animal care centres. We can prohibit the use of animal-tested cosmetics or any products. We can even file a complaint against anyone who is abusing stray animals or harming them.

People keep a dog as a pet for reasons a liking for them as also a constant watchman by night and day. There are signboards at the gate of persons keeping dogs as pets ‘Beware of dogs’ which means that the dogs kept as pets would not allow any unknown person to enter the premises of the house. This is a great advantage and great protection. There are different species of dogs, some are just lovely, furry, fluffy beings who sit crouched cozily in the lap harmless ones harmless even to an outsider. There are the other ones who are the bigger ones in size and ferocious indeed. They can tear an intruder apart, would bark, aloud to awaken the whole house.

Pets Essay

They may be ferocious to an outsider or an intruder but to their master and to the family they are docile and cool abiding by their every command or direction. The master and the dog are inseparable when the master is back home after his day’s work. It must jump up to reach the master, feel contentment only after being given a loving pat, not without it. Faithful they are to that extent that stories go about some of them who gave up food and drink and gave up their lives after their master was no more.

Dogs have a great instinct for learning. Though animals, they exhibit a great sense of intelligence. They can be trained even by the crime-investigating agencies and have successfully worked out to catch the criminal.

Loving, faithful, ferocious, and intelligent with an instinct to learn that is all about dogs as pets.

Below we have given a short essay on Pets is for Classes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. This short essay on the topic is suitable for students of class 6 and below.

Cats are kept as pets too. But as contrasted with dogs cats are less faithful, less loving more self-loving. They cannot be any risk to an intruder and can be lured away.

There have been no cases of cats sacrificing themselves for their master. But they are lovely creatures who would cozily comfort themselves in the bed of their masters and love to be in the lap. People keep cats as pets just for their looks their fluffy purring behavior. They are loved for their looks that is what cats are.

Keeping pets is both a pleasure and a task. Once one gets lured to keep pets, one cannot give up one’s liking for them, so much so that pets — dogs and cats once kept, they become a part of the family, a part of life, and one cannot give them up. It is a love that lasts.

Essay on Cruelty to Animals in 500 Words

Cruelty to animals means poor and violent behaviour towards animals. In the name of research and experiments, humans use animals as bait. In zoological parks, wildlife sanctuaries and national parks, a lot of animals live in poor conditions, resulting in their endangerment and ultimately their extinction.

Every living being on this planet deserves to live a peaceful life according to their natural features. There are marine animals that survive in deep water only, terrestrial animals on land and birds that migrate from one place to another.

In many countries, including India, animal cruelty is a crime. Under the IPC Sections 428 and 429, killing, poisoning and causing physical harm to animals is a punishable offence.

To achieve sustainable development, we must have a balanced ecosystem, where animals can live freely. Certain measures can help prevent animal cruelty. Supporting animal shelters by providing funds and encouraging animal adoption for shelters can be one way. Educating people about the importance of animal welfare is another strategy. Students, native people and even adults must be educated about animal cruelty and how it harms the overall well-being of animals.

One popular example of animal cruelty is animal training. Places like circuses and private animal training centres physically harm animals, as they want them to perform certain activities in the name of entertainment. Beating animals to make someone laugh or entertain is not just legally wrong but is also an inhuman practice, for animals to have emotions and feel pain.

Appropriate use of technology can help stop animal cruelty. Social media platforms can help raise awareness about animal cruelty, where experts can share information and mobilise people for animal welfare support.

In recent years, a lot of people have turned to a vegan lifestyle and given up their non-vegetarian lifestyle. Promoting and supporting vegetarian and vegan lifestyles will help reduce the exploitation of animals for food.

In Hindu mythologies, animals were considered sacred and were venerated. These included animals like tigers, elephants, cows, mice, etc. It is up to us how we treat animals. Schools and educational institutions must teach students what animal cruelty is and why it must be stopped.

Our leather clothes, fancy carpets, shoes, belts and even car seats are made of animal skins. Young animals are killed to obtain their body parts for trade and business. They are illegally transported from one country to another and sold in the black market. We very happily put a bird in a cage, but can we imagine ourselves in a cage? Animals have to suffer due to human activities.

We, as humans, must stop this madness. They are as much part of this world as we are. Now, it’s high time that we take strong measures to stop cruelty towards animals. It will require a collective effort from different countries to implement international laws against animal cruelty and punish the evildoers.

