About Zahida Hina

Zahida Hina is a noted Urdu columnist, essayist, short story writer, novelist and dramatist from Pakistan.

Zahida was born in the Sasaram town of Bihar, India. After the partition of India, her father, Muhammad Abul Khair, emigrated to Pakistan and settled in Karachi, where Zahida was brought up and educated. She wrote her first story when she was nine years old. She graduated from University of Karachi, and her first essay was published in the monthly Insha in 1962. She chose journalism as a career in mid 60s. In 1970, she married the well-known poet Jon Elia. Zahida Hina was associated with the daily Jang from 1988 until 2005, when she moved to the Daily Express, Pakistan. She now lives in Karachi. Hina has also worked for Radio Pakistan, BBC Urdu and Voice of America.

Since 2006, she has written a weekly column, Pakistan Diary in Rasrang, the Sunday magazine of India's largest read Hindi newspaper, Dainik Bhaskar.

سوال۱: صبر کے معنی و مفہوم بیان کریں۔

جواب: لغت کے لحاظ سے صبر کے معنی روکنے، بوجھ کو سہارنے کے ہیں لیکن شریعت کی اصطلاح میں مشکلات اور دشواریوں میں انسان کا نہ گھبرانا اور اپنےمقصد کی طرف بڑھتے رہنا صبر ہے۔ صبر کا تعلق قوت برداشت اور حوصلہ سے ہے اور جس میں جس قدر قوت برداشت ہوگی اسی قدر اس کی کامیابی یقینی ہوتی جائے گی۔ دنیا کا کوئی بڑا کام آسانی سے انجام نہیں پا سکتا بلکہ اس کی اہمیت اس میں پیش آنے والے مصیبتوں اور دشواریوں سے ہوتی ہے۔

سوال۲:آپ ﷺ کے صبر و استقلال پر نوٹ لکھیں۔

جواب: حضوراکرم ﷺ کی بڑی صاحبزادی حضرت زینت رضی اللہ عنہا نے ۸ھ؁ میں وفات پائی۔ جب جنازہ قبر کے سامنے رکھا گیا تو حضورﷺ کی آنکھوں سے آنسو جاری ہوئے لیکن زبان مبارک سے کچھ نہ کہا۔

غزوہ احد زوروں سے جاری ہے کفار پسپا ہو رہے ہیں کہ عین ایسے موقع پر جب بھاگنے والے کفار کے مال غنیمت کو دیکھ کر وہ تیر اندازوں کی جماعت جنہیں رسول اللہﷺ نے ایک درہ پر اس لئے متعین فرمایا تھا اور جگہ نہ چھوڑنے کی ہدایت کی تھی کہ دشمن عقب سے حملہ نہ کر دے لیکن جماعت نے اپنی جگہ چھوڑ کر مال غنیمت کی طرف بڑھ جاتی ہے اور اس کے موقع سے فائدہ اٹھا کر کفار اسی درہ سے لشکر اسلام پر عقب سے حملہ کر دیتے ہیں۔ اور بڑھتے بڑھتے رسول اللہﷺ تک پہنچ جاتے ہیں اور جان نثار حضورﷺ کی حفاظت میں جان کی بازی لگائے ہوئے مدافعت میں مصروف ہیں۔

دشمنوں اور کافروں کے پتھراؤ سے حضور پاک ﷺ زخمی ہو جاتے ہیں۔ آپﷺ کے دندان مبارک شہید ہو جاتے ہیں، چہرے پر زخم آتے ہیں لیکن صبر کا یہ عالم ہے کہ اپنی جگہ نہیں چھوڑتے اور استقلال سے ڈٹے رہتے ہیں۔ تاریخ میں ایک روشن مثال ہے۔

