excellent resource just what I was looking for

Empty reply does not make any sense for the end user

Great resource, but disappointed by the grammar/spelling in the powerpoint: ' find 10% and half it' should be' halve it'. Sorry if it seems pedantic, but I'm teaching EAL children.

If you’re a teacher or school leader who is interested in improving maths attainment in your school or classroom, then this whole website is for you. Third Space Learning is dedicated to improving outcomes in maths with our online tutoring programme of maths interventions , together with maths resources and CPD.

A note on the Year 6 maths worksheets provided

All the Third Space Learning Year 6, KS2 maths worksheets and SATs revision worksheets are printable; most are in pdf format, some are designed as slides, but if you don’t want to print for whatever reason all the worksheets can be viewed online too.

We always include answers in our maths resource packs but for any teachers wanting to delve further into any of these topics take a look at our KS2 Maths teaching guides which cover everything from long division to pie charts. And if you’re after something a bit more lighthearted in the run up to SATs, our collection of maths games , in particular the KS2 maths games are always popular.

How we’ve selected the Year 6 maths worksheets

We are providing here a selection of the pdf Year 6 maths worksheets and, Year 6 maths tests that we believe can be used with minimal support by 10 or 11 year olds as part of their home learning.

The focus here is on retrieval practice . This means working on skills and knowledge a Year 6 should already have been taught (even if they can’t remember it yet!) and supporting them with strategies to approach SATs questions rather than teaching them new content.

Inevitably there’s a focus at this stage on ensuring pupils core number work is really sound, and on the topics that lend themselves well to Year 6 maths worksheets. There’s nothing here for example on identifying shapes or properties of shapes such as parallelograms or quadrilaterals because you can find these easily online already.

Primary National Curriculum guidance and links to other support is given where relevant alongside the maths worksheets.

Year 6 SATs Reasoning Questions

Central to the new maths mastery approach to teaching maths at primary school is the idea that all children of all abilities should be able to solve multi step word problems in maths and reason well. This is why two of the three KS2 SATs papers are SATs reasoning papers.

While these aren’t on a SATs revision worksheet, there are plenty of examples here to help 10 and 11 year olds to practise these kind of questions.

In KS2 Maths, we'll learn about percentages in a fun way! Imagine you have a big cake, and we cut it into slices. That's like percentages - parts of a whole!

In Year Six, we'll be like maths superheroes! We'll change decimal numbers into percentages and back again. We'll even know that a third is about 33%! So, if a cake is cut into three equal parts, one part is around 33%!

Percentages are cool! Adults might talk about a 5% pay rise. That means getting 5p extra for every £1 earned. And if they mention 10% inflation, it's like prices going up by 10p for every £1 spent!

Let's be percentage experts! Take our fun quiz to see how much you've learned about percentages in KS2 Maths.

Update of state statistics

Today, BEA also released revised quarterly estimates of personal income by state for the first quarter of 2023 through the third quarter of 2023. This update incorporates new and revised source data that are more complete and more detailed than previously available and aligns the states with the national estimates from the National Income and Product Accounts released on March 28, 2024.

BEA also released new estimates of per capita personal income for the fourth quarter of 2023, along with revised estimates for the first quarter of 2020 through the third quarter of 2023. BEA used U.S. Census Bureau (Census) population figures to calculate per capita personal income estimates for the first quarter of 2020 through the fourth quarter of 2023. BEA also used new Census population figures to update annual 2020 to 2022 per capita personal income statistics and to produce new per capita personal income statistics for 2023. For earlier estimates, BEA continues to use intercensal population statistics that it developed based on Census methodology. See “ Note on Per Capita Personal Income and Population .”

Definitions

Gross domestic product (GDP) by state is the market value of goods and services produced by the labor and property located in a state. GDP by state is the state counterpart of the nation's GDP, the Bureau's featured and most comprehensive measure of U.S. economic activity.

Current-dollar statistics are valued in the prices of the period when the transactions occurred—that is, at “market value.” They are also referred to as “nominal GDP” or “current-price GDP.”

Real values are inflation-adjusted statistics—that is, these exclude the effects of price changes.

Contributions to growth are an industry’s contribution to the state’s overall percent change in real GDP. The contributions are additive and can be summed to the state’s overall percent change.