Paragraph on Animal Cruelty

Every animal on the earth deserves to live in peace. It is due to selfish human activities, where animals are used and killed for various factors. From scientific experiments to the domestication of animals, humans harm animals with different methods. Just like us, animals also have emotions and feel pain. God has given them an equal right to live just as to us. But here we are, killing animals to obtain their teeth, skins and other body parts to decorate our homes. On one side we are killing an animal, and on the other, we are killing a living being. Our cosmetic industries, medicines and even non-vegetarian diets are all responsible for animal cruelty. We must stop such sinful activities as they disturb the ecological balance and hurt poor animals. To stop animal cruelty, we must collectively work and take strong legal measures to stop it. We must raise awareness about animal cruelty, educate people and support animal shelters.

Ans: Animal cruelty refers to the harmful and poor behaviour towards animals. As humans, we think that we are superior and that every other living and non-living thing is inferior to us. We treat and do things in ways we like and want them to.

Ans: Animal cruelty can be stopped by strong legal measures, proper education, animal shelters, humane education programs, anonymous mechanisms, etc.

Ans: There are four types of animal abuse: simple neglect, abuse and torture, organised abuse and illegal breeding or animal sexual abuse.

Ans: Under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, Sections 428 and 429 states that animal cruelty is a punishable offence.

Engaging with advocacy organizations, communities, journalists, and policymakers, the Institute serves as a resource hub for animal law and policy issues.

The Animal Law and Policy Institute is dedicated to supporting aspiring animal advocates through rigorous coursework, rewarding mentorships, as well as real-world trainings and experiences. We collaborate closely with the school’s other leading programs—including environmental law and policy, agriculture and food, and restorative justice—recognizing the interconnections between justice movements, animals, humans, and the environment.

Animal law and policy is a rapidly expanding field with an increasing number of students and employers recognizing and focusing on the interconnection between human, environmental, and animal well-being. Law and graduate students at VLGS benefit from the school’s decades-long history as a pioneer in animal law, its distinguished faculty, robust and active network of alumni in leadership positions, and collaborative programs.

VLGS offers a variety of options for students and advocates interested in taking courses or earning degrees. JD students may choose from a number of specialized courses and clinical opportunities, including the Farmed Animal Advocacy Clinic to earn a Concentration in Animal Law residentially or through the animal law track online .

Earning this concentration provides students with the skills and training needed to practice animal protection law, lead animal advocacy organizations, and advance legal protections for animals. Law school graduates and current VLGS students may launch or further their animal advocacy careers with an Animal Law LLM residentially or online.

Applications are now open for three Animal Law and Policy Fellowships for the 2024-25 school year.

Building upon its long history of training leaders in environmental and animal protection, VLGS recently launched the Master of Animal Protection Policy Program and will welcome the first class in August 2023. They are open to anyone interested in learning more about animal advocacy and provide non-degree seekers and students from other schools an opportunity to participate in our courses and programs.

As with other VLGS courses and degrees, there are opportunities to take animal law and policy courses on campus or online; as part of a residential or online hybrid JD, master’s or joint degree ; as a non-degree seeking student; and on a variety timelines. VLGS strives to provide a wide range of opportunities for students and professionals to access our courses and learn how to be effective advocates for animals.

Animal law and policy is a rapidly growing field with expanding career pathways. Animal advocates include attorneys, lobbyists, legislative staff in animal advocacy organizations, consultants to nonprofits, animal care professionals, authors, professors, politicians, staff in government agencies, and others. Attorneys advocate for animal interests in civil matters—including animal custody disputes, wrongful death, pet trusts, consumer protection, and veterinary malpractice in specialized firms—as part of their practice, or by providing pro bono services. They protect animals who are victims of crimes in local, state, and federal jurisdictions. Advocates also lobby for more legal protections, expanding regulatory and enforcement efforts through specialized divisions in federal and state departments.

VLGS has long been a leader in the field of animal law and policy, and our graduates have been making a difference in the lives of animals for decades. Essay on Love for Animals

Students are often asked to write an essay on Love for Animals in their schools and colleges. And if you’re also looking for the same, we have created 100-word, 250-word, and 500-word essays on the topic.

Let’s take a look…

100 Words Essay on Love for Animals

The essence of love for animals.

Love for animals is a heartfelt emotion we feel towards our furry friends. It’s about caring for them and respecting their lives.

Our Bond with Animals

We share a unique bond with animals. Pets like dogs and cats offer companionship and unconditional love.

Importance of Loving Animals

Loving animals teaches us empathy and kindness. It’s crucial for their survival and our environment.

Acting on Our Love

We can show our love by adopting pets, feeding stray animals, and standing against animal cruelty. Remember, every animal deserves love and respect.

250 Words Essay on Love for Animals

The profound connection: humans and animals, the evolutionary perspective.

From an evolutionary standpoint, humans have always been closely tied to animals. Early humans relied on animals for food, clothing, and tools, fostering a sense of respect and appreciation. Domestication further deepened this bond, with animals becoming integral to human survival and society.