دینوی زندگی میں ایسے نازک موقع آتے ہیں۔ کہ انسان اپنی کامیابی پر آپے سے باہر ہوجاتا ہے اور ایسے حادثات پیش آتے ہیں کہ نڈھال ہو کر رہ جاتا ہے۔ ان دونوں قسم کے حالات میں میانہ روی اور اعتدال پسندی کو صبر کہا جاتا ہے۔ ایسے مواقع جب پیش آئے تو حضور نبی اکرمﷺ نے ہمیشہ فرمایا اور زبان مبارک سے ایک لفظ ایسا نہ نکلا جو وقار کے خلاف ہو۔

قرآن وحدیث نبویﷺ کے ذیعہ ہمیں یہ معلوم ہوتا ہے کہ صبر کی فضیلت بے حد ہے اور صبر کانرے والا اپنے نیک مقاصد میں اللہ کی قدرت سے ہمیشہ کامیاب و بامراد ہوتا ہے۔ صبر دنیا میں سکون و اطمینان اور کامیابی کا بہترین ذریعہ آخرت میں اجروثواب کا سبب ہے۔

سوال۳:صبر و استقلال مفہوم کو بیان کریں۔

جواب: صبر اسلام کے نزدیک ایک اچھی اور پسندیدہ صفت ہے اور اخلاق حسنہ میں اسے شمار کیا جاتا ہے یہی وجہ ہے کہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے قرآن حکیم میں صبر کرنے والے کی توصیف و تعریف ارشاد فرمائی ہے اور یہاں تک فرمایا کہ: ”واللہ مع الصابرین“ کہ جو لوگ مصائب میں صبر اور برداشت اختیار کرتے ہیں اللہ ان کے ساتھ ہے۔“ (سورۃ البقرۃ:۲۴۹) اس کاایک مفہوم تو یہ ہوا کہ اللہ ان کو پسند فرماتا ہے اور ان سےراضی ہوتا ہے لیکن اس سے زیادہ بلیغ اور گہرے معنی یہ ہیں کہ جو تکلیفوں، مشقتوں اور مصیبتوں سے نہیں گھبراتا تو آخرکار وہ کامیاب ہو جاتا ہے کیونکہ اللہ کی امداد اس کے ساتھ ہوتی ہے اس لئے اب یہ معلوم کرنا چاہئے کہ صبر کیا ہے۔

صفت صبر کا اسلام نے جہاں پسند کیا ہے تو اس صورت میں کہ کسی عظیم مقصد کے لئے موانعات اور رکاوٹوں کے دور کرنے میں جو زحمت اٹھانی پڑے، اسے استقلالی اور ثابت قدمی سے جھیلنا اور برادشتہ خاطر نہ ہونا بلکہ اس نیک مقصد کے لئے مسلسل جدوجہد کرتے رہنا صبر ہے مجبوری کو صبر نہیں سجھا جاتا۔ سورۃ آل عمران ۱۴۶ میں اللہ تعالیٰ فرماتا ہے۔

”اللہ کی راہ میں جو مصیبتیں ان پر پڑیں ان سے وہ شکستہ دل نہیں ہوئے، انہوں نے کمزوری نہ دکھائی، وہ (باطل کے سامن)ے سرنگوں نہ ہوئے ایسے صبر کرنے والوں کو اللہ پسند کرتا ہے۔“ صبر ویسے عام لفظ ہے کہ اگر موئی مصائب اور موانعات کے سامنے سینہ سپر ہو کر دل کا مضبوط رکھے تو یہ بھی صبر کا ایک مقام ہے جنگ میں جب دشمن کے مقابل پامردی سے جمارہے اور ہراساں نہ ہو تو ایسے صبر کو شجاعت کہا جائے گا۔ اور اگر کوئی کسی بات کو پوشیدہ رکھنے میں ثابت قدم رہے تو اسے ”کتمان اسرار“(تمام امور کی پردہ داری کرنے والا۔) کہیں گے۔ اللہ تعالیٰ ان صفات کو جن کے مواقع تو الگ الگ ہیں لیکن مقصد ایک ہے صبر سے موسوم فرماتا ہے اس کے لئے اجر عظیم کا وعدہ ہے۔