Personal income is the income received by, or on behalf of, all persons from all sources: from participation as laborers in production, from owning a home or business, from the ownership of financial assets, and from government and business in the form of transfers. It includes income from domestic sources as well as the rest of world. It does not include realized or unrealized capital gains or losses.

Personal income is measured before the deduction of personal income taxes and other personal taxes and is reported in current dollars (no adjustment is made for price changes).

State personal income differs slightly from the estimate of U.S. personal income in the National Income and Product Accounts because of differences in coverage, in the methodologies used to prepare the estimates, and in the timing of the availability of source data. In BEA’s state statistics, estimates of personal income for the United States is the sum of the state estimates and the estimate for the District of Columbia.

Per capita personal income is calculated as the total personal income of the residents of a state divided by the population of the state. In computing per capita personal income, BEA uses mid-quarter population estimates based on unpublished U.S. Census Bureau data.

Earnings by place of work is the sum of wages and salaries, supplements to wages and salaries, and proprietors’ income. BEA’s industry estimates are presented on an earnings by place-of-work basis.

Net earnings by place of residence is earnings by place of work less contributions for government social insurance plus an adjustment to convert earnings by place of work to a place-of-residence basis. BEA presents net earnings on an all-industry level.

Property income is rental income of persons, personal dividend income, and personal interest income.

Personal current transfer receipts are benefits received by persons from federal, state, and local governments and from businesses for which no current services are performed. They include retirement and disability insurance benefits (mainly social security), medical benefits (mainly Medicare and Medicaid), income maintenance benefits, unemployment insurance compensation, veterans’ benefits, and federal education and training assistance.

Statistical conventions

Quarter-to-quarter percent changes are calculated from unrounded data and are annualized. Annualized growth rates show the rate of change that would have occurred had the pattern been repeated over four quarters (1 year). Annualized rates of change can be calculated as follows: (((level of later quarter / level of earlier quarter)^4)-1)*100. Quarterly estimates are expressed at seasonally adjusted annual rates unless otherwise specified. Quarter-to-quarter dollar changes are differences between published estimates.

Seasonal adjustment and annual rates . Quarterly values are expressed at seasonally adjusted annual rates. For details, see the FAQ " Why does BEA publish estimates at annual rates? " on the BEA website.

Quantities and prices . Quantities, or “real” measures, are expressed as index numbers with a specified reference year equal to 100 (currently 2017). Quantity indexes are calculated using a Fisher chain-weighted formula that incorporates weights from two adjacent periods (quarters for quarterly data and annuals for annual data). “Real” dollar series are calculated by multiplying the quantity index by the current dollar value in the reference year and then dividing by 100. Percent changes calculated from chained-dollar levels and quantity indexes are conceptually the same; any differences are due to rounding.

Chained-dollar values are not additive, because the relative weights for a given period differ from those of the reference year.

Chained-dollar values of GDP by state are derived by applying national chain-type price indexes to the current dollar values of GDP by state for the 23 North American Industry Classification System-based industry sectors. The chain-type index formula that is used in the national accounts is then used to calculate the values of total real GDP by state and real GDP by state at more aggregated industry levels. Real GDP by state may reflect a substantial volume of output that is sold to other states and countries. To the extent that a state's output is produced and sold in national markets at relatively uniform prices (or sold locally at national prices), real GDP by state captures the differences across states that reflect the relative differences in the mix of goods and services that the states produce. However, real GDP by state does not capture geographic differences in the prices of goods and services that are produced and sold locally.

BEA regions

BEA groups all 50 states and the District of Columbia into 8 distinct regions for purposes of presentation and analysis as follows:

New England (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont) Mideast (Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania) Great Lakes (Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin) Plains (Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota) Southeast (Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia) Southwest (Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas) Rocky Mountain (Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Utah, and Wyoming) Far West (Alaska, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington)

Uses of GDP and personal income by state statistics

GDP and personal income by state statistics provide a framework for analyzing current economic conditions in each state and can serve as a basis for decision-making. For example:

  • Federal government agencies use the statistics in forecasting models to project energy and water use. The statistics are also used as a basis for allocating funds and determining matching grants to states.
  • State governments use the statistics to project tax revenues and the need for public services.
  • Academic regional economists use the statistics for applied research.
  • Businesses, trade associations, and labor organizations use the statistics for market research.

Diversity of 2023

California licensed attorneys and five-year trends.