Psychological Benefits of Animal Love

Love for animals also has significant psychological implications. Interactions with animals have been shown to reduce stress, improve mood, and even enhance social interactions. Pets, in particular, can provide a sense of companionship and unconditional love that is deeply comforting.

Animal Love and Environmental Stewardship

Furthermore, love for animals often translates into broader environmental stewardship. Those who feel a deep connection to animals are more likely to engage in conservation efforts, promoting biodiversity and the health of our planet.

In conclusion, love for animals is a multifaceted phenomenon that transcends simple emotional attachment. It is rooted in our evolutionary history, contributes to our psychological well-being, and promotes environmental stewardship. As we move forward in an increasingly interconnected world, fostering this love for animals is more important than ever.

500 Words Essay on Love for Animals

Introduction: defining love for animals.

Love for animals, or anthrozoology, is a profound emotional connection that humans form with non-human species. This bond, which transcends the confines of survival instincts, is an intricate blend of empathy, compassion, and mutual respect. It is a testament to the human capacity for understanding and coexisting with different forms of life.

Animals as Emotional Companions

In the modern world, animals, particularly pets, play a significant role in the emotional well-being of humans. They provide unconditional love, companionship, and emotional support. Studies have shown that interactions with pets can lower blood pressure, reduce stress, and even increase longevity. This therapeutic effect is the cornerstone of practices like animal-assisted therapy, which leverages the human-animal bond to aid in mental health treatments.

Conservation and Ethical Implications

Love for animals also has profound implications for conservation. It motivates people to protect endangered species and their habitats. This emotional connection can be a powerful tool in raising awareness about biodiversity loss and driving conservation efforts. However, it also raises ethical questions. How do we balance our love for animals with our need for resources? Is it ethical to keep animals in zoos or as pets, given their inherent wild nature? These questions challenge us to critically evaluate our relationship with animals and strive for a more balanced coexistence.

Animals in Literature and Culture

Conclusion: the future of human-animal relations.

In conclusion, love for animals is a complex, multifaceted emotion that has shaped human evolution, society, and culture. As we move towards a future marked by environmental challenges, this bond will play a crucial role in fostering empathy for all life forms and driving conservation efforts. However, it also necessitates a critical reassessment of our ethical responsibilities towards animals. Ultimately, our love for animals challenges us to redefine our place in the natural world, not as dominators, but as respectful co-inhabitants.

That’s it! I hope the essay helped you.

Happy studying!

Hard work paid off Saturday for several local FFA high school students and 4-H Club members who showcased and auctioned off the animals they have spent months raising.

They’ve dedicated hours each week feeding and caring for their charges, entering small animals such as turkeys and rabbits and even larger animals such as hogs and cows into the annual Junior Livestock Auction at the OC Fair.

Several Orange County high schools have FFA programs, once called Future Farmers of America, with students learning about agriculture and livestock careers. There are also several 4-H Clubs in the region offering similar experiences to a broader age range of children.

The OC Fair has a variety of livestock on display and there are usually exhibitors around to answer questions. The livestock competitions continue throughout the rest of the fair, with breeding sheep, Angora goats and miniature donkeys exhibitions next week.

At the top of the list is a kind of’ government-sponsored cruelty that is evident from the sorry state of our zoos where animals are kept in cramped cages, some of which’ stink’ so badly that you can’t get the strength to look at the animals more closely. Behind the doors of the laboratory is the most horrifying instance of cruelty — young animals in the laboratory are being tortured in the name of studies and experimentation.

In cosmetics, 60,000 chemicals are used and often tested on rats, rabbits, guinea pigs, mice, and monkeys. To determine corneal irritation, corrosive chemicals are injected into the eyes. In order to determine tissue deterioration, animals are frozen in ice and put on hot plates. Every year, about ten million animals are murdered in experiments.

Other cases of worldwide reported cruelty include rare species such as Liver Ridley tortoises becoming enmeshed in the trawler’s nets, leading in suffocation, or spinal tailed lizards Sold to create aphrodisiacs. In the presence of prospective clients, their necks are snapped.

The fins of the sharks are sliced and the bad animals flow back into the ocean to die a painful death. Frog legs are also cut, which are handled as a delicacy. Wildlife Laws

There is legislation specified solely to save the rare and rapidly decreasing species. For example, the Constitution’s Article 15A(G) aimed at protecting and improving the natural environment. The Wildlife Protection Act of 1972 is another comparable law.

But the anomaly is that there is not enough implementation of any of this legislation. Also, the Wildlife Protection Act, for example, was revised in 1991, but it could not stop India’s exotic bird trade.