In 2023, there were approximately 196,000 active, licensed attorneys in California. The analyses below compare the diversity of the state’s active attorney population with California’s adult population. [2] Additionally, the analyses explore change since 2019, the first year the State Bar began administering the annual Attorney Census. In some cases, the comparison year is 2020. These trend data points are displayed with one decimal point to provide finer detail. Statements that summarize five-year trends are based on statistical significance testing. Please refer to the methodology for a detailed discussion about the tests used for these analyses.

White people comprise nearly two-thirds of California attorneys, while only 38 percent of the state’s adult population.

The share of attorneys who are white has decreased since 2019, while the share of attorneys who are asian or multiracial has increased..

White attorneys account for 38 percent of the state’s population yet comprise 65 percent of California’s active, licensed attorney population. In contrast, Latinos comprise 37 percent of the state’s population but only 6 percent of all California’s licensed attorneys. Asian attorneys comprise 16 percent of the state’s population and 14 percent of all attorneys. Attorneys who identify as multiracial comprise 8 percent of all attorneys; this is four times more than the share of adults statewide who identify as multiracial. Black attorneys are 6 percent of the adult population in California and 3 percent of all attorneys. Middle Eastern/North African attorneys comprise 3 percent of all attorneys, and Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islanders comprise 0.3 percent, comparable to their representation among the state’s adult population.

Data on California’s adult population in this figure represents the year 2022 and was drawn from the Annie E. Casey Foundation’s Kids Count Data Center.

People of color constitute 62 percent of the state’s adult population, yet just 35 percent of California’s attorneys.

However, the representation of attorneys of color in California has grown from 32 percent to 35 percent since 2019. As noted in figure 1 above, the growth in attorneys of color since 2019 has largely been driven by the growth in Asian and multiracial attorneys.

Nearly two-thirds of Latino attorneys identify as Mexican, and half of Asian attorneys identify as Chinese or Korean.

The three largest subgroups of Latino attorneys are Mexican, South American, and Central American. Half of all Asian attorneys identify as either Chinese or Korean.

California population data with comparable categories is unavailable.

Women are half of California’s adult population but just 44 percent of California attorneys. One percent of the attorney population identifies as nonbinary.

The share of men among California attorneys has declined since 2019. In contrast, the representation of women and attorneys who identify as nonbinary has remained the same.

Data on California's adult population in this figure represents the year 2022 and was drawn from the American Community Survey, United States Census. Data on California's adult population that identifies as nonbinary is unavailable.

Less than 1 percent of the attorney population identifies as transgender, much like recent estimates of the transgender adult population in California.

The share of attorneys who identify as transgender has remained the same since 2020, the first year the State Bar began collecting data on cisgender and transgender identity.

Data on California's adult population drawn from How Many Adults and Youth Identify as Transgender in the United States. Williams Institute, University of California, Los Angeles Law School. This report uses multiple years of data (2017-2020) to generate the estimate of California adults who identify as transgender.

White men comprise the largest group of attorneys—nearly 40 percent—despite being just 19 percent of California’s adult population.

White men comprise the largest group of California attorneys at 39 percent. The next largest group is white women (26 percent), followed by women of color (18 percent) and men of color (16 percent). Like white men, white women comprise just 19 percent of California’s adult population yet comprise 26 percent of California’s attorneys. In contrast, men of color comprise 31 percent of the state’s population but only 16 percent of all California’s licensed attorneys. Women of color comprise 18 percent of all attorneys and 32 percent of the state’s population.

The representation of men and women of color attorneys in California has grown since 2019, while the proportions of white men and women attorneys have declined.

Values may not add up correctly due to rounding.

Data on California’s adult population in this figure represents the year 2022 and was drawn from the American Community Survey , United States Census. Data on California’s adult population that identifies as nonbinary is unavailable. The values for California’s adult men and women of color do not add to total people of color due to rounding.

The degree of underrepresentation among California’s attorneys compared with their representation among California’s adult population by the intersection of race/ethnicity and gender identity varied by group.

Latino men and women each comprise 3 percent of all attorneys, while they each constitute nearly 20 percent of the state’s population. Black men and women each make up 3 percent of the state’s population, but Black men comprise just 1 percent of California’s attorneys, while Black women constitute 2 percent. Asian men comprise 6 percent of all attorneys and 8 percent of the state’s population, while Asian women make up 8 percent of all attorneys and 9 percent of the state’s population.

The representation of all racial/ethnic groups that comprise men of color has remained unchanged since 2019. However, when these groups are combined, their collective representation has increased since 2019, as illustrated in figure 6 above. Similarly, all racial and ethnic groups that constitute women of color have remained stable, except for Asian women, whose representation among active attorneys has risen from 6.3 percent to 7.7 percent.

Data on California’s adult population in this figure represents the year 2022 and was drawn from the American Community Survey , United States Census. Data on California’s adult population that identifies as Middle/Eastern/North African is unavailable.

The share of attorneys identifying as LGBTQIA+ is the same as California’s statewide LGBTQIA+ adult population.

The share of attorneys identifying as LGBTQIA+ has grown from 7.3 percent in 2019 to 9.1 percent in 2023.

Data on California’s adult population was drawn from California’s LGBT Population in the United States , Public Policy Institute of California, and reflects estimates averaged across surveys administered in 2021 and 2022.

Attorneys with disabilities comprise just 6 percent of the profession.

One in four Californians report having at least one form of a disability that limits activities and self-care. These include mobility issues, cognitive impairments, and vision and hearing impairments. In contrast, only 6 percent of California attorneys reported living with a disability in 2023. The share of attorneys with disabilities has grown from 4.8 percent in 2019 to 5.7 percent in 2023.

Data on California’s adult population reflects 2021 and was drawn from Disability & Health U.S. State Profile Data for California , Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Veterans’ presence in the attorney population is comparable to the state population.

Five percent of the attorney population reports being a veteran; this is comparable to recent estimates of the veteran population in California. Veterans’ representation among California attorneys has grown from 3.2 percent to 5.1 percent since 2020, when the State Bar began collecting data on attorneys’ veteran status.

Data on California’s adult population reflects 2022 and is drawn from the American Community Survey, United States Census .

This year's elite eight teams are all looking to change narratives with a final four run.

DETROIT — Elite Eight, thy theme is great opportunity.

Five of the eight higher seeds just lost in the Sweet 16, from No. 1 seeds Houston and North Carolina to No. 2 seeds Arizona, Iowa State and Marquette. Here in the last hours of March, look who’s left. A bunch of survivors trying to get to a Final Four and overturn recent history en masse.

Start with Purdue . The Boilermakers are serious about this.

Three consecutive years of excruciating exits at the hands of double-digit seeds, last year the unkindest cut of all with No. 16 Fairleigh Dickinson. Hasn’t been to a Final Four in 44 years. But no March swoon this year. Not the slightest hint of one, at least so far. Gonzaga gave them every chance to trip up Friday with 12 first half lead changes, but Purdue decked the Zags with a heaping second-half helping of Zach Edey, and that was that, 80-68.

“They're hunting right now. They're not being hunted,” Gonzaga coach Mark Few said. “I think that's how you get to Final Fours, and that's how you get to national championship games.”

NC State . Hasn’t been this far in 38 years, when the coach was still Jim Valvano. Hasn’t been in a Final Four since 1983’s miracle championship March, but 2024 is starting to look an awful lot like a sequel. Seeking to become only the sixth 11th seed to reach a Final Four. Left for dead before the ACC tournament, the Wolfpack have now won eight elimination games in a row. The best part so far?

“Man, I would just say proving everyone wrong,” Casey Morsell said. “Going into every game, we're pretty much the underdogs. We have that conversation heading into every game about trying to embrace everyone doubting us and just proving everyone wrong and going into the locker room and celebrating.”

Duke . Yeah, the Blue Devils are here a lot, but one more win and they show the world — and their own fans — that Final Fours are possible without Mike Krzyzewski. The last one was 1978. Besides, who expected a regional final of Duke vs. NC State? They played that already in the ACC Tournament and the Wolfpack won. The Blue Devils needed considerable grit Friday but also got a big break, Houston losing the indispensable Jamal Shead to an ankle injury in the first half. The Cougars lost only 54-51, and never ran out of toughness.

Still, it was a breakthrough for the Jon Scheyer administration at Duke. “Coach K has prepared me for moments like this one, because we've been in so many games like this together,” he said. “Just you have to show great poise in these moments. You know your team wants it really badly, but I'm fortunate — I'm beyond fortunate — to have learned from him as a player and as a coach.”

BRACKET:  Check out the 2024 bracket

Tennessee . Has been this far once, 14 years ago. Never a Final Four.

Clemson . Hasn’t been this far in 44 years, never in a Final Four.

Alabama . hasn’t been this far in two decades, never in a Final Four. Now these two football titans play one another, so someone’s going to get there for the first time.

“Alabama and Clemson playing in L.A., Most people would think we're out here playing in the Rose Bowl.” Tide coach Nate Oats said. “The basketball Rose Bowl.”

year 6 percentages homework

Illinois . Hasn’t been this far since 2005. The Illini won five NCAA tournament games that month to get to the national championship game. Then they won five games in the next 16 tournaments. Until this one.

Even UConn . Relentless, house-afire UConn. The Huskies are on a quest to be the first repeat champion in 17 years, only the second in the past 32, leaving the debris of bludgeoned victims as they move along. Average winning margin so far in the tournament: 28.7 points. For that matter, Florida of 2007 is the last defending champion to even get back to the Final Four.

“This team has defied what past champions have done and taken this program to a completely different level,” Dan Hurley said after UConn steamrolled San Diego State.

Take Alabama . “They always say where legends are made,” Rylan Griffen said of the Tide, but usually that’s football. “Making the Final Four... we would be a historic team in Alabama history.”

Or NC State . By now, the echoes from 1983 are so loud, not even the pep bands can drown them out. If that underdog tale — coming from nowhere to upset Houston in the title game — was a road map, this team is dead on course. “I think every team has to create their own path, and our '83 team, not only our '83, our '74 team (which upset UCLA for the Wolfpack’s first title) has been tremendous,” coach Kevin Keatts said. “They've been big brothers, uncles, maybe some of them granddads to a couple of our kids.

“We don't have to talk about that history now because we celebrate it the entire time. It's been talked about since I've been here, and it's going to be talked about as long as we ever are going to remember.”

Or Duke . The narrative last March was that the Blue Devils were physically overpowered by Tennessee in the second round. That didn’t happen Friday. “Tennessee game was pretty much very unacceptable,” Jeremy Roach said. “Obviously Coach, he would remind us in practice throughout the whole season about that, but this game we just kind of took it to heart and didn't want that to happen again, so...”

Scheyer wished to make a point about that. “I think for us some of the criticism about toughness or whatever, try being at Duke as a freshman and sophomore and battling your ass off in the tournament and then talk to me about being tough... I think any questions about their mental toughness or any questions about their heart, I think they answered that tonight.”

CONFERENCE LEADERS:  Tracking 2024 March Madness men's records by conference

Or Purdue . Nobody came into March lugging the baggage of recent tournament disappointments the Boilermakers did. But through three games, that heartbreaking past fades further away. Gonzaga stayed with them Friday, until they couldn’t. Edey had 27 points and 14 rebounds, and also plenty of help, Braden Smith had 15 assists, Purdue shot 57 percent and committed only nine turnovers. All that is the handiwork of a confident team that understands where it wants to go and has the scars to prove it. “We know what we can do as a team. We’ve been through a lot, obviously,” said guard Fletcher Loyer.

year 6 percentages homework

The Boilermakers have won their three tournament games by 28, 39 and 12 points. They’re starting to sound like Connecticut. Coach Matt Painter was asked if that has shown him something about his team. “More than anything,” he said, “with this win we're 26-0 this year when we have 13 or less turnovers.”

Now they get Tennessee , and it’s hard to imagine two programs who have had so many good regular seasons and so many mishaps in March. They met in November in Maui and Purdue won 71-67. Close enough for the Vols to believe. And Tennesseee looked formidable in beating Creighton Friday night 82-75 with the help of an 18-0 run, hitting 11 three pointers for the game, committing only four turnovers, troubling the Bluejays with defense. “Right now it's a mental prep, and we know that,” coach Rick Barnes said of the task ahead. “We've played them, but they're much better, and I'd like to think we are too.”

Then again, the Boilermakers can almost touch it now, the Final Four that has eluded Purdue since 1980.

“It’s unlike any other feeling,” Loyer said, being this close. “It’s something you’re so hungry to do, you’re ready to get to the gym tomorrow. This is the worst part, not the game. Having to wait until Sunday afternoon to go play to get to the Final Four.

“This program is special. It stinks that they haven’t gotten over the hump in recent years to make the program special in everybody else’s eyes. To us it is. We want to make it happen for coach, for the campus, for everybody. For us, too.”

Seven other teams are still alive who could say very much the same thing. Deliverance awaits only four of them.
